  1. The pool was closed when I joined in May, and so I asked about the criteria for a partial refund on the monthly fee, because I wasn't getting the full benefit of the membership in the meantime.
  2. So, the pool is still not open and members are still being charged for the use of it! On complaining again, this is what I have received: "Thank you for your reply. I am sorry to hear how strongly you feel about this situation and I completely understand how disappointing the ongoing pool closure has been, particularly as swimming was one of your main reasons for joining. I appreciate you sharing what you were told at the point of sign-up. While we aim for all information to be consistent, I recognise that this has not always been the case, and I apologise if this has caused confusion or led to expectations that differ from the eligibility criteria we have since communicated. To clarify, the eligibility criteria for adjustments were introduced to ensure we treat all members fairly and consistently, based on usage across all Southwark sites. I do recognise your concern that this information did not feel as visible as it should have been, and I will ensure this feedback is passed on so our communication is clearer going forward. I truly regret the disruption the closure has caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve it. Thank you again for taking the time to outline your concerns. Kind regards, Move Southwark Team Dulwich Leisure Centre"
  3. They specifically told me that if I used other venues I won't be eligible for a refund when the pool reopens 🤦‍♀️
  4. On appealing, I've had the same reply regarding my personal membership, despite being told previously by staff that I could apply for a (partial) refund when the pool finally reopens (it still isn't open) and to go ahead and use the gym instead in the meantime. I've made a formal complaint. Any local journalists on here? Perhaps local councillors are following this thread?
  5. Has anyone successfully applied for a refund? I submitted a request (having not used Dulwich or any other pool while it was closed) and was told I was ineligible, with no reason given.
  6. The site is now shut, because the builders are symptomatic and self-isolating.
  7. The point of my original post was about the noise, which we are monitoring. Neighbours are in lockdown at home. There doesn't seem to be any good public health reason for the building work to continue.
  8. Demolition at the old PO site on Silvester/Pellatt Roads seems to be carrying on, while neighbours are stuck at home, many of us NHS staff on shifts and most trying to home school. The noise, vibration and dust is unbearable. The builders are all huddled together during breaks, too, and one has developed a cough in the past few days. The work is clearly nonessential, as they are building a block of flats and 3 town houses. Apart from the obvious public health concerns, I am interested to find out how far is the noise travelling - are other people locally finding it a nuisance? Thanks.
  9. Please stop construction work in residential areas. Why is demolition going ahead at the old PO site on Silvester/Pellatt Roads, while neighbours are stuck at home, many of them NHS staff on shifts?
  10. Hi Renata, have this year's 'longest distances admitted' for primaries been released yet? Thanks.
  11. Our Virgin Media broadband on CPR has been down since Monday. Call centre says it's an area-wide problem and will take a week to fix. Anyone else without service?
  12. I've sent you a PM
  13. Noticed the same on Crystal Palace Road on Monday - box open but label still said Saturday.
  14. Duck Egg Cafe on North X Rd (cash only)
  15. Our 2 year old loved it and is still talking about it 3 weeks later. The scenes with not-so-friendly giants were a little scary, though.
  16. Hello, and congrats all! Our 1st baby is due in October - both 'old', too :) Px
  17. Hi James, The last round of cuts saw the sub-PO on Melbourne Grove get the chop, with the family-owned shop closing as a result. Today, like many days, the queue at the Lordship Lane PO was out of the door, even with four counters open. If the LL PO closes, too, I'm not sure there will be a service within reasonable walking distance of this end of ED. I can understand why the PO/politicians might put the branch into a shop to save money, by selling a prime site and franchising the business, but why can?t they be straight about how local services will suffer further?
