  1. I am not a fitness fanatic, don't really enjoy cardio and have never had a personal trainer. But I decided to try a session with Carter and have to say I was very impressed. Lovely man; calm, knowledgable and thoughtful. He takes an evidence-based approach to fitness and health which I like, and promotes good technique over speed. We shall see if I can become a convert! If you are looking for a personal trainer, in my opinion you need look no further than Coach Carter.
  2. Worked when I took bump out...why is that word not allowed in that section?!
  3. Ah yes I do have bump in there as maternity clothes! Shall try again...thank you
  4. Anyone had this difficulty? It just won't post my message - not sure what I'm doing wrong as have posted before without problem...any thoughts appreciated.
  5. Thanks again for the response James - was helpful to hear that there might be options both short-term and long-term to improve the crossing.
  6. I intend to email James Barber direct - but thought I'd also post here. I've noted for a while how brief the green man crossing time is at the East Dulwich Road/Adys/Crystal Palace Road crossing by the big playground at Goose Green. While at the playground with my daughter over the weekend I purposefully watched a range of different people crossing (old, young, male, female, single, coupled, with prams etc) and no one managed to get across during the 5 second bleeping/green man light. Furthermore, a significant proportion of people walk across the road on the diagonal. For all, but particularly for children and those with poor sight or being hard of hearing; the current 5 second green man light and bleeping are not long enough. I am aware that it is a busy road, but it is also busy from the pedestrian side with the playground, leisure centre and school near by. Therefore, I wondered whether there is the possibility of pushing forward a proposal for a) a slightly longer green man/bleep period and b) for the crossing to be adapted to allow diagonal crossing similar to Oxford Circus? Any views/advice would be appreciated.
  7. Not sure whether we will use one yet with our baby (considering it at night as she too is sucky!) but have done some reading around the subject and on the positive, it is thought that dummy use at night can reduce the risk of SIDS as the act of sucking encourages/reminds baby to breath and they are less likely to roll onto their front and bury their nose in the bedding as would be uncomfy with a dummy in their mouth. Secondly, from an orthodontic point of view a dummy does not cause dental problems in the way thumb/finger sucking can (not that it always does). Hope this might help in your decision making.
  8. Yes sorry I wasn't able to make it either - but would be great to meet again soon - off work now so days good if others are about too.....perhaps next week?
  9. Wednesday 7th July works well for me - really nice to meet you all last night.
  10. Yes I've completely lost track of who was coming too! Had a quick look back and I think there are potentially still 8 of us meeting (Knomester, lucyjessica, prm, jayd5, anna_r, Au'Lait, frierntastic, katycameron). Given that as not everyone might have a chance to check back here before coming - perhaps still best to stick to a 6.30 meet and those who need to arrive a little later can...?
  11. I am still planning to come - can do 6.30 if still suits some or can come 7 if better...
  12. looking forward to meeting you all - hope the next few days of crazy heat doesn't frazzle everyone too much!
  13. Dear all Forum seems to have got a bit crazy with 'clubs' for different due dates/months! Have to say I personally am just quite up for meeting for a casual drink with anyone due anytime this year! And given it's my first, I guess it's particularly nice to meet with other first-timers. I still have Weds 9th June 6.30pm drink at Green & Blue in my diary - but just wanted to check if others are still up for this or if you would prefer to separate into the new due month/season clubs?!
  14. Disposable or washable? Which do you recommend?!
  15. Please do join! Only 2 of us have met so far so a very new group!
  16. 9th June at 6.30pm it is then - I'd suggested Green & Blue just as we met there last time and is always nice - but I'd be happy to go anywhere.
  17. Oh god yes - so sorry buggie got confused from all the different messages and overlooked that the 9th was a no go for you - sincere apologies. Would it be ok with you if we went for the 9th on this occasion as it seems a few more people can make that one, and then we get another in with your dates the priority? We could always do a smaller extra one on the 2nd too - any chance it could be earlier than 6.30?
  18. Looks like Weds 9th June might work well - shall we go for that - 6.30pm at Green & Blue?
  19. Ok thought I'd try suggesting a couple of dates to see how diaries are looking....(unfortunately I can't do Tuesdays and Naomi can't do Thursdays - so will go for Mondays or WEdnesdays but completely understand there may need to be several different plans to work for us all!!). How about: Weds 26th May Weds 2nd June Mon 7th June Weds 9th June Any of those work?
  20. Planning on buying a travel cot shortly and just wondered if there are any particular ones that you'd recommend from a light/easy to set up etc perspective? Many thanks.
