  4. Hi there, I am expecting our second one on 23rd January and with the amazing Lanes as I was with the first one. Our little boy was born at King?s by c-section after almost 24 hours of labour!!! Reg. NCT class, I would definitely recommend it ? especially those who do not necessarily have many friends in the area. We have been so lucky with our NCT groups and even had a long weekend away last year which was amazing! Hope the bumps are doing well and hopefully get to meet you girls later on.
  5. As crystal7 mentioned, Battersea park is amazing - 15 mins drive or you can get a train from Denmark Hill. They also have a zoo which is amazing for a little one. And they have a little train going around the park but not sure at what time though....
  6. Hi All, I know there have been a number of threads on this but I was wondering whether anyone could help me on this? We bought our house back in 2008 and we have been with Halifax for building and contents insurance. However, I received their renewal notice and it?s ?1,400 for a four bedroom Victorian mid terrace house! I have subsequently looked at price comparison website and it looks like we can get the premium substantially lower if I ticked ?no sign of subsidence? box. According to the building structural survey done back in 2008, ?There is some evidence of previous movement with cracking around some window openings along with minor sagging to the roof structure, slight twisting to the parapet walls, distortion to window openings and the front bay, uneven stone window cills, distortion to brick arches, gaps around window frames, as well as some cracking to the rear elevation around the rear door, some cracking internally to the rear elevation within the kitchen (and at some wall junctions) and slight sloping to most timber flooring. These cracks are old and worn and not reflected by any corresponding internal movement. The extent of the movement is within acceptable limits for a property of this type and age and there is no evidence of any recent or continuing movement. Some of the cracking appears to be typical of minor seasonal movement?. When I called a number of insurers and declare this, none of them would insure our house! So question is, do I tick the ? no sign of subsidence? box and get a cheaper insurance or do I have to stay with Halifax? Any advices would be really appreciated?. Thank you!

  8. We just bought a bed for our 21months old. - how time flies!!! He moves so much when he sleeps and we are thinking of buying something to stop him from falling out of the bed. I have been looking at options and can't decide whether to buy a guard (metal or rail with mesh) or bed bumper (made of foam that you put under the bed sheet) Any thoughts or views would be appreciated! Thank you! Anna

  20. Hi, We are going on holiday for 10 days and thinking about driving to the airport as it will be easier with our 14months boy. I just looked at the Heathrow airport website and their long stay parking is so expensive. I noticed some alternative parking companies around Heathrow and I was wondering whether anyone can recommend a good and safe one? I just do not want to park the car at a random scrap yard?. Thanks
  21. Thanks Guys. We will give few more weeks until he settles down and may look into going to see an osteopath. Anna
  22. Hi all, My 13 months old son has never been a good sleeper but we do not want to do any sleep training ? let alone the controlled crying. He has never been a good sleeper and the first time he slept through was when he was around 8 months old! It lasted about two months, and then teething, a cold came about and we went to Spain for a holiday in May which messed up his sleeping pattern completely. He is generally a happy boy but gets really tired during the day as he does not get enough sleep. Also he always has blocked nose and we have tried everything ? nose drops, vicks, vapour drops etc but never worked?. He was a breast fed baby until four days ago but he has finally taken bottles so we have been giving him a bottle feed at night for the last three days and he takes 6 oz of milk. Even so, he still wakes up at least once a night. When he wakes up , he is very distressed, arches his back and inconsolable until I breastfeed him. Once he settles down, he wakes up at 5 am and doesn?t want to go back to sleep afterwards. Apart from me and my husband getting really tired, we are concerned that he is not getting enough sleep so constantly tired. Someone suggested a Cranial Osteopath and we are seriously considering it. Has anyone tried it? What does it involve and can you recommend anyone please? Thank you. Anna
