Don't put stuff people might actually want to re-use in the bin. Leave the shoes (or whatever) on your front wall with a note saying 'please take' if no one has within a day, put them in the bin or take them to a charity shop or offer them on free cycle... (not directed at you, dirac!)

The car wash next to Dulwich Hamlet is pretty good... Avoid the one at the top of Herne Hill - had bad experiences there.

I guess... It had crossed my mind. I'm usually one for playing by the rules and I don't want a charge from the council looming over me in the future...

My thoughts exactly spider69. There was no section 20 notice. The front doors are not compulsory at the moment. But if and when leaseholders want/need a new front door, we are being told the new regs now stand. I have asked these same questions to our local housing rep, waiting for a response...

We have just been told that Southwark council have changed the regulations regarding the purchase and installation of new front doors for leaseholders. If leaseholds require a new front door they must be purchased from and installed by a sole contractor designated by Southwark. The cost is nearly 2k and there appears to be no choice of design or style. The doors are windowless. We are very concerned about the way this has been managed with no consultation. The cost is obscenely high - a door that meets the same fire safety and security specs, indeed higher specs, can be found independently at half the price. Has anyone else heard about this?

I did hear some traffic maintenance personnel discussing traffic lights on Windsor Walk a few weeks ago... Can't see how that would work...

The Begging Bowl on Bellenden Road has a very good, small menu.

Robert and his team recently completed a top to bottom refurbishment of our bathroom. We were very happy with their work and with the final result. Very clear communication from the beginning to the end of the project. Robert attended to every question and query very patiently. His team are real craftsmen and and work to the highest standards.
