Local care/nursing home recommendations
terrig replied to Mrs R's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I highly recommend the Elms. My mother was there 5 years until she died a year ago. She had dementia and bad mobility. The care and attention was wonderful, great food and a very happy and kind atmosphere. Can?t fault it. Do PM me if you want more detail. -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
terrig replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks James. I wish a proportionate amount of money, time and effort would go into mending the potholes on large stretches of Underhill Road between Friern Road and as far as Harris primary on Lordship Lane. A major traffic route for cars, cyclists and the P13 bus, and it?s like driving down a farm track in parts, and really dangerous cycling as there are so many holes to try and avoid. -

Hi James, can you find out/do you know the reason for the major works on Piermont Green - seems to be installation of kerb edging on the road that runs across the green that is access to 4 houses? There didn?t seem to be much wrong with that road given the traffic levels yet there are major potholes and wonky pavements that are not being addressed across East Dulwich. What is the reason for this spending and priority? Thanks. -
Excellent, friendly and responsive service from Aria and his brother. We had a hot water leak and it was fantastic that they could get us fixed in such a timely way with good advice. Totally recommended.

Sadly Dulwich Village Post Office has been closed for quite a while. There's a nice pop up gallery there right now! Worth a visit -
We have been through a long journey with immense support from the services at SLaM including carer/family support group. Do PM me if you would like to. Teresa

I would wholeheartedly recommend the Elms. My mum has been there since November 2013 and has been wonderfully cared for in all aspects. She is self funded. For me, having her around the corner so that we can pop in, and if she's asleep, pop back later or the next day is a huge benefit. Think of yourself as well. The environment there enables you to be as involved as you want to be or have time to be, personal and warm. Do PM me if you would like a chat about the Elms. Good luck! Teresa

I have a relatively good condition overhead projector that has stopped working - all obvious things checked - needed for an art project. Is there anyone out there who turns their hand to repairing this sort of electrical item? Thanks

Andy did an excellent and reliable job of fitting a new tap and fixing an extractor fan for me last week. He had to trawl the hardware shops to find some fittings for the tap and didn't charge me for the extra time it took. He's a friendly, easy person to deal with and I would definitely recommend him.
