  1. Incidentally, I was in Somerfield today and they have just started stocking delicious sushi for just ?1.99. I bought some. Lovely stuff.
  2. "I notice some of the new (Somerfield) staff do look very dodgy indeed and wouldn't be surprised if they aren't behind this happening." Shu.Kurimu.Sensei, so you have come to the conclusion that some of the new staff at Somerfield 'look dodgy' and may therefore be behind card cloning? What an impertinent thing for you to say. I know you dislike impertinence when it is directed at you or your wife. My neighbour's daughter has just started work at Somerfield prior to starting University, I wonder if she is one of the 'dodgy' looking people you had in mind?
  3. Really sorry to hear you got clobbered. I have little sympathy when people flout the rules, but it sounds as if it was unclear where you were. I have got 2 parking fines recently in the area, and I thoroughly deserved them as I was just too frazzled and busy to read the signs properly. I was very upset, but had only myself to blame. I know where you got 'done' and think you might have a case. As 'Flong' says, the markings are really faded.
  4. The cost is really high between ?7.50 (plus 50p booking fee) ?10 on the gate. Good grief! Nice idea but too expensive for me, especially as I am a film buff, and I know all these films inside out.
  5. Made the point in my last posting. Move on.
  6. Don't call me, 'my love'. The bar I mentioned was the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, and the picture is taken from that particular venue. It was in response to the point that I was unfairly stereotyping the punters at the RVT. I did not mock up that website. What a suspicious mind you have. Any google search will bring it up. "Natasha"
  7. Somewhere like a small Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff would be good. There's nothing like that round here. Obviously I don't know how big or small you intend to be. On a smaller scale, the Troubadour in Earls Court is a brill place. Something like that here please! http://www.troubadour.co.uk/ Please ensure the place has 'character', and possibly encourage a bohemian vibe, which nowhere round here currently has. I think it is really good that you came on here asking what people want. Shame a few other places didn't do that....er, Davina?
  8. I honestly think that pre-schoolers have more fun doing stuff with their parents, as opposed to attending these kinds of groups. Not only are these groups expensive, and annoying because you have to sign up for a course - I'd say kids would be happier spending 45 minutes banging a wooden spoon on a big, empty, metal coffee jar. At home. In signing up to these courses, you are not enabling your children to get used to being 'bored'. sorry but life just aint exciting all the time. Kids need to learn to use their imaginations more, and they can quite easliy do that in the park or on the kitchen floor.
  9. I apologise for stereotyping the guys who go to the Royal Vauxall Tavern. I was obviously so wrong that they have cropped hair and tight t-shirts. Not to mention the ubiquitous neat moustache merging into a neat, cropped beard. http://www.timjonesmusic.co.uk/images/boyzfeb06.jpg
  10. They're not always 'delightful' to women. Far from it. I work with a gay guy who is a nasty piece of work towards women.
  11. BJL. fair enough. It all depends on your definition of racism - which was the point.
  12. Keef, my username is NOT Natasha30D. Thank you very much for your 'constructive' criticism.
  13. What do you THINK he means, Louisa? I have my ideas.
  14. Kidkruger, I agree that the term was offensive, but I disagreed that it was necessarily 'racist'. I will explain why. The word ?racism? has become a useful political tool. But politicians, intellectuals and the equal rights industry have used the word so indiscriminately that ?racism? has joined the ranks with ?fairness? and ?justice? and ?equality,? words that have the unique characteristics of meaning whatever you want them to mean, yet, at the same time, having no useful meaning at all. What we do have in abundance is prejudice, bias and stereotyping, some of which is bad, some of which makes good sense. Is it racism, for example, to wish you daughter would marry within her race? Is it racism to be wary of strangers of a different race who may or may not share your customs, ethics or traditions? Is it racism to consider common stereotypes when dealing with a stranger of another race? Is it racism to prefer that your favorite club admit only members of your race?
  15. I have no problem with gay guys. My hairdresser and exercise teacher are both gay - as camp as can be and I adore them. Much of what I said above was tongue in cheek, and not meant to be taken too seriously. Apologies if it didn't come across in that way. In fact, if ED had more of a 'gay' influence it would really tart the place up for the better. I am stereotyping again (but there is often truth in stereotyping) but many gay guys have utterly impeccable taste - and that is just what ED needs. I still don't agree with there being a gay bay as such. I think that bars should be for everyone. Sonners " A much better night out than having drunk, sweaty heteros trying to dive in for an unwanted snog like in a lot of straight clubs IMHO." And you accuse me of stereotyping?????
  16. I agree with most of what you say Jeremy, plus you of all people would know what you're talking about. Well said.
  17. It definitely wasn't me that said 'why don't you go and join a black forum'. I am pleased the OP has been warned about using the word C*nt. As a female I find this term very, very offensive. I am surprised that so many of you have let it pass, preferring to reprimand me. I said that I found the term 'sushi' daft and childish, which it is. Don't assume I am a white person, incidentally.
  18. Louisa, I have never, to my knowledge, passed a "stereotypical straight bar with men outside in groups swearing and shouting at each other and girls as they pass" in East Dulwich. Perhaps I dont get out enough. As to your question am I homophobic? No.
  19. LOL myrmidon and, the OP, Shu.Kurimu.Sensei, obviously still thinks it is OK to use the C word. Personally I would rather be called 'bangers and mash' than the C word. But that is just my preference. Actually, I'd prefer someone yelled out 'Thai green curry' at me.
  20. No I would not shout out any type of meal to anyone regardless of their ethnic origin, as it is just plain daft. I don't know why you're getting your knickers in a twist either. I find your use of the xxxx word far, far more offensive frankly. And your point about more women being racist than men in the UK? That is your opinion, of course, as you could not state for sure that that is fact, could you? (xxxx - rude word removed - The Administrator)
  21. How is calling someone 'sushi' racist? Is calling someone of Indian origin 'curry' racist? Daft and childish maybe, but racist? I think not.
