  6. I had applied for a job with AIG in East Croydon...and the agent rang me up last Friday. He left a message about 'news on the position'. I was hoping it would be about an interview...but I dont think it was!!
  7. Is there going to be a health and fitness club built behind Talbot Road and Abbotswood Road? Today, we received a printed email from a resident about the proposed development. Im trying to picture where the developers plan it. Does anyonne know any more info on this gym?
  8. I think avatars are a great idea. I post on another website forum which has avatars and photos...and I can immediately identify with a lot of fellow users. I guess that this site is written in the same language mysql/php ?

  10. Last Sunday, I went to Curry Cabin with my mum. We had a lovely Sunday buffet lunch...very fresh and filling. We were worried about the restaurents closing early...but most of the places had the buffet on till late which was good news!!

Emma my neighbour and i turned up and wasnt sure where the EDF people were..but Sean came over and found us.Thanks Sean for making us very welcome.:) It was really nice to meet loads of new faces and fortunately Im able to remember most ..err even put names to faces!! Inc CitizenEd, JamesCornell, Sean, Georgia... The staff at the the Duke were really friendly. The eats looked lovely but I had eaten a massive takeaway curry with my mum before we came out!! EDT was great fun and nice carry on...though i was ready to stumble home... no late night kebab or Adventure. We've been here a month and its really nice to meet loads of new people on EDF and make new friends.
  13. Is it a long walk from the roundabout at end of Lordship Lane near EDT?
  14. On Monday, I popped into Adventure bar. I must say the staff were really friendly gave me a warm welcome..chatted about their plans.. The manager came over after a while and asked me how my drinks were. They were doing a special 2 for 1 on cocktails. I haven?t see the bar in action on a Friday or Saturday night?so might be a different picture?.but if you fancy a nice drink midweek then check it out. I do hope the bar staff keep up their friendly service to the punters!
  15. Hey Peeps Sorry this might sound like a silly question...but how I will know what group in the pub are from EDF? Will there be a sign...or do I look for the loudest bunch in there?

  18. Thanks guys I found this link to the the workhouse in Constance Road....I think the picture halfway down is our estate...as viewed from the football ground?
  19. Ive just moved into the estate near Sainsburys on St Francis Drive...behind Dulwich Hamlets football ground. I was curious to find out the history of this site...ie when was it built, what was there before? Ive read that the Hamlet Football ground was formally located on what is now Sainsburys.. I heard that there used to be a hospital here..is that true?
  20. Hey Nico Best of luck with your plans for your new bar. Id like to echo the previous posters thoughts with the following: -- Friendy barstaff with no attitude -- Good food menu with weekend brunch -- Good kiddie access -- Quality sound system..but not so loud that you cant hear what your mate is speaking (or is that me just getting old!!) -- Wii Sports Yes our previous local recently had a big projector and wii sports including Tennis and Bowling. Oooh that was soo much fun...great pull for punters Also really important for landlord to have a good rapport and get to know his regulars. Makes all the difference giving a warm welcome to folk and makes them feel at home.
  21. Hey guys Thanks for that Yeah Fudge the 24hr Sainsburys was one of the things that attracted me to this particular area!!

  24. Hi there We are due to move to East Dulwich very shortly..near the big Sainsburys and Dulwich Hamlet football club. There is a path that runs behind the football ground parallel with Burrow Road. We have been told that we can use this as a short cut to get to JAGs gym in North Dulwich. Is this true? I looked at google maps..and the path looks as if it runs just to the beginning of Burrow Road? Thanks Chris
