  1. Has anyone ventured past Co-op today? If I worked there, I'd be polishing up the CV....
  2. Hopefully it will become an Iceland. Just pop a few microwaves out the front, and hey presto...
  3. With regards to 'Destination M&S' and potential parking problems. I agree there may be something of an increase in car's around, but the fact that there are not any parking facilities will surely mean that people will choose not to drive there, as 'parking is a nightmare'. Furthermore, I dont think they necessarily need parking to justify the Food Hall format. No one drives to Co-Op, and they will likely take the majority of Co-op's business in my view, plus the extra few people who do actually drive. Although as I said, I cant see this number being too high. If i want M&S, I'd walk, if I need a bigger shop, I'd just ensure I could park easily by going to DKH sainsbury's
  4. I think the fact that he used the front grill, and not the exhaust pipe, shows that he cares for and respects the van...
  5. If we all stop posting on the Forum, UK energy usage would decline by over 27%...
  6. I gave some to a Nigerian prince who needed it to regain his fortune. I should be getting my payment any day now.

  8. I've not been in myself, but The Plough Cafe next to little Sainsbury's on Lordship lane is always full of tradies (a few coppers in there too) in the morning. I know because I usually drop in at Little Sainsbury's about 7:45am, and its a mission to park anywhere around all the tradies trucks and vans.
  9. "ED's greatness"?? Must be similar to the 'Glory of Rome'....
  10. Theft, Shootings (last week), muggings (on Barry road last month)....those complaining about gentrification should be pleased, sounds just like the good old days... seriously though, thanks for the heads up, worth being vigilant...
  11. many thanks
  12. Apols if this has been covered elsewhere. I am wondering which, if any, local pubs do a quiz night on a Monday night? Thanks in advance to the collective wisdom of the Forum

But the original list was in reponse to DoverTheRoad's list which was just based on what Deliveroo deliver to East Dulwich....so a number of those fine establishments are out of bounds!:)
  14. I would also add, that a number of people on here have referenced the fact that you could 'cook it at home' for much cheaper than getting it delivered. I don't think this is news to anyone ordering takeaway. I think perhaps you are missing the whole point of getting a takeaway....

As a big fan of the burger (apparently someone with more money than sense according to this thread), I would submit my own ranking as follows... Burger Bear, Honest, Tommis, Gourmet BK, Flying Pig. The one caveat I would add, which dovetails in with the OP, is that Tommis chicken burgers are terrible and I would not recommend ordering, but their beef burgers I think are up there. We also had Patty & Bun in Peckham on deliveroo for a little while, which trumped them all. Look forward to MeatLiquor joining the fray.

So, to clarify, according to you, one must be the exact same gender, ethnicity, age and religion to be able to comment or express an opinion about someone else? So as I am not a woman, my opinions on anything to do with women are invalid? Because heaven knows, I've never, ever heard a woman telling a man how to live his life.....
  17. holloway Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Franklins' wood fired chicks certainly look good > although at ?15 a bird I'd rather eat roadkill. I agree that both Signal and Franklins are pricey if you just compare it to buying a chicken from the shop and roasting it. But when compared to what we would normally spend on another form of takeaway, when you cant be bothered to make anything, its not too bad...and makes a nice change from Curry/fish&chips/pizza etc....
  18. I second this. The Signal roast chicken is streets ahead of Franklins. We've had both a number of times through Deliveroo and the decision is clear.

Black lives matter. We > should > > all be saying it, with no fear at all that it > > diminishes the value of white lives. It doesn't! This is a nice little analogy, and did make me think a little more about this BLM vs ALM issue. But where this analogy falls down is in the assumption that everyone else ALWAYS get's their food. If Jane also didnt get her food, and bill kept saying 'Bill deserves food' then I think we would all think that a little insensitive, no? As RendelHarris's stats point out...Bill is not the only one who doesnt get his food....
  20. The Lane could really benefit from an Iceland
  21. The flats above Iceland/m&s
  22. Happy enough that its going to be a vet, but from a business perspective to me it seems like a waste of money for a vet to take high street commercial space. Vet's are the type of business that I wouldn't think really need high street exposure or footfall, so could easily save some cash with back street premises. but hey, their business, so I could be wrong....
  23. That you've felt the need to mention that they are 'done good' types...hurts your whole case.... Suck it up, and talk about them on social media while they talk about you....ohh wait....
