  1. Answering the first question regarding why so much animosity I think it s very simple: It does effect ppl in very day life. As for last recession we, in london, saw it happening maybe 1 year later (depending where you were on the ladder at that time) this one is already started but we ll see negative sooner or later. I have a friend that is leaving his teaching position at University as his worried he might not get the same money anymore on his big house. I have a family friend that runs a mid size business in here with restaurant and shops in centre that is moving warehouse in France...just in case. At my fav market 2 own holders from europe importing delicatessen told me they might not be there after winter as the euro situation is killing main part of their earnings and they are already struggling. All those people and business work in here. they employ other ppl...this other ppl have families kids and bills..they rely on this money. They inject the money back in shops hospital taxes etc Friend of mine told me last year same months after brexit he had 30 viewings in 30 days for his second house. this year same month after brexit he had 3 viewings in 30 days and had to give it for ?50 less pcm..IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING CAUSE SOME PPL AND SINGLE INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING. WHAT FOR? we gonna go surely under a few (3 to 5?) years adversity let s say but than I m positive things will get better for sure, Iam positive. BUT THAN WHY undergo these years of struggling of ppl moving business closing ppl losing their job kids etc etc? I thought UK was doing already better than everybody else in Europe and possibly more...is it?? so why?? FURTHERMORE we had already what we wanted from the EU through Cameron himself! PPL didn t want foreigners to come here and stay on the dole stealing tax payers money or situation like that! Thanx to Cameron we had it: IT WAS DECIDED for ppl to come in the country not to be able to take any help or benefit etc....the market will decide. Someone with a brain comes here, he finds job or sets up business and done! Someone else comes with no brain looking for troubles doesn t get job ...can t survive....moves on to another country in europe where they might get help as by european laws...it was so simple TRUTH is that it was all a set up for cameron to go down like already other time happened in this country and others. Than all disappeared, Boris got back in by the from door and WE no them gonna face the consequences of this. IT WASN t a vote about europe it was A POLITICAL VOTE and a VOTE AGAINST that s why ppl fight! Cause it s unbelievable to get out of one of the biggest market of the world. there are others and more but why to get of there if WE HAD ALREADY OBTAINED SPECIAL LAWS TO CORRECT THE "PROBLEM" OF IMMIGRATION IN THIS COUNTRY ALSO pls don t forget that UK lost the same amount of money that would have paid the cost of years in europe in one night only straight after the vote! DON T ALSO forget that areas not as lucky as london, for instance wales and scotland and ireland are still now getting loooots of help IN MONEY from the EU and they (that s why also they want to stay in europe ) really counted on that money to try and improve and live better; same as the families and businesses that are already packing up and going.....ppl have worked very very hard also in here. nobody deserves that as there is no certainty of the future and anyway I DON T REALLY THINK that such a matter should have ever gone to a referendum. not even the best scientist can still determine if brexit is good or bad for UK how can You ask the bus driver the teacher the builder the regular ppl that we all are! Referendum should be for things like divorce or rights etc if you see what i mean.. I think a small business with 4/5 employees shutting down means something like 20 ppl with no or less work including families and business around it. i don t think is any good and even more i think it s a shame. I thought the strength of this country is also the foreigners here. PPL from UK have migrated pretty much all over the world.. I m not an UK CITIZEN but feel very much a londoner after nearly 20 yrs, after going to war looking for weapon of mass destruction. Wish everybody best and fingers crossed..
  2. Nope..there are also ppl working on friday eve.. I was sending couple of boring emails and received reply Via email...sometimes high tech helps
  3. No I was just sending couple of boring emails and had reply via email..High tech..:)
  4. I appreciate you "seeing the positive" there..."you could do lot worse"...
  5. As I am planning to live abroad I need to understand my position with taxes in Spain mainly and /or Italy Have income from here and pay my taxes in here but..it seems I have to pay also where I am for more than 183gg per year Anyone can suggest a "local" or central accountant to help me out?? I am also looking for new accountant for my things here so someone that can do both will be perfect Thanx
  6. Regarding Alan Medic :) My situation is pretty flexible i could stay here and keep working if i had a reason... I have been working very very very very hard for the past 30 yrs as I pay my bills all included since i was 16yo..hardly ever cash in end and always paid my taxes as i believe in a system whatever it is.. But staying in here paying nearly a fiver for a pint and the bartender hardly smiles to me....than i d rather pay 1 euro per beer in spain.. Of course if i had family kids wife etc it will be a different matter eventually but atm I don t see any reason to pay a fiver per beer especially with brexit as I buy in euros and sell in pounds... I still think my best shot is to relocate and not my fault for the 4 people staff (all of them with family) that work with me..I didn t decide brexit and i wasn t even entitled to vote after nearly 20 yrs in here..
