  1. If this mast gets built, will it benefit users of all of the mobile networks (O2, EE etc) or only a limited number of them? Also, does anyone know what the likely range will be that it benefits? The map that Villager posted shows a black hole and it would be helpful to know whether this new mast (if built) will fill that hole or only part of it? It may be that it will, but the further away the user is the less the potential benefit in improved signal? It will clearly be an eyesore, but in weighing that up against the potential benefit, it would be helpful to understand what the potential benefit actually is.
  2. I know that there has been a few threads on the fun and games at London Bridge at the moment, but I have been trying to find out information on when (if ever...!) this is likely to improve and haven't been able to get very far. Does anyone know if there are any specific dates/milestones coming up over the next few months/years as a result of which we are likely to see an improvement (such as the reinstatement of some of the platforms perhaps). Or is there no particular prospect of significant improvement until the works are complete in 2018? And, dare I even say it, is there even a realistic expectation that when the works are complete in 2018 things will be better than now (or better than before the redevelopment started)? I'm not trying to start another thread of venting frustrations about the works (totally understandable though that is!). But instead was hoping to see if anyone has any specific insight about specific dates/milestones and their likely impact. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be very interested in hearing any informed opinions about this. Thanks
  3. I had some bedroom furniture made recently by Rafal Lubecki of RWL Carpentry (07749443569) and as I found him via a recommendation on this forum I thought I'd pass on the recommendation for anyone else looking. I have been really pleased with the end result - solid, well-made furniture at a reasonable price and delivered on time and to the design I requested. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend him to others.
  4. I saw there was lots of helpful advice on the thread about kitchens, so I thought I would try my luck in relation to gardens in the hope that are equally mums out there who have done some work on their gardens. We are looking to re-do our very tired and messy garden so that it is in good shape for the Spring/Summer. It is a small garden and we're looking to remove all of the current nasty shrubs etc and replace them with more attractive and appropriate ones, and returf the lawn. We are not looking for a very obviously "designed" or formal garden, but do need someone who knows what they are doing in terms of recommending what to plant and when etc, and generally give the garden a bit of love and attention. We would be very grateful for any recommendations or guidance. Thanks!

  6. I would be grateful for any recommendations for companies/individuals to service my gas fireplaces please. Thanks
  7. I used Jeffrey recently to move some tables and he was great - very helpful, personable and punctual. Reasonable price too. His number is 07799 324 455.
  8. Just to follow up on my original post in case it's helpful for anyone, I ended up using Paul the handyman (as recommended by quite a few others on this forum). He was excellent and sorted everything for me. He also did the simple electrics (e.g. changing a light) and said he could do some others (e.g. fitting a new plug) but advised me to get an electrician for them just to be sure. Paul was polite, punctual and did a great job for a reasonable cost. I'd definitely recommend him to others - 07843 877284. Now to find an electrician...
  9. Hi I'm looking for a handyman to help with various things around the house, including a few involving simple electrics work. I'd be very grateful for any recommendations. I've done a search of the forum and found a few recommendations for handymen, but not seen any that mention electrics work. Thanks.
