  1. So my wife has just joined a college class, and the teacher is apparently pretty horrible, they won't even help students to format a USB stick to save their work on! I have ordered a stick from Amazon, and will pop into the Apple Store on Friday to see if they could help me out by formatting it - it'll still be sealed in it's original packaging, but was wondering if they refuse, could I possibly ask someone who might be hot desking in or around Goose Green to help out? We don't use macs at home, otherwise I could naturally do so myself of course.
  2. Just had a mockney discount-bin clone of Beckham dirtbag disturb my peace with the usual "doing some work in this area, couldn't help notice your roof needs some work done" So you can either choose a suitable insult from the Monkey Island canon to hurl at the retard or just slam the door in his fake tanned face.
  3. We moved to ED in 1980, my wife really loves the area, but we are looking to move out within the next year with the simplhy atrocious level of "care" at King's A&E being the main factor. Had two awful experiences there, and at our age this is a major concern. Both my parents sadly died there and I have no wish for any more of my family to suffer the same fate.
  4. A "puppie" by his retarded owners - it looked like an all black dog, very muscular, wearing a shoulder mounted grip, possible staff mix (am no expert on dogs) a fat, seemingly drunken pair of unpleasant Irish in their 60's repeatedly jumped up at a young lady in her mid 20's just over an hour ago in Goose Green up by the church, then went for my wife. The dog tried to bit her after jumping up at her chest, leaving her with a scratch, then ran at me, I managed to push it away then it came for us again as I confronted the two morons who had no control over this dangerous animal as it was obviously too strong for them, they appeared drunk, it was untrained and they simply didn't care. I reported it to the Police as soon as we got home, got a crime reference number. If you see this dog and it's scumbag owners, I'd urge you to vacate the park asap especially if you have children. It'd be for the best for the dog along with it's owners to be destroyed.
  5. Must admit that seeing it popular again for teenagers or slightly older riding around on stolen TFL bikes pretty much every day tees me off. Been seeing more adults around the area and it's surroundings on them too, bumps the prices up for using them, and no doubt helps normalise stealing of other people's bikes on the street too by the sight of the many bikes I've seen kids riding there's little to no chance of them having bought them.
  6. Had ours missed yesterday, second time in just over a month...I submitted a missed collection form and it was emptied today, not sure if it was just ours or the whole road. Last time it was def just ours. The guys dong the collections are a really nice bunch of people in my experience and it's not the end of the world, can't imagine how exhausted they all must be at the end of every shift, it's just a bit annoying the council isn't maybe investing enough into the service for it to be running properly.
  7. You don't need a macbook to edit video; even an old 2nd gen i5 with 16 gigs of RAM will easilly get the job done, either with Premiere, or Davinci Resolve/Blender for free. From the look of your gaming setup here, your laptop will easily manage editing if it can run an online racing sim... /forum/read.php?9,2219023,2219023#msg-2219023
  8. the new Goose Green shelter has been vandalised by a dirtbag moron before it even got fitted out : (
  9. You can choose to return at V7 local via Amazon's UPS return option - but you do need to show them a barcode either on your phone or printed out, you don't even need to prepare anything else, they take care of everything - drop off before 1pm to have it collected the same day.
  10. Just wanted to bring it to people's attention that there are a couple of builder scams operating around Goose Green, in unmarked white vans, claiming to be "with the building team doing work in Spurling Road". They are not just knocking on doors, but even approaching people on the street and doing the usual of asking for money before even looking at a house. If you know of any vulnerable people in the area, please do warn them about these dirtbags. Have made a police report, but sadly have no confidence of anything arising from it.
  11. "Our specialist engineers have now arrived in SE22 and are working hard to get your water supply back to normal as quickly as possible. As soon as we have an update, we?ll let you know."
  12. There's nothing on their website, but their automated phone service says they are currently repairing a burst water main and their eta is having it fixed within 3 hours, fingers crossed it's sooner.
  13. Yup there was a team working outside earlier, just noticed there's no water at all going to call and find out what's going on now!
  14. Spectrum (micro computer shop) gone The firetrap cinema gone Zodiac Toys gone
  15. There's a stand just opposite The Old Vic in Waterloo, not sure of the brand though. Don't forget your helmet (and I think you need to scan your licence in to an app and register for billing before being able to risk your life on one).
  16. Saw about 5 big ol' rats running in and out of the back of Domino's Pizza the other day, won't be ordering from them again!