  7. If I knew all of this before I would have indulged life on benefits for a few decades...I guess that s what younger generation are thinking.. As an engineer in italy or spain after your degrees and master degree etc You might get lucky (and trust me You need luck) and get a job for 1500 euros per month and be able to pay your 45/50% taxes that will leave you with 7/800 euros income when a 1 bed flat in any (not major though) city will cost you 500 cpm plus bills....so that will leave our engineer with less than 200 for himself to spend... OF course they ll think let s move to UK and live on the dole is it?? You might have 200 euros after taxes and rent left for you...while on the dole after housing benefit you get pretty much the same on unemployment benefit but still you don t need to work 45 hrs per week on the chain... If I was in my 20 I will get this message... I think more than on Brexit, england should have made a point on this in Europe.. Anyway I m not here to save the planet, europe or Uk nor not to pay my taxes. I ll pay taxes once only and not twice even if i have to go living thailand or nepal or africa... I m really happy to pay my taxes and proud of it...but not stupid or slave to someone
  8. Also I m not gonna live timing my stay somewhere...not gonna live out of a rucksack for the rest of my days..
  9. As far as it might sounds stupid I still do not understand why shall i pay tax twice.... I m not gonna use their HS ..will pay for my tickets on the transports...will pay my dentist privately etc.. I can easily understand local taxes (the equivalent here of council tax) as I ll be consuming their roads and using their lights..but why on my income which is generated in UK where I already do pay taxes...? I will use NHS where i pay taxes and so on... Anyway don t want to get into the rights or wrongs just need to understand the way it works and surely I need to see some professional... maybe an international accountant?...but for instance: Lets say someone generates an income in uk of ?2000 after some 30 yrs work breaking his/her back..! Those 2000 minus 20% tax in Uk ..minus 25% difference in Spain...minus some little% for an accountant or whatever i might need (without counting I am sure there will be a fee to transfer money from uk to spain) .......that will leave this person with ?1000 to live on so...no choice really than staying here and keep working is it..? So ...i am wondering if i m free or I have perhaps done something wrong in my life I am not aware of and need to stay somewhere i don t wanna stay (reminds me jail or hospital) and need to keep working although for my needs I could easily retire...(reminds me of slavery)! Answer will probably be i am fee to do what i want as far as I pay...(that reminds me of MAfia ) I thought it will be just plain simple to pay taxes where your income is generated... My income is in UK , i use nhs etc etc in uk so I pay here! As i am sure also i won t be really capable of living without working in my age whenever I find a job in spain I pay taxes for that income.. is that too easy??
  10. Yeah obviously he made an impact.. Anyway i ll be happy to take Charliebubs and grok for a drink sometime so that Grok can enlighten me with his successful life as a single in london and charliebubs can distract me from the rubbish grok is talking about... it might well work..
  11. I also Thought about Croatia but than the language etc... So in this sense a double taxation agreement doesn t say that if I pay taxes in UK i don t need to pay somewhere else...it says that if i stay more than 183 days In spain (for instance) i need to pay my 20% (roughly) tax in here UK and than later the difference in between that 20% and whatever it s the fiscal pressure in Spain. So if it is 45% (roughly) in spain I need to pay 20% in here and 25% over there So that I don t pay double taxes but I pay taxes twice..is that correct??? Don t find it fair though..
  12. Hi there I was reading an ad on here couple of weeks ago regarding getting retired earlyish. It was interesting to read different point of views.. From my side I have decided to get retired in my 45 this year, move abroad somewhere sunnier in Europe with Spain and Italy top of the list atm. Money has never been that important to me and i think i might have just enough for my needs to retire somewhere warmer and i am not talking only temperatures here.. I have some assets in London and a long time assistant that can run things. I thought I will have enough to make a living in Spain or Italy so I started my process few weeks ago...straight after Brexit precisely.. So now, and i go to the point I understand from my researches that I don t need to pay double taxes but i need anyway to pay twice the taxes. I am happy to pay taxes in here but do I need to pay over there also...REALLY? I understand that if for instance I pay 20% taxes in UK and i stay in spain or italy (where tax pressure is roughly 45%) for more than 6 months I ll have to pay the remaining 25% tax locally...:( In my case we are not talking huge money so it might make a difference. Anyone has experience with it as done it before? Anyone knows an international tax accountant well enough to recommend him? Anyone has an idea if i really need an international accountant or perhaps a different professional...financial advisor maybe?? Anyone can bring some order in my head:) ? I am happy to give some detail privately if it helps to understand if and how much i ll need to pay Thanx for replying
  13. You must confuse me with someone else charliebubs.. I have never been to a single event in ED or ...anywhere else really I met only one woman since i live In ED and it was through this website , we had drink at the actress ...we probably talking 2/3 years ago..and that was it. Once again i have never been to a single event and never met anyone a part from that girl (YOU?) for a drink.. ...I m therefore confused ... I think You got me confused with another man....
