  1. Has anyone else heard a man howling & ahouting on the Rye @ 5.30am each day?
  2. If crumble, add porridge oats to the topping... it's yummy!
  3. Sorry folks, I was looking forward to meeting you all, but haven't been well all week and given my "dying fly"act in the middle of the Rye three weeks ago, I think it's best to give it a miss. I hope you all have fun! No squabbling now!!!
  4. Oh Gawd!!! Right, let me convince "im indoors" & I'll see you all there.....!! PS - I'll be the one with the bloody great hole in me head!
  5. Thanks folks for all the messages of support, the last few weeks have been difficult & it has been a real boost to know that, even with this veil of annonimity, human warmth still shines through. I wonder if I pass any of you in the street.......?
  6. A year after being diaagnosed with a terminal illness I realised that I still hadn't made a valid will!! I know it sounds ridiculous but I've had a wonderful & busy year. My best friend & I realised that what we had was far more than friendship, so we became civil partners. The day itself was fantastic, both for us and everyone who came too. My partner was 40 a couple of months ago, so we threw a huge party with nearly 200 guests, who we realised we love to bits & to whom, we realised we mean so much. I have spent the year (well between 6 weeks of radio & 6 months of chemo) contacting people I had lost touch with. Just weeks after contacting a childhood friend, he was killed in a road traffic accident, I am so glad I had been in touch with him & realised how lucky I have been. Being told that my brain tumour was back led me to a solicitor on the same day. My will is made, I have decided what to do with my earthly goods & I have bought the plot next to my chilhood friend in the garden of remembrance where his ashes are buried. I don't feel closer to death for doing these things, that is out of my hands, but I feel more settled and content. Amazingly, I have always had a valid will in place/ except since my partner & I became civil partners. I don't know why I delayed..... I'll let the phsycologists amongst you decide.
  7. I thought this was a very strange thread.... why would anyone have a favourite offy? Then I read the posts, now I know what to look for & all the things I've missed so far! Thanks folks
  8. Don't you just love a well-placed apostrophe?
  9. Many thanks to the couple who found me having a fit on Peckham Rye on Saturday afternoon & called an ambulance. After three nights in Kings' I am now home & feeling much better. If you do read this, it would be lovely to hear from you.

  11. Barry Do you know why Southern & Southeastern trains no longer accept Freedom Passes before 9.30 am?
  12. Why would you want one? Didn't Senna die from a broken neck wearing exactly that?
