If you're into rum, dancing and not caring what you look like, and dressing up in your natty dreds...then come down to this soundsystem on Monday 25th. It's my 7th year as a faithful skanker. See some of you there....? It's an experience not to be missed. The stage sets are, well, mind blowing to say the least. 8. Gaz's Rockin'Blues For: Classic ska, revival and New Orleans R&B Who? Gaz 'Rockin blues' Mayall, Jason 'The Cumbria Kid' Mayall, Natty Bo, Jim Lad, The Legendary Duke Vin, Tommy Diamond, Count Cassavubu, Sir Bunny and The Ramjam Brothers Where? - Talbot Rd, outside number 103 MW

I think we should all pour oursleves another glass of wine. Then irrational seems distant and somewhat less silly! :))

Ripen, ripen? Oh sweet Jesus on a bike, NOW I'm depressed. They tried to make me go to rehad but I said .....nah!

if you think there's a huge monster/killer/psycho/ waiting in it to get you.......then it's irrational.

I lie awake as well staring at the door handle of the bedroom door to turn by itself and in walks......well I shudder to think. When I come home to an empty house the first place I check is UNDER THE BED. I kid you not. Then the wardrobe. sounds crazy but tis true. It's exhausting sometimes.

I've never come down that's why I'm Madworld. I kid you not.

Dear Chris We often see you in the pub working like a trojan, and for that we salute you! So please don't be upset by the comments I have made. We like to pop down on a sunday night, and can see the place has had an absolute battering from the chaos during the day. All I would like to ask is that the tables are cleaned an little more thoroughly in the bar area, the toilets also. If the toilets are grubby it doesn't bode well for the kitchen cleanliness (that's in my experience at having worked in the catering/restaurant industry on and off for 10 years) And lastly the place seems a bit thin on the ground with furniture indoors. It has some horrid function and banqueting chairs in the saloon bar area which really do the place no justice. It's a great space and has so much potential. Many thanks MW

Steady on TJ, no need to get personal. What I consider good dining may not be someone else's idea. All I said was that the place needs a thorough clean and for some TLC to be spent on the furniture. No need for you to go off onto one about elbows and arses. Thanks.

I was in the FHT this evening, and they have flyers up for another three club nights finishing at 3am, coming up real soon. They've cornered a part of the market that is just not in ED, and that's to go out dancing (to club anthems)(choon) and for that they've got business savy. Business savy because if you fancy an old skool knees up who the in their right minds would want to go down The Fridge and risk getting jumped. As for the noise, I appreciate it can be loud and a bloody nuisance but don't get involved by shouting out the window "why can't you shut the f*ck up you wankers"..as tempting as it is. Contact the council and until they do something, keep a log of the noise (time started and ended) and.... wear earplugs. I wear earplugs and I can't hear a thing.

oh! hang on a minute! let me drag out my rifle from under the stairs and go out into the night and pump some lead into that fox cub.Do it a favour. As you can appreciate PGCrasher, not everyone has the same 'outlook' on how to deal with animals in pain as bigbadwolf. Thank God. Each to their own, ay.
-
only my defense mechanism, not agression. And people only defend themselves usually when they are being singled out. And yes, I don't expect everyone in ED to feel the same way as I do, so indeed there was bound to be some 'differing' opinions. You make it sound very underhand and calculated Jimbob. Nothing nearly as exciting as that, I assure you.

The forum is a place to share experiences, good/bad, happy/not so happy. It's a place to make people aware and for ideas and thoughts to be passed from one to another. I had no secret objective in mind, other than to write about something that I had experienced. I also knew full well that some would not share the same attitude as me, but that's essentially what a forum is all about, isn't it?

BBW, everyone deals with an upsetting situation in their own way. We are all psychologically different. So comments like 'get a grip, 'get a life' are not something that are needed here. 'but I didn't feel emotional about it and didn't rush off to tell everyone about it on the internet because as they say, 'it's just one of those things'. If the above was how you preferred to deal with that fact that you shot a bear in the head, then that's entirely up to you. I would make no comment on your decision because I wasn't there and wouldn't be so rude. Please do not continue to surmise that I need any sympathy from any of you, and that I somehow am so emotionally cripple that I need to come onto a forum in order to make myself feel better.

wine always seems like a good idea, until you find our brain seeping out through your ears and onto the pillow the next morning......aarrrgggghh, and it's all wines that do it! Maybe I'm just a lightweight (no that's not it), but you get my drift.

As were a few other postings. It all went on from there. Oh well. I won't rise to the bait (oh God) anymore.

It was a wrong thing to do) DPF.... I don't know who you are so I have no idea why you seem to have some personal beef with me? Are you insinuating that I came onto the forum with my 'sad little tale' of the poor, dying fox cub, to get tea and sympathy, so that people would,um... 'like me'? I couldn't care less if people like me or not. Never have and never will. That was not the reasoning for the posting.

Please be careful JenSpen. I've been accused of 'eliciting sympathy' on this forum because of this posting. Whatever. A lesson regarding posion has been learnt and I now want to make sure as many local residents are aware of the perils. Thanks JS. (tu)

There is only one mad lady around here and tis I....apparantly I patronise, I get all unecessary, I'm sanctimonius, I'm conducting a behind the scenes whispering campaign AND I demand all sorts of sympathy. Sounds pretty bonkers to me. Where's that chicken leg got to....

I have in the past posted my thoughts on this forum about others topics, and said what I thought and had people getting snotty with me. Double standards. I say what I think to other people and they get all upity. Now why don't you all get back to the sujbect of fox hunting. Get your teeth into it.

EDF......thousands of people PM'ing you?... maybe when you go on holiday, you will relax enough to come back and have something nice to say about people. You sound incredibly bitter, if you don't mind me saying so. As for 'santimonious posters', I have no idea to whom your refer. Lastly I am certainly not wanting to elicit any of your sympathy.
-
Sorry JJF but I get very upset by some people's lack of sensitivity to this subject, I didn't mean to snap or sound heavy with you. :) And DPF, your comments whether they were said tongue in cheek or straight down the line in all sincerity, either way I am not impressed. Neither will some of the other posters that have contacted me by PM about 'certain' forumites lack of tack.

You and I DPF, should meet up. I'd sure love to meet you face to face.