  17. Update received just now at 00.19 Update at 00:17 - We believe our engineers have been able to restore power to all 1718 customers in the London SE22 area, by diverting power around the underground network fault. Due to the nature of this issue, if your power isn't back on we'll need to hear from you. To report this, or to talk to us about anything else, call us on 08003163105 which is free from landlines and mobiles. We understand how difficult a power cut can be, so we're sorry for any disruption or worry this caused you. Being without power during the current pandemic can be especially difficult, but please rest assured that as key workers, our staff will continue to work around the clock to keep the lights on. If you have any concerns or questions, give us a call any time.
  18. Power was out for about 30 minutes, Here are the updates from EDF in case you are unable to get through on the phone to them As of 23:34 here is a summary of the issue - We became aware of the fault at 23:00. The cause is a fault with an underground cable in the London SE22 area, our engineers were dispatched to site at 23:07. The current status of the issue is that we've assigned engineers to locate and fix the issue; they are now on their way, the estimated timeframe to have power back on is 01:30 to 02:30. We'll be in touch when we have more information. Update at 23:44 - We've remotely diverted electricity around the faulty part of the network, restoring power to 545 properties. This leaves 349 properties affected by the underground network fault. We'll keep sending text updates to everyone until all the power to your area is on. If you want to stop receiving texts, please just send CANCEL to 80876 (standard text fees apply).
  19. You could also slip in a white dog turd if you find one of the legendary beasts that can still be spotted around ED now and again :)
  20. I sincerely hope you catch it & are removed from the gene-pool with asinine opinions like that, "jim"
  21. Happened to us just now, no sign or sound of kids on the street, had our downstairs front window open. Saw the wiry framed excrement eating mother fornicator knock on the door as I was walking up the passage. As soon as they saw someone was coming to the door they ran off, couldn't see a sign of them when I looked outside so they must've run off into a neighbors garden. This was on Crawthew Grove, which had a couple of burglaries some time back. Our road isn't known for kids messing around on as it's pretty much all babies and toddlers.
  22. Depending on the member of staff on duty, the trolleys next to the entrance are sometimes wiped with antiseptic spray before being put back into use.
  23. Hi, please don't take my message above as criticism, it's not. I have helped mentor people who have been in extreme financial difficulty and a couple of them mentioned to me last year that when they were initially referred to Pecan when they couldn't afford to eat and been refused an advance by the Job Center or been sanctioned either by them for something as petty as being late for a meeting at a third party provider that after a certain number of visits to Pecan they were required to have a token which they were only entitled to and had to be agreed on by their job coach, which IIRC were limited to a certain number of. I think it's great that Pecan now offer home deliveries, but would hope that, especially during this pandemic that they would make their aid accessible to those in this area seeing as they are receiving donations from it. The total lack of action by our councillor in Goose Green ward is very disappointing and something that I feel would have been addressed long ago if James Barber had been voted in again as he was always excellent in dealing with social issues. I think the scheme you mentioned looks fantastic - again - something for which the council could easily self fund. Given the average salary for people in SE22 and the number of house rebuilds done before residents move in & the amount of expensive cars and ?5 loaves of bread sold, I would hope that the many well off around here will see it in their hearts to contribute towards it. I imagine it will be of great help to many in the coming weeks and months. By your username, you probably already know that Raymond Chandler attended Dulwich College :) Thank you for stepping up and making a difference.
  24. Just thought it worth mentioning that people require a voucher (unless this has suddenly changed)to be able to receive food from Pecan, unlike the centre on Dog Kennel Hill & elsewhere in the area, making them a far from ideal place for many ED residents in need to access. It also requires travel outside of the area in a time when this needs to be avoided. Naturally, I applaud the work being done here, but imho it could and should be directed to more local efforts.
  25. If your hard drive has a bad sector where the docs folder is located, or if some files there are located on one+ then Win10 in particular has a habit of freezing & even crashing until you restart explorer.exe. Another likely explanation is the file allocation table has been corrupted - it's never a good idea to keep any user generated files on the c drive, kids! You can easily create a bootable Live Linux Mint, Ubuntu or PopOS usb stick {remembering to turn off secure boot in your bios] which will allow you to browse the hard disc & if the folder isn't buggered to then copy the files to another usb stick/drive, When this is done, run a test on the drive with crystal disk info, then mark to check if the drive is healthy or not & consider running your OS on SSD & your files on another drive & setup at least one regular cloud backup. Migrating to Linux full time or a dual boot solution [one OS per drive is best] will cause you less headaches too :)
