  1. Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls Open Day - 2nd June 2018 Have you ever wanted to try your hand at playing lawn bowls? Perhaps you've watched it on TV or seen it being played at your local park. Bowls is an accessible game that's quick to learn and combines physical activity with precision, patience and power. Bowls truly is an enjoyable sport for all - all ages, all sexes and all abilities. If you might be interested in giving it a try, Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls Club will be holding their annual Open Day on 2nd June 2018. The open day is an annual event where the club invites newcomers to come and meet members of the club, who will take you out on the bowling green and show you how to play lawn bowls. We are based in a beautiful setting at 37 Dulwich Common, SE21 7EU. We are just off Lordship Lane and our bowling green backs on to Dulwich Park. We have charming gardens surrounding the bowling green, it is a real hidden gem, even lifelong Dulwich folk are amazed when they set eyes on our beautiful venue. With white wooden huts and palm trees surrounding the lawn bowls green it makes it an ideal area for outdoor parties and events. All in a completely private, secluded setting. For more detailed information about our location please check the website https://southwarksportsbowlsclub.co.uk/where-to-find-us/ All are welcome to come along and join in. Bring the family with you. Bring your own picnic. We will have an outdoor bar with very reasonable bar prices. We will be setting up an outdoor PA to keep you entertained while you are playing. Members of the club will take you out on the green to give you all the coaching need to make you a star player. All equipment is provided ? just remember to wear flat shoes. Our bowling green does not take kindly to stilettos. We invite you to just turn up on the day, midday onwards, but if you would like any more information then please get in touch

  3. Gearing up for their renowned Hope Festival later in May, the Hope Festival boys will be coming to Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls Club to give us all a free taster of what to expect at their renowned annual summer jamboree. The Hope Festival is a non profit making organisation and donate all proceeds to different charities every year. In keeping with their non-profit making philosophy, they will be putting this event on for FREE. A great opportunity to come and see some of South London's top local talent in a great local community resource, Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls and Social Club - who also happen to be a non-profit making set up. A match made in heaven. Highlights include - All girl Country band, The Twangers. Sasha and the Shades, a five piece band fronted by local Peckham boy Sasha Adamczewski. If you think you can smell something fishy, it is probably Ukadelix who describe themselves as a band of trouts. Essentially a cover band, The Ukadelix perform a repertoire of songs ranging from 1920's tunes to more contemporary numbers. Other performers include The Gits, fronted by East Dulwich's favourite comedian Steve Frost, who will be performing their unique brand of comedy punk. Plus The Dust Bunnies will be proving that they are made up of much more than dust and Darwins Quilt will also be throwing themselves in to the mixer. DJ John Preston will be spinning tunes on the decks and there will be spoken word from Jonty and Jamsie. The night starts at 6pm and will continue until around 1am. In addition the Clubhouse at Southwark Sports has a very reasonably priced bar prices. For more information about the bands please visit https://southwarksportsbowlsclub.co.uk/ and check the Hope Festival recent post In the meantime, we "Hope' to see you on the 28th
