Looking for garden landscaper for front garden
peleparso replied to peleparso's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Thanks for that! -
Does anyone have any recommendations for a landscaper who could help us transform our mess of a front garden into something simple, attractive and low maintenance. Probably mainly hard landscaping with some interesting planting. Thanks Matt

Thanks everyone I will follow up!

Thanks, will try.... -
I have a section of my back garden that needs levelling in preparation for a garden office. Not a massive job as it's reasonably flat but there is some levelling needed and some slabs/roots to be taken out. Have had one quote which was astronomical so looking for recommendations please. Cheers

New Cemetery Railings and Granite - Underhill Rd
peleparso replied to Heart108's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The railings look great and really enhances that side of the road. I used to live on Underhill Rd opposite the cemetery and the fencing always looked q shabby and blocked views of very nice greenery. It did also attract fly tipping. -

Exhibition of the proposed redevelopment at DHFC
peleparso replied to BrandNewGuy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What's the difference between "brazen property development" and "property development"? There seems to be some issue here with an investor (of whichever sort)looking to make a profit from developing something people actually may need and want (housing, better community facilities, etc). What's the alternative? Perhaps we should just wait for the 1950s to come back and the State can fund everything we ever needed. Or perhaps not. Looking forward to seeing what people say at the consultation. -

It's not that easy though is it. From what I've read DHFC have been on dodgy ground (literally and financially) for some time. Two things are clear - there is an opportunity to change the current configuration of the facilities to make it more sustainable in the long-term; it's also fair to say that the club is on a real upward curve in terms of attendances and engaging local communities so this is the time to maximise that groundswell of support. One other thing I'd add is that there is an urgent need for more housing, that is undeniable. Any "affordable housing" will only be built if it's cross-subsidised by private sale - the days of Central govt-funded social housing is over. I think there's a lot of good in the general proposal, be interesting to see what the overall "local" view is. -
Watsons General Telegraph and Inside 72
peleparso replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Went yesterday for a quick pop in. Much improved on The Rose and was actually very busy (where did they all come from?). Garden could be amazing when it's a bit warmer. Staff really friendly and vinyl a nice touch. Have to say though that ?8something for 1 and a half pints of ale and a pineapple juice seems OTT. I can't see how ?5 for a small glass of wine is reasonable. Hmmm, we'll see. -

Just seen this which is a bit depressing.... http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/dec/13/parents-protest-pay-to-play-parks-privatising-green-spaces?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Would be useful to have a meeting with Southwark to find out the plan... -
Another thumbs up here for Steve - great service, very efficient and highly recommended. Sorted our washing machine with no fuss.

Not sure if possible but I bike that journey quite a lot and it's 15 mins tops.

Just remembered there was one on Underhill Rd near Barry Road junction. Bought a crunchie there in 1999. Now houses.

They're perfect for new housing developments which is much more profitable. Ditto pubs.

Have lost set of keys between pound shop opposite Forest Hill Station and the sand park opposite Hornimans sometime today (Sunday) between 2.30-4.30. Would love it if someone had found them and could return. Text 07545 743042 if any sign please. Keys have 2 black plastic fobs and about 3 other keys on them. Thanks
