  1. Free. Collect goose green area.
  2. Is it really? It always seems busy. That's incredibly sad, I love Luca's and they also bake amazing bread. This is very sad. I will miss Luca’s.
  3. Laundrette on Bellenden is not closing as far as I know. Last time I used it , a large machine, suitable for a duvet was £7.00. Smaller machines £4.50. The dryer usually costs around £2.00 to dry a full load.
  4. Snappy Snaps also make sure the photo is compliant with all the regulations.
  5. Anyone know why there was no market today? Would love to know. I assumed it most be because of some storm damage but I couldn?t see any.
  6. Bora are brilliant. Wide range, beautifully displayed, sold in paper bags , and you can buy as much as you need. I haven?t found the prices for day to day veg at all expensive (indeed I once had to ask if they had undercharged me).
  7. Cade Street Nurseries in the Northcross Road market have potted ones. Ours will be doing its 3rd Christmas this year!
  8. I went to Kings as a walk in last Friday around 4.30. 20 minute wait, no GP letter needed, just your NHS number. I was exactly 182 days from 2nd jab and was given the booster. Very efficient. Although the vaccination centre is a long walk from the main entrance so it?s easier to go and leave via Coldharbour lane.
  9. We shop a lot at Gather, a wide range of goods and really good value, especially as you just buy what you need. They were a lifeline in the first lockdown; they had things like flour when no one else did. And they are lovely people.
  10. Boulangerie Jade have been accepting reusable cups since at least the middle of last year.
  11. Arapina, a new bakery advertising healthy lifestyle baking, is open in the old Threshers, and smells delicious. And how great to see that shop space being used after what must be 20 years empty.
  12. I got the letter and tried to book online but the nearest was a pharmacy in Brixton. I just rang my surgery (The Gardens) and asked if I could be booked somewhere closer. They sent me text link for TJC or the Lister. Went to TJC, which as others have said, was very efficient.

I have seen squirrels pull crocus flowers off, eat (presumably) the middle and then toss the rest away.
  14. I think many of their shops are closing earlier at the moment, but in non-COVID times certainly Soho opens later than 6.00pm.
  15. So, more info. The new bakery Arapina, which specialises in gluten free and healthy options baking, is (I think) in the old Threshers. The coffee shop in the old Truly Scrumptious has the St. David?s Coffee house (Forest Hill) team behind it, so the coffee will be good! The As Nature Intended shop seems to still be available. I think the problem for Truly Scrumptious was that if a shop is selling lower priced bread, then there is the competition from the supermarkets, some of whom have in house bakeries and sell good bread. After nearly a year of shopping pretty much exclusively for food locally, I think we are really fortunate in the range of shops we have. But if we want to keep them we have to use them. Oh, and the Coop is closing for a month for refurbishment from 5th February.
  16. There?s actually going to be a bakery opposite, according to signs in a window. It implies it?s to be a healthy bakery, whatever that means!
  17. It?s open today. Small number of food stalls plus the bike repair place. Virtually empty at 10.30 this morning.
  18. Looks like this is available in Southwark from Monday. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/coronavirus/book-a-free-covid-19-test?chapter=3&utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term=
  19. They?ve actually been open for orders since the summer, with every efficient home delivery, and great response to special orders. I got most of my Christmas presents for them this year! It was great when they were open for visiting and hopefully they will be again.

Lots of birds in spring and early summer, then nothing since. However, the good news is we have Great Tits back on the feeder, and great flocks of sparrows settling in the trees in the road, in the past 3 days.

I am not really a dog person, but the sight of dogs running around Goose Green with the sheer joy of being a dog, always lifts my spirits. Especially at night with the LED collars.
  22. Cycled past Dulwich library today. It's open 10-6 every day apart from Sunday, for drop off and collect.
