  1. Hi there everyone, I know I'm ridiculously late, but I would love to join this group. I've sent Kelly my details for the WhatsApp Group. I'm due the first week of November with my third - my twins are just turning 3. BRACE, BRACE! :-) I look forward to meeting all of you.
  2. That's the easiest 25k I've ever made. And to all those who went today...I'm having a wild guess here...but was it kind of like all their other stores?
  3. Good thinking. I called last number dialled. Thanks!
  4. On a bench on Dulwich Village. PM me with a description if it's yours.
  5. Carnac. Quiberon. Big west coast beaches.
  6. I would say do your research and play the long game. Have you ever met her at her step with a man at 8am? Best stop there if you have. If not, you will bump in to her at your front door at some point - no need to engineer the situation. When you do strike up a chat about something in the house / foxes in the street at night / upcoming ED events - anything. See if there is any chemistry and read the signs. Does she look you in the eye often but then glance away when you catch her eye? Does she mirror your posture? If all is looking good, ask her if she's been to the new pub which just opened (CPT?). Or ask her if she would like to check out an ED specific event - maybe the Barry Barry Run? This could be taken as either just a friendly neighbourly drink or... once you put alcohol into the situation the night will develop one way or another. And if you pop a post up here to let us know where you will be we can all come down and watch the play by play! I'm hoping she finds you as lovely and romantic as I thought you were.
  7. See attached petition to remove financial benefits for anyone convicted of criminal acts during the riots. If 100,000 sign it it will be discussed in Parliament. It would probably have a bit more cred if the author used his spell check. :-) http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/7337
  8. The Lordship Lane they are referring to on the radio is Lordship Lane in Tottenham.
  9. Goose Green Team, I know what you mean! A number of years ago now (crikey!) my friends and I also squatted a property. It was an old bank which had been left empty for about 1 year. There was a lovely flat upstairs - we entered through double doors with grand columns in front, walked up the lovely staircase with a mahogany balustrade, and when you reached the flat itself it was just lovely. Hardwood floors, double high ceilings, a fireplace in every room, a huge claw foot tub. Absolutely gorgeous. So my friends and I moved in, we were all working, I was a marketing assistant at the time, so fully suited and booted. We had a great year there before the Canary Wharf bombings, when the police decided to investigate all the empty properties near to major transport links for possible terrorists. So, one Sunday night while sitting in our jim jams with a cup of tea we were a bit shocked to suddenly have our lounge filled with coppers. But the police were very kind, said what a great place it was and that it ?wasn?t like the usual squats?, refused a cup of tea, but said they would have to tell the bank. We moved out over the next few days, and a few months later they tore the place down, which made me very sad. Ah well, I had a great year with great friends and we saved loads of money. And, like you said, we took care of the place, it was most defo in better shape than we found it. Houses go down hill quickly if they are left unoccupied. Good luck to you, enjoy and do no harm.

  11. I was in the cafe at 9.30am and it had started. A small but good natured affair. You could tell the Dulwich College gents as they had a cavalry style charge technique picked up from their military History classes. It was still going at 10.30am as more people joined in...but I like all snow ball fights I correctly predicted it would soon get out of hand. They always did in my day!
  12. Yes, some businesses obviously suffered today, but some small business clearly did very well indeed. I popped in to Franklins today for a winter warmer and it was absolutely packed. Everyone was having a great chat, lovely tunes were on, the snow was softly falling outside, and everyone had a great laugh at the bloke who walked down Lordship Lane with a snowman head balanced on his head. What a lovely cozy afternoon. I for one did not missing the office at all!
  13. Thanks all - this happened on Landells Road - it could have been worse as nothing sentimental was taken. The interior doors were deadlocked (and they were completely shredded) but the exterior door unfortunately was not as one of the tenants didn't have keys to it. Lesson learned and it will be deadlocked forevermore! The police did come around and dust and they were lovely, although I don't know if anything will come of their findings.
