  1. Blanche I guess you know a muslim family who has been excluded from burial at these sites?
  2. Blanche It looks like the council are getting on with the job of turning an old cemetery into a new cemetery.
  3. HopOne The SSW campaign has been filled with exaggeration making it hard for tree-huggers like myself to get on board. I could list the foolings but they have already been discussed ad nausem on this thread. But some of the keywords are: Grave Juices, One Tree Hill tree line removal, Graves for sale,Picnic space,Acreage,Funeral for the trees, Ancient Woodland, Southwark Woods.
  4. Hi, I have a daughter who is very happy at Heber and have friends with happy children at Goodrich. Goodrich is a larger school with the pros and cons that that entails but I expect your child will be happy at either. You can only go by what you feel personally when you visit the school - perhaps your child will feel instantly at home at one of them. Please don't rely on what OFSTED say - they really can only provide a snapshot of what's going on which may fail to record good or bad aspects of the school(I speak as someone who works in Southwark schools and has been through 2 OFSTED inspections in the last two years!). How lucky you are to have the choice between two good schools!
  5. I think all your points are good. How about this as a talking point. Interesting that Thatcher used capitalism to convert socialists and Clinton used socialism to convert capitalists and both did it using the same method...enabling poor people to buy houses. I know that was a simplistic analysis but..its only chat.
  6. Mick.. I accept that Clinton may have got the ball rolling but an American left winger is still more right wing than most of our tories, so I still dont think you can call it socialism... more like wealth creation for as many as possible. They had a fit when they wanted to help the banks in the USA and called that socialism not the original policy of giving our dodgy mortgages. 7. Capitalists often say that everyone can be rich.. at least thats what they say. It was Bush who got behind the idea of houses for all in the name of capitalism and I would say not socialism. I think your post is controversial but not quite accurate...but I like a good chat me.
  8. I know a good time to miss the queue but Im not telling you!
  9. I notice the pirates think its 'political' to try and take them down which is a bit up their own arse methinks. I suggest people produce their own creations and share them on the web for free if they want. But dont make file sharing of someone elses files into a big heroic act...cause it isnt.

  11. I wonder if the good person is the lady I chat to on train who is on some rail users committee. She is an ED resident. But whoever it was...good work...thankyou
  12. If you are interested in placebo effects try Placebo by Dylan Evans In his book he tries to explain how and not just why people get cured from snake oil. The use of the mind to control the body can be useful. Before the invention of anaesthetic, hypnosis was used in the operating theatre. Hypnosis in this case was not an 'alternative', it was the only way of chopping a leg off without pain. If homeopathic remedies are the only way to treat a certain condition then it should not be deemed alternative. However it could be deemed deceptive as the understanding of the process is patchy. I suggest suggestion...it works well for Derren Brown.
  13. ooh its a bit chippy isnt it? I liked the dream machine but it asked too much of people in too short a time. I wish it all the best.
  14. Placebo versus homeopathy is quite easy to clinically trial. The results are in favor of placebo at the moment. Long live placebo. By the way hypnotherapy has been called the non deceptive placebo but I am biased. I've been on TV...so there
  15. Ah Ted I see you subscribe to that adult channel that screens Dancing on Ice -Uncut. Brings a new meaning to the expression 'here's one I made earlier'.
  16. Did you see the big crowd at the Dulwich Park cafe and the police arresting a youf. I think it was the result of Jags versus Alleyns snowball fight that got out of hand or maybe just too much fun. Any updates anyone?
  17. Hey....I was the hypnotherapist who helped Zoe Salmon (ex Blue Peter)get more lovely ice dancing points on Dancing on Ice last night. I know its a bit unEnglish to shout about it but hey what the hell...yey... I did that. And I'm local. More stuff about how great I am
  18. Did you know they had to pull the recent advert for mayo which had two men kissing...it was just a peck on the cheek..but apparently people found it 'offensive'. I thought it was on offence to take offence at being gay???
  19. Hi karter Nope he didnt say. They said it was all a last minute thing and I didnt want to get too nosy..not like me at all. Quinnie.. it is on Lordship Lane opposite the Pistachio club.
  20. Our saturday lunchtimes are gonna change now as today the Tulip cafe is closing. The chef has been frying eggs for 28 years with 12 of those at the Tulip. The family who run the place have always been so friendly and it is sad to see them go. So if you are a fan, nip down there today and say goodbye.
  21. If you have a kid between the age of 8 and 13 do please come to Dulwich Park at 11am any Sunday. We meet near the new tennis courts and play on or next to the football pitches. It is very informal..jumpers for goalposts and can be a good work out for adults as well. Lately it has been so quiet we have struggled to get five a side so please just come along or pop me a message for more info Andrew
  22. We are all scamable and have a weak spot somewhere. But hey...lets get this guy. Get a picture of him when you are pretending to take his number.
  23. On the subject of safe places to live. I was brought up in West Sussex where each village had a gang and would threaten to terrorize the next village's disco on a Friday night. I prefer the safety of East Dulwich.
  24. We sometimes go to Jack's and Springer's - both run by extremely friendly people and delicious food in both.
