To the O.P. I say.....REALLY? Do you have any evidence or proof to back this up? This seems to go entirely against the grain as to what has been posted on this forum on other threads in the past. We currently have a formal complaint lodged with the governing body against the firm and against the particular manager of whom you speak so highly. I am unable to go into any detail here and now, as we do not wish to prejudice any enquiry outcome, but needless to say we actually do have proof (written and covertly recorded phone calls) of this firm's/individual's duplicitous behaviour. We will post all on here in due course, always assuming permission and having first obtained clearance from the moderators. As the post appears to coincide with the possible timing of notification to them from the governing body, we are left wondering if you (the O.P.) have a tangible connection with them. As stated, we have proof of what we have written, do you?

robbin......it certainly was prosecuted as "theft of electricity" back in my day, this being effectively the electricity used to make the hoax call ie: the calls are free and that "free charge" has been abused. I accept what you say though, that the wording of the offence may have been tweaked in recent times.

MVH....had such a thing happen many years ago when on duty. A neighbour had the hump with another having a bonfire, called us out and meanwhile there was a house fire on our patch that had a delayed attendance from a neighbouring station. Thankfully was not a fatal fire. Sadly, this does occur quite a lot. If it can be proved that such a call was made intentionally knowing the information being passed was false, then the caller can be criminally charged and the charge being one of stealing electricity (abuse of the emergency service number). As everyone is probably aware, all calls are entirely traceable, so a criminal record could follow.

KidKruger,that's nice to hear. Think our Mother might have known her, we can remember her talking of an Evelyn. Please don't take this the wrong way, but make sure you continue to do this. Where I live, outside of London in a small village, we all look out for each other regardless of age.For example, we organise Xmas lunches paid by us for the older folk. They in turn look out for others property when out at work all day. It is a proper community, looking out for each other. Jeremy, we are not putting blame on neighbours, nothing could have been done, that is why we have deliberately allowed a passage of time before replying, otherwise it would have looked exactly like that, misplaced grief. The point is you, that is to say the royal you, seem to feel there is a great helpful caring community spirit, but people walked on by with their heads held down hoping not to be noticed at a time of need. I do realise this is the way of the world in a large city nowadays. Anyway, thanks to you both for replying, we shall not post on here again, but felt it polite to reply to your replies. We had been unable to contact our Mother for a couple of days, and my sister upon arriving with her young daughter could not get in, due to the front door being chained up. Nobody passing in the street and going into nearby houses came to her assistance despite hearing her frantic shouts through the slightly opened door. So much for the great community spirit. She had to call the Police as fear and trepidation had set in and with good reason. Our Mother had suffered a massive heart attack and had passed away. I see from your "history" more concern for a car mirror than your neighbours. Not surprising, seeing as you are an estate agent. Uncleglen, turns out to be a wholly inappropriate comment really, about resusitating, wouldn't you agree. Yes/No? It is believed Mother had been dead for a couple of days. It is truly regrettable that the big lunch community party that had taken place the previous day (Sunday) and purporting to be an event that particularly catered for the young and old,which Mother had always attended and supported, had not had the organisers knock on her door enquiring after her welfare,even though Mother was the longest permanent resident of the street (78 yrs.) now that really would have shown community spirit. So now you know.

Our experience when looking to market the family home was an extremely condescending one with regard to KFH. The agent when he visited the house seemed very conceited, preferring to continually look in the mirror and adjust his hair and tie whilst speaking,rather than provide some tangible information. The house is in need of updating and modernisation and when discussing the different figures involved came the most arrogantly offensive, supercilious and insolent remark you could possibly want to hear, "people like you don't have the money or resources to do it". Needless to say, they didn't get our instructions, but it is worth noting that when we mentioned this attitude to other estate agents within a stone's throw of KFH's offices, they all replied that they weren't in the least bit surprised to hear it! So if you choose them, be prepared for such incongruous behaviour.

The London Door Company in Penge advertises widely around the area. Not used them but had loads of mail-shots. Just a pointer seeing as they are local.

We can only assume that these appointments were depriving someone who, how can we put this, was ACTUALLY STILL LIVING !! Patients of DMC: No apology was ever forthcoming from them to us. So glad I am not a patient there.
