  1. Hamlets is pretty good. It's not particularly fancy and has no airs and graces, but if all you want is a good workout then it's fine. I've never seen it busy to the point that you're queueing for equipment and people are really friendly in general. It's also really cheap!
  2. As a forum of cat lovers I thought I'd seek your advice. We currently have a two year old male cat who seems to live quite a contented life, but is extreeeeeemly cautious of new people, to the extent that he will spend the entire weekend under the bed if we have guests. We originally adopted him as a kitten along with his sister, although she sadly died a year ago. When she was around he was far less cautious and would come out and be quite a sociable young man. Anyway, to my point. We'd really like to get another kitten, although are worried about how our current cat will react. I've heard a range of things from 'he won't take any notice' to 'don't do it, he'll leave home'. Do any forumites have any experiences or advice they could share? We'd be very sad indeed if he left home.
  3. As someone who is only now beginning to appreciate the lunacy that is a 10k run, I'm depending more and more on my trusty iPod to get me round my training. Personally, Wipeout by The Safaris and Don't stop me now by Queen help me to stumble along - what do the other ED runners listen to?
  4. Yay! What fantastic news! A lovely start to my Wednesday......
  5. A friend of mine is convinced that he saw Erin O'Connor (model, currently for M&S I think.....) coming out of ED on Northcross road last week. Has anyone else spotted her around I wonder to confirm his sighting?
  6. Very good luck with finding Archie. We have some foxes at the bottom of our garden my cat (who is also a young neutered male) appears to be the best of friends with them. Keep us updated with any news.
  7. I'm an ED Gemini, my birthday's on 5th June, seemingly shared with noone of any interest whatsoever!
  8. So are we counting one lap of Dulwich Park as round the concrete track, or the running track round the outside? :-S
  9. Mikewbate, I know Wimpy in Milford too! Always a the best kind of treat after a sunday afternoon trip out to Milford Common. ( I grew up in the mighty Wolverhampton...) I wonder if the same ladies are there dishing up the burgers?
  10. DM, I have news. I wandered into ED Sainsburys this evening and on the way in is an advert on the wall, advertising for Starbucks staff. Now, there's no promise that the aforementioned Starbucks would be in Sainsburys, but surely they wouldn't advertise locally for a branch far away....?
  11. Zizzi is a chain of Italian restaurants - pasta, pizza, fish etc. I've never eaten in one so couldn't comment on the quality, but i don't think it's particularly authentic.
  12. I'm going to continue the defence of Barcelona. I've visited there many times, both with big groups and more intimate dinner a deux with Mr Katietatie and have always found it to be brilliant. The staff have an excellent knowledge of the dishes, and the food has always been wonderful when i've visited, even a few days before christmas when the place was heaving. Only complaint is that the tables aren't big enough for all of the plates!:))
  13. Sorry, I've been racking my brains but to no avail. In my defence it was a while ago....:-$
  14. I had the same people knock on the door and feed me some a line about having previously being in prison and this being a legitimate way of making a living. I was guilted (is that a word?) into buying some of the aforementioned jay cloths which had the name of the organisation in the packet. I googled the organisation name and nothing came up...... Does this mean that no such organisation exists or perhaps they're just not very technologically switched on?
  15. Maybe they're the ones stalking Keith?..... (See post called 'any legal minds out there....')
  16. Leaping back to the Italian thing, what do people make of Mozarella & Pomodoro in Camberwell? I've read some reasonable reviews but thought it distinctly mediocre when i visited. Did i just happen to dine with them on a bad day or is that a fair assessment?
  17. I've been with them for about three years, and they've generally been pretty good. Signal coverage is consistently sound, and their price packages are excellent. I've had a few dealings with customer services which have been reasonable but nothing to write home about. The main call centre is in India, although rumour has it that there is another one in Scotland that they use when things get particularly technical....
