  1. "Extension: the Mayor confirmed his wish to take the line from Elephant and Castle to Camberwell and Peckham and probably overground to Bromley after pressure from Labour-run Southwark council" http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/boris-johnson-bakerloo-line-extension-to-peckhams-time-has-come-8540510.html
  2. I'm sorry to say that Southwark are fairly prohibitive about this. I know from direct experience of trying (and failing) to get permission to convert our butterfly roof into habitable space. All of our neighbours offered supporting letters for the plan but the planner still said "no", citing borough policy. Check out page 28 and onwards in their planning policy document: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/download/4358/part_2_pages_79-156
  3. It's an ongoing protest related to this: http://www.voice-online.co.uk/article/tensions-rise-after-claims-afghan-shopkeeper-beat-black-boy There is much speculation about what exactly happened and google has a number of conflicting accounts.
  4. @ClareC - I think that @ParentingWorkshop was saying that the adult/child ratio is higher with a childminder than at a nursery. The inference being that the quality of care is better with a childminder.
  5. my suggestion would be to uninstall a-squared and try the new avg (don't forget to install the virus updates after installing the main program...). i would try doing all of this in safe mode, and the scan too. if it complains that it can't be run in safe mode then you'll have to boot normally and run from there. keep us posted!
  6. fwiw, avg has a new version out that includes anti-spyware aswell as anti-virus, and its still free... avg free v8.0 and i agree with seanmacg that booting to safe mode might help with the installation. good luck
  7. its a curse i have to live with ;-)
  8. seems like a bit of a catch 22... if you can get online from another machine (and presumably you can if you're posting here...) you should be able to download the drivers from the dell support site: dell support you can select your laptop by model number and grab the wlan drivers from there. only catch is you'll need a memory stick or similar to transfer the download from whichever machine you use to your laptop. hope this helps
