  1. I personally have no problems whatsoever with the word 'mama' as that is how we say 'mum' in Polish, and in many other languages actually. I bet your kids actually said 'mama' for the first time, rather than 'mum' or 'mummy', so I don't understand why that should annoy anyone. Of course, I'm all for a light-hearted laugh, but I did also notice the sort of made-up group naming (yummy mummy, etc.), as Convex noticed earlier, which is just bull**** in my humble opinion (oh, how I was tempted to write IMHO!), hehehe. Now, being referred to as 'Mummy' by a health visitor is just lack of professionalism and smacks of over-protectiveness.
  2. This is great! I've just been to one and my 5-month old loved it. Here's the description from the website: Whippersnapper baby and toddler music classes run across our two sites: Brockwell Lido in Brockwell Park SE24 and College Lodge in Dulwich Park SE 21. Classes are themed and last 45 minutes and include inter-active songs, role play, dressing up, handmade props, djembe drums, musical instruments, puppets, disco dancing and sensory lights. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays we run pre crawler sensory stay and play music sessions, suitable for new borns and babies up to approximately 12 months. http://whippersnappers.org/0-5-years-old/baby-and-toddler-music-class/lambeth/brixtonherne-hill/
  3. Great!!! I hope this little kitten finds his owner! :)
  4. Hi, I just had a knock on the door from a builder working at 92 Melbourne Grove, asking me if I hadn't lost a small black cat - he says the cat'd wandered in there. The guy has locked up the place now but he will be back tomorrow - perhaps you could go there to check if that's your cat? I'm only posting this as I've seen 'Small black cat missing' notices around East Dulwich recently.
  5. Oh, and I've only recently discovered Oddono's and I have to say - it's paradise. Reminds of a trip to Italy many years ago when I would eat ice cream three times a day, it was so good. Hope I don't end up going to Oddono's three times a day, or even a week, or these ice creams will start showing round my waist!! BTW, so far the hazelnut flavor is my favourite - real nuts inside!

  9. Hello, We're a Polish-Brazilian acoustic duo from East Dulwich and we finally have a chance to play locally! :) On August 3rd (next Sunday) will serve you a musical feast of bossa nova, samba and Latin rhythms, lightly seasoned with some zesty jazz. Warm silky vocals combined with the richness of a classical Brazilian 7-string guitar are bound to enchant the audience and even induce some hip swinging. Venue: The Patch, 211 Lordship Lane, SE22 8HA London, United Kingdom FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1440983842846378/?fref=ts If you would like to know more about us, just ask or visit: https://www.facebook.com/PolkaNovaLondon
