What about if I spend a lot of money on drugs and alchohol...to get me wasted?

As an antipodean immigrant, I must say that this very British habit of going to a garden centre at Christmas sounded like the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard when I first was made aware of it. I thought it was a joke. It Just seemed so strange to me, a garden centre at xmas?...so Is it Petrol station at Easter? Now that I've been here 10 years, and also have an English better half, I have come to be more culturally sensitive to your strange and ancient customs....

Unless I contact them myself, then no one owes me anything....

So...early evening/late evening.....I will prefer pointless every time over chaser, because I like Alex amstrong and Richard osman..... But I prob prefer the chaser game....

I think this is a massive over-reaction. Sure some media outlets (like the DM) publish complete rubbish, which can be inflammatory. Those smart enough to see it for what it is just choose not to read it it, or read it in the context of it being a one-sided, over the top view. Those that take it at face value are unlikely to be influenced or swayed by a campaign such as this.

Social media gives people a mouthpiece, and somehow people think their views have more credibility when they 'speak' on these platforms. We truly live in a high opinion, low information age.

Sea bags comment is fair. I am a Brexit voter. But I agree that it's too complicated for the public to decide. Even ITG a massive civil department, it's going to be tricky. So know one knows, and if you don't like uncertainty, then Brexit is not good

Intellectual warfare then....

Unfort email is easy to ignore. The best builders are always the ones with a name and a mobile number. They don't need a website or email

So...is there really a class warfare thing here?

Warning: another BREXIT thread..... ...but with a slightly different focus. Rather than debate the for's and against as have been done ad nauseum, I wonder why it is that Brexit has become so personal? (versus many other very passionate political debates) Why is there such distrust, animosity and one-up-manship between leavers and remainers? I admit to being drawn into this also, having had quite heated conversations with real friends and social media friends alike. I know it is a big decisions, huge, and this ignites passions, but why such acrimony and an inability of many on both sides of the fence to even appreciate (even if they disagree with) the opposing arguments?

That seems like a long time. I'd be politely following up with them after a week, unless they specifically said the quote would take longer

Huge sums are going to be spent on a highly > polluting form of transport used primarily by the > wealthy, whilst cleaner forms of transport of more > benefit to the less well off - regional railway > networks for example - get no investment. ...or....airport fees come down for budget airlines, who are now able to fly out of heathrow and keep fares reasonable, thus making budget travel through a hub much more accessible to London's poor.... not strictly my position at all...but just using it as an example of the fcat that I belive arguments can be made that there could be benefits for not just the wealthy... -

No matter your views on climate change or new runways, to me it just smacks of political cynicism (or savvy, depending on your viewpoint I suppose) to make it into a 'class warfare' argument.... -
Must still be in 'soft' opening mode, as Mrs Cat tried to check it out for lunch yesterday and it was closed. The 'fake' review looks like an attemp to perhaps influence internet searches (seo) not just the EDF, as I've seen the exact same review on the hot dinners website.

Said to my wife just this week, that what I really would love around here is a decent Greek place; and hey presto.... perhaps I should have wished for something else though....

Each year the fascination is whether they can find candidates with an unprecedented level of 'twatness'. Indications are good in that regard this year. It's not a business show, it's 'made in Chelsea' with business-like tasks. As long as you accept that for what it is, it's good car crash comedy.

No, I didn't know that. But thanks. And my original question was about local private doctors, not those in the city/ wharf..... You seem to have a helpful, but agenda driven, point......
-
I'm Outside of the corp system. I used to be, but no more. There is the private market outside the corp structure. That is what I'm after. I know people get sensitive about the Nhs going private. While I support the nhs, I support my own family's selfish needs more. Harsh, but true
-
Thanks. This is obviously not for everything, but very handy when you just need some advice or a prescription....
-
When I worked in Central London, and needed a Doctor pronto, there's plenty of nearby options to just go private and see someone straight away (Sameday GP, CityDoctor etc) for ~?60. I now work at home in ED, and while I could of course wait 2 weeks for an appointment and pay nothing, I've been trying to find a similar private GP in this area, and the best google can find for me is surgeries back in the City. Does anyone know of somewhere around here like this?

You know what, I'm actually really starting to warm to Corbyn supporters. I mean how would we get by without inspired political events such as this little gem... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/26/jeremy-corbyns-supporters-have-been-writing-poems-about-him-and/

I understand the machinations perfectly well thanks. My issue is with the hypocrisy (the sentence on which you've chosen to selectively remove when quoting my message). Theresa May has been elected leader fair and square also, by the party members.

it also winds me up every time I hear that Corbyn has a 'mandate'.....in my view he has nothing of the sort from the electorate. He has one from 300k labour members, but what of the 'mandate' given to 172MP's who were voted in by the electorate? I don't recall the electorate giving a 'mandate' to Jeremy Corbyn. This is particularly galling, when usually these same people claim that Theresa May has no 'mandate' because nobody voted for her as pm. But I guess hypocrisy has never really been an issue for the idealistic hard left.....
