Hello Romnarz, I came to find out about it because they've had signs up for a few weeks, and I've spoken with them a few times to find out about their new venture. I think the golden age of the internet forum may have passed, so we may not hear from them on here; although I've shared the thread along with all of your kind words. Do give them a follow on social media though, and make sure you pop in! Good people drink good wine, and the menu (once live) will be something to look forward to.

Just for clarity, it's not my restaurant. I'm just really hyped about Georgian food and wine on our doorstep. To my understanding, the food menu is being finalised, but below is a short video of a nice american couple trying a few Georgian staples that should give you an idea of what to expect "Every Georgian dish is a poem", Alexander Pushkin ..... I would probably add that it's worth following them on whatever social media channel(s) you use with the links in my original post. That's probably the easiest way to keep up-to-date with their menu etc.
  3. Hello dear friends of the East Dulwich Forum. I'm popping this post on to make you all aware of the new Georgian Restaurant which opened yesterday. It's on Lordship Lane opposite Co-op on the premises formerly held by Tart and Le Chardon... don't worry, they have continued to preserve the wonderful interiors. Some of you might be unaware of Georgian culture, let alone experienced its magical cuisine. That's why I'm writing this post - because you should. For a small country, it punches way above its weight in terms of wine (it lays claim to its very invention!) and the food they sell at the moment is the perfect treat to accompany this. They also sell Borjomi mineral water, which is from a very famous mountain spa town in Georgia that the Romanovs used to frequent. It's very good, and apparently cures hangovers (I wouldn't know!). Anyway, the reason for my post is to make you aware of the fact that it opened yesterday as a takeaway. So please pop in and say hello. They are a really nice team of people, and will welcome you wholeheartedly into their world, and their food and wine is wonderful; unlike anything you are likely to have experienced before. oh - they are on social media too, so give them a follow... https://www.instagram.com/kartuli.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/KartuliUK/ take care
  4. Thanks for your replies. I think i?ll need to return it. FML
  5. Hello ED Forum. Looking for some info. as I've found myself in a slightly annoying situation. Purchased a new Henry the Hoover on eBay, but it's arrived and it's got a yellow industrial plug as opposed to the standard UK domestic one. attached is a snap if need be. Does anyone know if there are adaptors which will allow this to be used in a household? The alternative is that I return it, and write an angry email to the vendor for not making this obvious. Thanks in advance to anyone that may have any knowledge around this. I wasn't sure where else to turn.
  6. I went recently and I have to say that I was very underwhelmed. They seem like a decent bunch, but the food we had really did fall short of the mark. A really disappointing experience, unfortunately.
  7. Gowlett is the a great pub, and my fav. in the local area. Fingers crossed that any dispute can be resolved.

Hi Sue, that's a really useful response. Can I ask what the size / room numbers of your property is?

  10. Hello, I am offering private drumming tuition for anybody interested. I am based approximately between the Actress and the Bishop and can either accommodate at my place, or come to you. Individual lessons are available for anybody (regardless of age or ability) wishing to learn new rudiments or scores and work on technique and application. Learn how to apply more dynamics, flow and musicality to your playing. All lessons will be accompanied with a hand-written sheet, which will detail the rudiments, phrases, scores and techniques studied during the lesson with added tips, which you can take away for future reference. If you, or anyone else you know, has an interest in drumming and would like to find out more - feel free to get in touch.

  13. 'Cravings' on Peckham Rye has some mental opening hours. I've tried to go on a Saturday and a Sunday around mid afternoon and both times it's been shut.

  16. Hello, Has anybody used the new fleet of buses recently introduced to the 40 bus route? If so you will have no doubt noticed that they have replaced the traditional bell sound with something akin to a panic alarm. I didn't think the experience of the bus could get any worse, until now. I would like to register my disgust.
  17. conclusion in this instance was a lack of communication / courtesy from the neighbours. very naughty. anyway, life goes on.
  18. I think the access is necessary, it's just been done in a discourteous way. we shall see what the powers that be say. I would think that you'd need some sort of planning consent to do this.
  19. slight language barrier unfortunately. awaiting info from the guy that owns our flat before reaching for the shotgun.

  21. we rent at the mo. I think that in this instance - it's just a case of a communication breakdown. would be interested to understand whether anyone on here had experienced anything similar and how these things would generally be approached.

  23. Our neighbours are getting work done and the builders seem to be appearing and doing things in our garden willy nilly. is this customary in these parts? we weren't given any heads up either way.