  14. so for instance..how much would you need to get retired? let s take a single person as easier.. would you retire (and maybe move out of london) if you had an income of ?1200..? how much would you need to retire?
  15. Thanx for replying as usual few of you did cross the line (grok you sound pretty much like an idiot; hope you are some teenager and generally i believe there is always hope..good luck) and mostly I don t think, but might be proven wrong, You understand difference between some "light" talking and reality..! I understand though I could come across obsessed and desperate on a chat, without getting the tone of it etc but I can guarantee it s not that way and I believe You won t even need to meet me to understand it: I believe just looking in each other eyes for a sec will do I did live most of my time in London in Angel, moved here in ED roughly 2 years ago and like it very much My friends mostly live that side of the city so i travel regularly to them. I genuinely believe (but it s just my theory and keep in mind we are in "the lounge" section) women in ED are in some ways different than women i still meet in Angel/islington area where I use to live. My theory says many stupid/funny things about women in ED that will take ages to explain here but, once, in a pub with some friends near arsenal after a few drinks (very few as i m not much of a drinker) my theory came across just PERFECT!!! It was a fun night that will stay with us for a while and still these days they ask me to talk about it again and do the show for them again. furthermore i can get very passionate already after the first drink :) and I could also be fun on a good day.. Anyway if i have to say in one sentence my theory says that women in ED aren t flirty at all ..and probably i should have started a thread with this title: "Women in ED aren t flirty at all" I know..it would have been more fun. next time perhaps It takes very often two or more to have fun.. PROMISE IF ANY my next thread will be that one!!!! Also I think KidKruger is spot on; there is a sense of frustration there but mainly cause although everybody says I can be very flirty I seriously have hardly talked to a woman in my 2 years in ED ...but like everybody else I have a life outside ED and it is an happy one...it s just, from that point of view doesn t work for me here in Ed and i find it both very funny and frustrating Said that after my usual 14 hr shift on saturday hope you are all out having fun and flirting :).. ..including Grok, Natty and Elphinstone 's Army (EA no nice to take the piss when the other is weaker than You if you see what i mean..it s pretty much as classy as Grok writing) HAve a nIceeee Sat Eveeee!!:) and watch out for my next thread: "women in Ed aren t flirty at all" live soon!! PS no offence intended for women in ED just having a laugh ..peace and love
  16. Hey Artful i think I need to go out with You! :) I guess you are not single though with those skills..
  17. I promise I saw lots of big tables women only or table for 3/4 girls only.. but what do i do?? can go there and say i wanna have a chat with all girls at the table...can i ?/? Think if i did it they ll think I am mad or something but than i am sure if i was on the internet they will swap pics info etc without even knowing me.. it s a strange world..
  18. now i know what not to talk about more than where not to go :)
  19. :) :) where were you?..so i know where i don t need to go from the tone of your question:) I went at the actress..french wine place on Lordship lane and bellenden rd
  20. I always work long hrs over the week end and have never had a chance for 10 yrs to go out on friday or sat eve .. For some reason I finally had a Saturday off and decided to go out in ED.. I COULD NOT BELIEVE how many girls were out and about in ED and mostly looking very pretty!! I have been single for a while ..although everybody who knows me seems very surprised as i am about it..and gave up hope being 40+.. Last friday night gave me hope as i saw loooots of very cute ladies looking single so..i am not alone than:) Are we all on the same boat?? it seems very difficult to get in touch with girls here in ED..But than if You are single as i am...how do we get in touch???
  21. ..Of Course You can Grok! You are one of nearly 500 ppl, You not alone..:) :) None of those ppl was at a bday party last sunday on forest hill rd though :(
