  1. The press agency you are referring to is probably Mercury Press Agency. I have emailed them and they said that it was not them and the credit reads Mercury Press. This is the email they send: Neither the story, nor the picture, originated from our office here in Liverpool. We are "Mercury Press Agency" which is the by-line that normally identifies material that we supply. There may be some other "Mercury Press" elsewhere in the UK. If you manage to track down the source of the parrot picture published in the Daily Mail, I would be interested to learn the source since it may be someone "passing off" as my company.
  2. How surprising that neither Daily Mail nor the Times have published my comments to their story. This is really very small potatoes but it does bother me. I will go occupy myself with more important matters now
  3. The problem is that the story has been picked up by various papaers and websites with our picture. Not sure where it originated and who wrote the article
  4. I would also like to know which school in Nunhead is failing...
  5. we are looking into it. The story has now been posted in the Times and accross the world
  6. naturally without permission. I dont know where they got it unless it was here
  7. I just read the story in DM. What utter rubbish! And they have used the picture we took to post here... I am glad to say we fed him a better diet while he was vacationing with us! I have posted my comment to the DM forum but dont hold much hope it will appear on there
  8. Know any kids that would like to have their stories or poems published? Closing date: 31st May! http://www.redhouse.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CMSPageView?filename=YoungWriters2010&mpe_id=10703&catalogId=18251&evtype=CpgnClick&intv_id=125635&langId=100&title=Young+Writers&storeId=10151&path=/RH/ReadingRoom/WinStuff/&ddkey=http:ClickInfo
  9. It was our pleasure. And our daughter dissolved into tears the minute you left and sobbed that she wanted a parrot...
  10. Reggie has been reunited with his owners so this has been a story with a happy ending!
  11. A huge thank you for the cage to Maysel - our refugee is already happy in it!
  12. Not hurt - he is in fine spirits. Has been having some fruit and now sunflower seeds and raisins. I think if we hear nothing back we will call the RSPCA
  13. hi meduza thanks for your post. We are going door to door in a little while to see if anyone is missing their pet. I am convinced it must be local. If we get no responses can you send me a PM with your details?
  14. we have two of those as well but I think the cat smell would freak the little guy out!
  15. He (or she) is very tame. Prefers to perch on shoulders rather than anywhere else. Could not have been lost for long because it cant fly far and our cats nearly made a meal out of it. Just wish we could find owners quickly we are not set up for a pet bird in this house!
  16. thanks I have emailed. Right now apparently I have to proceed with my evening with a parrot perched on my shoulder grooming my top. Help!
  17. Just rescued him/her from our cats on Fernholme Road in Nunhead. Clearly a pet not afraid of people. Blue tag on a leg but cant read it clearly. Pic attached. Call 02072528498 if it's yours! Also if anyone has a spare cage we could borrow let us know - no idea where we can put the bird tonight
  18. the sad thing is this has all happened before about 4 years ago and we only found out when they turned us down for a mortgage because of a defaulted loan! It took ages to clear and now it's happening again. May try the Guardian route but I really think they simply target my hubby because of the last name. It's sickening that you actually waste time, energy and get stressed beyond belief simply because a debt collecting agency appears to be in the right without any proof whatsoever.
  19. we are doing all that I just wondered if it has happened to anyone else
  20. I was wondering if any of you have been victims of ID fraud or simple case of having the same name as someone that owes a lot of money... My better half is going through this nightmare AGAIN and we can't tell if it's ID fraud or debt collecting agencies chasing him for money that someone else with the same name (actually same first initial and last name) owes. It is causing us a lot of stress and time and we have nothing at all to do with it yet it will of course affect our credit history... Any advise more than welcome grrrrrr
  21. The last time I went to the Herne (some 3/4 months ago)the service was so shockingly bad (I do hope that waitress has been fired she was completely hopeless) and the food so overcooked/reheated/just plain tasteless that I have not been there since. I used go there fairly often and loved it but no more. Very disappointing.
