  1. Hi, I have some things to donate but unfortunately couldn't bring by on either of the days. Is it ok then to drop them in at the pub tomorrow ( or to another address?)or is someone able to collect from me. Thanks, Carrie
  2. Hi all. Does anyone have any suggestions for an entertainer for my sons 3rd birthday party. Anyone used someone they thought was good. Ages will range from 2-6 yrs. am a bit scared by the thought of loads of kids in my house, need something to occupy them! Thanks, carrie
  3. HI all, I am due my second on the 18th august. I keep missing meet ups and would love to come on the 25th too. Mums4u I know how you feel, I agree it does feel much harder, I am sooo tired & hormonal, I feel huge and I cant remember feeling this uncomfortable last time (but my husband assures me I was!) x
  4. HI, I swam with my son from 10 weeks, you dont need to have imms as mentioned above. The advice I was given that babies under 12lbs or 12weeks should only go in a hydrotherapy pool (heated to 34 degrees or something bathlike!) We swam with waterbabies (their nearest hydro- pool is bayswater though) but littlr dippers do lessons in hydrotherapy pool at guys hosp london bridge. It is great though- I thoroughly recomend it, my son is 27 months and absolutely loves the water, and can very nearly swim. x

Princess- I am doing the nct refresher in herne hill in june, so possibly we are on the same course. Last time i did yoga classes at soup dragon which were great, but theyre during the day, so no good if still working. x carrie

  7. HI, I have been ridiculously disorganisd (as always!)and am only now looking at a nursery place for my son in september I know ive left it far too late but am stuck now. Does anyone have any suggestions of good places that dont have a 2 year waiting list? He will be 2y 8 months by then. thanks carrie
  8. Hi. I guess it's very individual but whats peoples experience with dropping the afternoon nap? At what age did you do it? My 2 y 1m old is getting increasingly difficult to get to bed at night but thought he still needed his nap. It's just been this last week he has gone from bottle & story and then singing himself to sleep to screaming for up to an hour. I don't know what to do as it's been such a quick change and I hate to see him go to bed so upset. Any toddler settling tricks also appreciated! I was about to take the side off his cotbed but guess I will have to delay it a bit as there's no way he will stay in bed now. Thanks.
  9. HI all, I was just wondering what sort of ages did people put their toddler in a bed? My 21 month old is trying very hard to pull himself out of his cot, and im concerned its not going to be very safe for him for too much longer. He sees unable to do it if he is in a sleep bag, but im guessing its only so long before he figures out his escape from a bag too! Obviously I dont want him going head first out of the cot but he is such a squirmer in his sleep, he will just be rolling out of bed all the time. Any tips on how to convert to a big bed welcomed. We are also in the middle of moving so don't want to change too much at one time. Also any ideas what age should a child be before they sleep with a pillow? Ta, C x
  10. Hi, I have a 20 month old boy and would love to meet up, we are about today (friday)if anyone else is free. X carrie
  11. Good question. We too had a very sad little man who stood crying at the gates as he wasn't allowed on the swings on saturday. Any ideas anyone??
  12. We have been away for a couple of weeks so would be nice to come along as only made the first week! We maybe a little late thou due to naptime. Carrie & J. x
  13. I used one of those really sexy looking vest bump support tops, cant remember their official name but they sold them in jojo mamma bebe. I found it really helped as was working long shifts on my feet all day. They are a bit tight to get in to so I guess may feel a bit snug, but are really comfy once on.
  14. Sorry we couldn't make it today. We are off on holiday next week for 2 weeks, but hopefully we can come along when we get back. xx carrie & J
  15. HI,we are having the same thoughts, and have put our house on the market (gulp) in a bid to get a 4 bed plus decent garden. I must admit I am having sleepless nights as love where we live and although we are staying close its not walking out of your door on to the lane. We have seen somewhere we love and its 'only' 20 mins walk from here but it feels like a bigger move somehow. I am nervous, but have a very busy 19 month old who needs space to wear himself out in!! Personally I think if we cant get what we want near enough I think we should up roots and go out of london properly, but I have no idea where we would begin looking. XX
  16. We would love to come again next week, it was lovely to meet you all, sorry we had to dash off so soon. How do i find the facebook page? x Carrie & J
  17. Hi, I have taken my son swimming with waterbabies (http://www.waterbabies.co.uk/) since he was 10 weeks old. As mentioned above they have to go into a hydro pool for the warmth until they are about 12 weeks, or above a certain weight (but cant remember what that is sorry!). It has been fantastic and my son, now18 months absolutely loves his weekly swimming lesson. It was by far the best group activity we have been to. x
  18. Tuesday is good with us too. We may be a little late as j sleeps until 3ish. It will be lovely to meet up with some new friends. Should we all carry a daffodil or something?!! X carrie
  19. Hi. I have a 18 month old boy and would love to meet up. I am back at work but only work 7 days a month so am around alot. We are free on Tuesdays and wed from 11.30. X
  20. What an arse. Its the most irritating thing when you've lost the moment and decide after you really wanted to say something thou. Wait till you have the baby- then the opinions really start to fly! I was told off by a really rather irate woman for 'suffocating' my baby under the rain cover and shopping which was in the buggy. Stupid woman didn't even apologise when i explained that as my son was in nursery and not in fact under a ton of shopping, he would probably survive!! - she just humphed off.
  21. Please please please take a car seat. I have travelled on my own and still taken one, it's a pain to lug it about but it is free to put on board. Personally I think 5 minutes is too long for a baby to sit on ur knee in a car let alone an hour. Just imagine if something were to happen, you would never forgive yourselves. I got a non isofix one which was much lighter from the forum, and that became grandparents one after the hols. X
  22. Well, as its progressed im now not convinced it was german measles. His dots never joined up!! The rash remained little spots alomost like heat rash that just doesn't go away. They are still visible on his face and bottom 11 days later. We went back to the doc's as they said to if it hadn't gone and still no idea other than viral illness. So who knows. His little buddy from nursery seems to have come down with a similar thing so theres obviously something going around as always! He also gave me something as I had temp and felt awful for 4 days last week. Oh the joys!! Hope everyone is on the mend soon. xx
  23. I didn't remember that they do rubella at your booking bloods, ta. He has had Mmr but only the first one and I know you can still get all of then until u have full immunity with the booster shot. He's ok now anyway his temp has settled was just thinking about friend. I don't particularly want him having a blood test for no reason as it wouldn't change anything anyway. It was just that he had all of the signs ie cold and lymph nodes up but his rash went the wrong way round!! Maybe I'll give him a couple of days and if it's not on it's way out we can go back to doc's. Ta for ur replies. X
  24. Hi. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with german measles? I think my son has it. He was seen by a doc on sat who diagnosed a viral rash but since then it has got much worse on his face (it started on his back and nappy area). Everything I've read says it starts on the face and works it's way down the body, which def wasn't the case with him. But it now looks like the pictures on Internet. He is ok, had 2 days of temp and not eating but seems happier this morning, but I'm just worried about my friend who we were with in the week who is pregnant. I will take him back to the doc's, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced it with their kids. Ta
  25. HI, thanks for all the replies. They insist he does settle in quite quickly after i'm gone, but he always seems a bit quiet when i pick him up for a good 20 mins or so in the evening too. Its just heartbreaking every morning, my poor mum dropped him off for the first time in ages this morning and came home in tears cos she felt so awful at leaving him. I will have a chat to the staff and see what they think, but might just have a look at other options too. thanks all xx
