  2. Hi. We are looking to dig out off street parking and redo our steps. It would involve alot of groundwork. Does anyone have any recommendations for builders? Thanks.

  4. It's prob too late but just to make people aware there was an attempted mugging on woodvale just before Langton rise this eve at about 6. Two men in black with balaclavas dragged a female to the ground and attempted to get her bag. Police were informed. Last seen running towards forest hill rd.
  5. Hi. Can anyone recommend a Christmas mass I can take my mum to on Christmas Eve? I don't usually go so have no idea but they're coming to us this year and I would like to take her. Thanks. Carrie.

  8. Hiya. I wanted to take the kids to see Santa in town but hamleys & harrods are all booked up. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I saw the whippersnappers one as a local alternative, has anyone been to it before as it's quite expensive but if it's really good I will do that instead. Thanks. X Carrie.
  9. Hi. Ok this is a bit of a random one but, I seem to remember reading on here (or possibly I'm going mad and someone just told me!) of a lady in ed that collects clothes for a childrens charity in Africa and I can't for the life of me remember who told me or possibly where I read it! I have loads of stuff and would like to give things to her so if anyone has a vague inkling of what I'm going on about could they get in touch. At muchly. Xx
  10. Hi, It's a bit random but, does anyone have any old magazines they want to get rid of? I am looking for anything really, travel lifestyle fashion etc for a project I am doing. Thanks, X Carrie.
  11. Excellent, totally missed the ikea/ horsemeat news. Gutted, I thought they were yum!!
  12. Hi. I have used the play place. I think it's over 4 but maybe 3's. they can stay an hour but you can't always just walk in as is very popular. My son loves it and usually comes out asking when we are going back. If you know what you want and it's not rammed an hour should be long enough. There are staff in there and it's a 2 gated entrance/ exit so they can't do a runner! They all get these belt thingies with alarms on also. They def still do the hotdogs although we always have to have the meatballs when we go! X
  13. Thank you all for your replies. I am getting a sound machine and am going to do a bit of research & reading or possibly just a bigger bed! The cat post made me laugh alot as I totally agree that cats are very therapeutic, but one of ours is incontinent and the other is a psycho-kitty that would probably just savage him in the middle of the night! I know I just have to remember its all a phase that we will get through but you know what sleep deprivation is like. X
  14. Hi. Just looking for a bit of advice really. My 4 year old son has never been a great sleeper but it feels as though it is getting worse not better. He is a very lively boy with a active brain to say the least. He has always been up in the night & not great at napping during the day ( when younger) about a year ago he had started sleeping through the night 3 maybe 4 nights a week but in the last 6 months or so he has gone back to waking 2-3 times every night. Usual pattern is he goes to bed ok, although when left alone to go to sleep he falls asleep with his fingers in his ears as he doesnt want to hear scary things. He is terrified of anything that buzzes and will have a complete meltdown, and says he can hear buzzy bees. I'm wondering about hearing or even tinnitus or something. He will sleep ok generally until 11 or 12 ish then will scream unless you go in to him and when he wakes later on in night he just gets up & gets into our bed & wiggles so one of us usually ends up in a red racing car bed! He has episodes of night terrors where he is very vocal lashes out and very difficult to rouse, these are infrequent and seem to happen when he is very tired or sick. The worst of these episodes involved him screaming uncontrollably 4 times one night for 40 mins at a time. The neighbours must think I'm murdering him! Fortunately that kind of episode is very rare though. I spoke to the gp, who was sympathetic but basically had the well my kids didn't sleep till bah blah Just get through it sort of attitude! But I'm loosing the plot through lack of sleep. I'm at work part time and do 12 hr days and need my brain to function. We have a 17 month old girl who fortunately sleeps beautifully otherwise I think I would be insane by now! I am thinking about a sleep consultant or any advice very greatly received. Thanks xx
  15. Hiya, Just being nosy but does anyone have any ideas what was happening on Benchley gardens this afternoon as the whole road was closed by the police. Ta.
  16. Help. Desperate plea. My party entertainer has cancelled for my sons birthday tomorrow I'm ill and my husbands scared of 22 children. We are going to need some entertainment for an hour or so as I would hate to cancel. Does anyone know of or is a childrens entertainer?? Realise this is a slim shot but you never know. X
  17. Thanks everyone for your responses. We have just got back from holiday so he is very out of routine and overtired, & had a temp on sat too. Hopefully it will be better tonight, we have grandma here if its not as not sure either of us could do another night like last night! Couldn't get a gp app at 9 am this morning so will get on to them tomorrow early. Will look at whats happening with him to see if theres any pattern & try and implement some suggestions. Thanks again
  18. Hi. I think my son is having night terrors. Last night we had the worst night so far and I just don't know what to do about it. I'm trying to get a doctors app this morning but just wondered if anyone has any pearls of wisdom. Last night he 'woke up'every hour and screamed inconsolably for up to 40 mins at a time. He thrashes about in the bed sitting up occasionally and looking at me but seems not really focused on me. He says things but makes no sence & wont respond to me its like I can't seem to wake him up. He then seems to get a bit more with it and will answer questions & then settles. He is 3 and a half yrs. Does this sound like night terrors? Is there anything I can do to get him to sleep better? Sorry if I'm making no sence am very sleep deprived! Thanks. X
  19. Hi. I remember seeing a while ago that the cp 1 o'clock club was closing. Has this happened or is it still on does anyone know. Thanks. X
  20. Hi. I swam with Waterbabies for 2 yrs with my son and now have started again with my daughter. We went to the bayswater classes and it is indeed a schlep from ed! I go to lewisham with my daughter now which is fine either drive and park in the hospital ( which can be a pain) or just into ladywell and 5 min walk or we bus it (185 p4 or p12). I have also gone to the balham pool for a term(very shallow, & seem to remember parking was a bit of a pain) and latchmere in Wandsworth which is a nice pool and has a cafe so u can grab a coffee afterwards, but def a drive and the air & water temp a bit random if your baby is still young. Hope that helps! Welcome to ed. X Carrie.
  21. Hi. Don't think gumboots take until 6 months but always worth checking. They won't let u register until the baby is born but do it ASAP as they (& most other nurseries) have a huge waiting list. X
