  1. He wasn't wondering I don't think. He ran off as soon as he saw movement and my door is at the end of a drive so out of the way. I called the police but there was nothing they could do obviously.
  2. This afternoon at about 6.10, a man tried to open my front (locked door). When my daughter made a sound he promptly left. He was an older white gentleman with grey hair in 'shabby' clothing. He made his way towards the direction of Sainsbury's. All very upsetting, you may have noticed thatI I posted that my daughter's bike was stolen from the flat about 2 months ago; after my daughter is coming out of her wheelchair. She is now petrified that something bad will happen. Thanks everyone x
  3. Ahhh! I see it now! My fault! I thought it best to post it here! Thanks for the heads up! :-)
  4. Anyone know what I did? It was the police who suggested I post on here???
  5. Thanks Jenny, not ideal! But these things happen I guess! Unfortunately my excess and additional premiums would cost more than the bike so not worth it. I guess all I hope is no one is as naive as me and leaves a bike chained up outside!
  6. Hi everyone, My daughter's bike was stolen from our driveway on Wednesday afternoon/ evening between 4pm and 7pm. They cut through a very strong chain used to secure it and made off; despite the drive being overlooked by numerous flats and flood lit. The attached is a picture of the same design/ brand of bike. If you get offered one for sale or see it around, PLEASE contact me on here. Those of you who know me will know that my daughter has been in and out of hospital for a year due to a spinal injury and a half and is just starting to become free of her wheelchair. She has been desperate to one day cycle again, and this has devastated her. I am a single mum and can't afford another, so would mean so much if people could keep an eye out. Thanks all, Emma :-)
  7. I actually think you gave sweets to my daugther last Christmas in the Lion Ward! She absolutely loved them! A year later we are hoping she will be home for this Christmas and I just wanted to say little things like this make such a hard time more bareable! :-)
  8. Awesome! It looks fine when I drive round, but you never know!
  9. Thank you for the advice Bic. Does anyone else have any comments regarding the area?
  10. Hey all, I'm thinking of moving to the estate in the next few weeks. Obviously the above is terrible, but is this kind of thing common? Is it a safe area to bring up a 12 year old?
  11. Thanks, I can live with some annoying music - provided the area is safe!
  12. Hi all! I'm thinking of moving to the new builds on Pytchley road with my daughter (age 12) in the next few weeks. I don't know the estate well, do any of you have any incite? Is it a good place to raise a child? Thanks! :-)
  13. Though I should say that sometimes (for example last meeting), we went somewhere that was 'bring your own booze' and we also went to a pub before and after, so (without being presumptuous as I have been once!)it seems any alcohol costs would be low (if at all) :-)
  14. Had lots of fun! Thanks for having me!! As promised, please see the Gavin and Stacey sketch about having a curry! :-)
  15. Haha! No - I'm just there to make some new friends!!
  16. Haha well she has been told in no uncertain terms that is not an option!
  17. Oh and I know about the targeting parents... it's like they think you are desperate because you're a mum! I've even had one or two married slime balls approach me. I know it's cliche but want to meet some decent people!!
  18. Thanks so much everyone! Nice to know it's not just me!! I'm really interested in meeting some friends too, so this is great. It would be great if there was a speed dating group or something??
  19. Hi everyone! Is this open to anyone? I would love to join and meet some new people - but will be by myself... is that creepy?!
