  1. I see that this place has opened again but appears to be just cars. I did think that they were offering a very diverse range of services and it might have worked it had been given time for people to know it was there.
  2. I really like Pizza Express (more so that some swanky Italian place I once went to in Soho!), I think the food is great and the atmosphere is any one of their places always feels good and the price is good. Quite often they are in really nice buildings too. A friend works for PE in some sort of development role and they are about to launch a new menu, apparently. Was there a Zizzi in Covent Garden on Long Acre? If so I think I went there once, but think it has now closed down, the food was OK but rather pricey I seem to recall.
  3. I will now be humming 'catch the pigeon, catch the pigeon' all afternoon. I think the Anthill Mob were part of the Wacky races too. I have to confess that some years ago, in a bid to recapture happy childhood memories, I did buy some Penelope Pitstop episodes on video - it's better to stick the memories! I don't remember the animation being as bad as it was!
  4. Just realised we are in the Lounge! Can one be 'new threaded'??
  5. Oh yes, it's all coming back to me! Hey-elp, hey-elp - must get back to work! BTW will you be 'lounging' this just before you set out to thwart PP once more?
  6. Yes, isn't he called Dick Dasterdly and his faithful (or was it not so faitful?) friend was mutterly?
  7. Mockney Piers, clearly you can't be power mad as anyone power mad would never say 'please believe me', they would run amok through the forum 'lounging' people left, right and centre, throwing their head back with a loud maniacal(sp?!) laugh!
  8. Mikewbate, does your rug have the image of Harold losing an eye on it and, therefore, is of deep historical interest?
  9. MadWorld74, you could be the blue squiggle messiah!!
  10. I have an olive tree in my garden - perhaps one day ED will begin to rival the great olive oil makers of the world. I won't be letting EDD stock it though...
  11. You can 'self test' as it were - but if you don't think that's right you can go answer a range of questions by clicking on the 'disagree?' link.
  12. For some reason the link to the website won't copy - what am I doing wrong? :'(
  13. I have been sent this online 'personality' test, which besides being rather interesting and spookily close to the mark is all for a good cause too. So what is ED mostly made up of? I came out as a green circle. Try the new 'BUPA World' personality test Are you an optimistic circle or a logical square? Are you really a creative squiggle but come across as a pushy triangle? Whether you're an introvert or extrovert, personality defines a person, but do you know who you really are? To help you discover the true shape and colour of your personality, go to funky personality test You can also help support Marie Curie Cancer Care by forwarding the survey to your friends and family. BUPA will donate 10 pence each time you forward the survey to a different individual.
  14. I've eaten there a few times and have to say I found the service and the food alright every time. The only complaint would be that there was little atmosphere (outside my dinner guest and I, that is!)as we were about the only ones in there. I've not been to one of their jazz nights and would imagine that that livens the place up a bit.
  15. I went to South West France en vacance and so lovely it was that I sat by the pool and am now rather tanned. It was a weekend of fine wine and fine food - so much so that I have returned to work rather spaced from the experience. My french did dramatically improve though after imbibing the red of the region!
  16. Dear DM, I wouldn't dream of making fun of such an important event in a woman's life as the day when the 'french lady' no longer calls! Getting back to the subject of this thread - has anyone seen Little Red Riding Hood in ED? C.
  17. I shall look out for it - following the crumb trail, obviously, and making sure I don't get into any conversations with an old lady with big teeth and a rather furry face!
  18. Sometimes in the early morning light, people can be spied making tree like shapes and standing on one leg under one of the larger trees on Peckham Rye park - I've always assumed it was tai chi...
  19. Dear DM, What was your reference to Underhill Road connected to? Is the forum awash with Underhillians? C.
  20. Does the church next to Goose Green (can't remember it's name - Red Spire) have a hall? Would they have chairs that they might be willing to let be used for this event? Or will they be using them themselves?
  21. I saw a bobby on the beat walking up Underhill Road the other day - so they do exist. Presumably if the ED station closes we won't see any bobbies walking from Camberwell! I have to say that I do see a fair few police cars - perhaps that says something about where I live! I must pay closer attention to the neighbours...or is it me they're after??!
  22. If it is something 'official' it isn't very subtle from what you described! Plus by now wouldn't whoever it is be asking you to 'accompany' them for a little chat if there was something to go on? Perhaps you're being set up for a new version of Noel's House party (as part of his comeback!) and you're going to get a Gotcha?! Seriously, I hope that you soon get to the bottom of it.
  23. ...and don't forget that it's a 'Market Fresh' Somerfield - only a select few in the country - apparently! not everyone gets grey 'slate' tile floors - perhaps thaat's why they can't afford good stock. I saw a programme the other night called Shopping the Supermarkets (or something like that) and Somerfield were highlighted as pulling the plug on a lettuce supplier who had supplied them for 26 years. As a result of this decision the supplier was in danger of going out of business - so another reason to dislike them! Of course there is two sides to every story.
