  1. We are two local residents of East Dulwich who have formulated a one hour presentation about drinking. Would anyone like to host our talk? The talk is called "Things got better for me when I started drinking" and is between Will Piper ( a drinker for 35 years) and Andrew Cunningham ( a therapist for 18 years). Here is a taste from our Youtube channel.
  2. Molly I appreciate your honesty but I think Southwark's efforts to reduce your ( and mine) reliance on the car for short journeys should be supported. It's a pain in the ass ( driving to my brother in Camberwell is out of the question now, so it's a 25 minute walk) but something's gotta give.
  3. They rang me today. See my post. Deffo a scam, makes me so angry. They threaten legal action on a recorded message.
  4. Oh well!
  5. I called it just to share some bile.
  6. These guys are ringing pretending to be from HMRC. If you have a moment, annoy them!
  7. "Personally I like to take restaurant reviews with a pinch of salt"
  8. Blanche, I noticed that you were not inside Nunhead Cemetery. Was there a reason for that?
  9. Blanche, I suggest you give up and ask penguin what changes he/she would suggest in the way Southwark are handling this thing and go with that. Everything else is just fluff. I like looking at the picture though.
  10. that's gotta hurt! 11. Blanche have you considered going into politics?
  12. Blanche,I think that quite a lot of local people want to use the cemetery to bury people.
  13. Blanche, burying people in a cemetery in not a big deal.
  14. Just spoke to the builder outside the old Mary Blythe who told me that after 44 years of black dusty nothingness we will have an indoor plant shop in da neighbourhood plus a hair 'stylist' in the old launderette and the cinema is taking the Irish shop. But you probably knew that.
  15. Blanche are you trying to say that those two photos represent a 'then' and 'now' of the same spot?
  16. I wonder if anyone here considers the Alleyns Hall, the hall that Alleyn's college rents out, to be expensive. They apparently keep all front of house takings as part of the deal. Are they fulfilling a charitable remit to provide the local community with accessible services?
  17. That's good to hear, thank you Kate.
  18. Marshalls Dad Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm afraid your source is not as solid as you > think andrewc. I was at the adventure playground > yesterday and spoke to Patrick regarding this > thread and he assures me it's untrue. That's good news. Thanks.
  19. Hi Sue My source is solid but is not going public on it. I don't mean to post this as a tease or conspiracy. Just genuinely want to know if anyone else is talking about it.
  20. I heard that the adventure playground is being threatened with closure. There are plans afoot for developing the space into flats. Anyone got any info on this?
  21. Blanche I do hope that when you say that the council are "looking into" the issue of discrimination, you are not referring to the same ( off the cuff) comment that was offered to you from the councillor you mentioned in a previous post. If it is then you are clutching at straws in the same way as you tried to use my post as evidence of something 'to be investigated'. Your new strap line "we feel it is wrong to cut down a living tree to bury a dead person" is a more honest argument.
  22. Blanche Your misunderstanding of my post is curious.
  23. I would be surprised if it 'was found out' that the council had a secret plan to discriminate or the opposite. What is much more likely is that a protest group will dig up the concept of discrimination to add more weight to their argument.
  24. Blanche Your latest post is a bit contradictory. You seem to value the fact that people can visit their loved ones on Mother's Day in a local graveyard but at the same time are very opposed to the council making extra provision for the very same thing.
