  1. No way should you spend ?55 on a book though no matter how good it is. Look for other editions/on other websites I think you need to bring the daytime naps to a consistent (not too late) rhythm and then tackle nights. Let us know how it goes...
  2. Oh dear - I really feel for you it sounds very tough! My daughter did not sleep through until we sleep trained her at 13months - up till then it was up 2-4 times a night and I was a wreck. I know you said you did sleep training but can you go into it a bit more? I did it early on and it did not work and only when got hold of "Solve your child's sleep problem" and read through it did I feel ready to do it properly. As long as baby eats properly and is not sick etc it should work. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solve-Your-Childs-Sleep-Problems/dp/1405319674/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1281440301&sr=8-2 Dont ask me why it's selling for so much money - maybe it's out of print? Maybe sleep is priceless? In any case you can borrow my copy if you want (but I will need it back as am expecting baby no2 in October!) If you go to Channel 4oD you can watch "Can't sleep" doc (someone on forum mentioned it I watched it yesterday. Two supposedly opposing experts are solving sleep issues. But when it really comes down to it they are both sleep training) http://www.channel4.com/programmes/who-knows-best/episode-guide/series-1/episode-1 Best of luck - it will get better!
  3. Well the cold is thankfully going away VERY slowly so I feel bit better. Heartburn still here with a vengeance - sometimes I get it just by having lost of water! Swimming has helped and I hope to keep going. THe thing I have noticed (apart from being as big at 6 months as I was at 8-9 months with previous pregnancy) is I get the occasional day where the baby seems to grow and suddenly my ribs seem to expand more and I find it impossible to breathe.
  4. Thanks I have PM Kerry about hers. But I think I will wait till baby is here before getting one - bit supersticious that way! Thanks for the reccomendation I did not know that one
  5. THis is bringing so many memories back I am not sure I can watch. And watching at 29wks pregnant maybe not best idea...
  6. I am trying to watch now... Funilly enough a friend paid for one of the experts featured on show to sleep train her daughter who was having no naps at all during the day. THat was years ago but I think it worked for her
  7. See you there will aim for 11.30
  8. Any ideas? I used to have a Medela one which worked fine but since my daughter never took the bottle I did not end up using it all that much (and have since thrown it out).
  9. I have nothing but positive memories from my daughter's birth at Kings four years ago and am due to give birth there again end of October. I too hated staying in the maternity ward afterwards (overnight) however - too hot, too loud, food terrible etc. So if I can manage it I will try to get out of there soon as baby is out and ok! A word of warning - dont park your car anywhere near a meter if you can help it. Labour can take a long time and the last thing on your mind is to feed the meter - our car was towed and we had to pay ?200 to get it back!
  10. Hi Hollie you may want to come to the cafe at Peckham Rye where a bunch of us due in Autumn are meeting on Saturday at 11am see thread http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,505117
  11. OK got so excited about to order from IKEA - but ?35 delivery!! The item costs almost as much I dont suppose anyone as an ikea trip planned soon? :(
  12. Thanks for the suggestions everyone - Fuschia I think you hit nail on the head with the expedit. I am so pleased you suggested that - somehow I missed it even though I browsed the IKEA site thoroughly
  13. oh dear I wish I caught you earlier! I have found the lego boxes on Amazon cheaper - not in stock but can preorder. I was too late to cancel my order http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lego-Storage-Brick-8-Blue/dp/B003NE5L90/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1280838360&sr=8-32
  14. I would agree about picnic but the picnic area has no toilets nearby - and I have been stuck there with a toddler needing a poo - not fun! Also it seems to me not as many of us are coming on saturday and if we sat outside at the cafe we should be ok
  15. So just to clarify we are meeting at the Cafe 11am on Saturday 7th
  16. It has been lovely meeting some of you at the Autumn Babies club meet at Cafe Nero and most supportive reading the posts on the forum. I was just wondering if there are any mums to be out there that are closer to me - in SE15 Nunhead/near Peckham Rye park area. As this is my second pregnancy I dont plan to do any antenatal/NCT classes but it would be very useful to meet mums nearby and get a tea group going. I am still friends with most mums I met through the NCT tea group with my daughter but that was four years ago and most have had second babies long ago! Let me know - am due end of October...
  17. There's a separate thread now for this but it's still a bit unclear as to when/whether we meet
  18. Sadly I have already preordered some of the lego storage boxes - the look fab dont they? Not cheap I like the gltc stuff but it is so expensive
  19. My daughter's room is constantly in total chaos with books scattered everywhere (she is fond of carrying a bunch of them downstairs every morning)not to mention dolls and little plastic bits etc We are also expecting a little brother come end of October - possibly sharing the room. Looking for a storage system (or any other way to control the chaos) that is not the cheap plastic kind but doesn't cost the earth either. Any ideas?
  20. going for bloods next friday. Feeling bit better today even went swimming - got many many leg cramps but it was good. Now getting another weird symptom: restless legs - not funny although I looked like a lunatic and also floating light in my eyes which I know is a migraine precursor. What fun
  21. Was thinking more around 2pm - if we meet early it will be lunchtime for most toddlers/babies. 7 or 8th?
  22. Thought I would start a new thread for this as old one is very long. Fancy meeting at Peckham Rye cafe on August 7 or 8th? Partners and older babies/toddlers welcome. I would love to see you all again
  23. Thanks linzkg another forum member kindly offered a belt which I will hopefully get soon. May even try swimming today as I am off work. My daughter woke up several times last night (with a nightmare? who knows...) so I am even more knackered than usual
  24. Just a very quick post to ask people for feedback about the use of bellybands. I am thinking of getting one because I feel it would help support my bump and easy some back discomfort but I dont know if they actually do anything. One thing I hate is feeling constricted so if they are really tight and uncomfortable I guess it would be no use?
