Dear all, We have recently pulled out of purchasing a house as the structural survey came back with lots of issues including subsidence. It was a very hard decision as we had already spent quite a lot of money on survey and legal frees etc. We are now going to view another house on this Saturday and we know the house next door has a subsidence issue. Before instructing another survey, we would love somone to come and view the house with us just to give a quick overview. I know it is a very short notice but would you pleSe recommend someone who could so this or please pm me if you would Be able to help us on this. Thank you.

exactly same thing happened to us at the same night. I reported to the police and they came around. I have subsequently received an e-mail from them confirming the crime reference number etc. I will send him the link to this thread so that he is aware.

I second Francis stone - we have been using David Jones who also lives in ED. Very efficient and responsive - wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Hi all We are currently going though purchasing a house in WD. We just relived a environment search report and it reveals the house has a potential risk of surface water flooding within 25m I know the vendor has previously experienced a flooding in the basement due to heave rain / overflow of drainage. Is this something I should seriously be concerned about or is this quite common in the area? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you!

Lane lover, We have a very busy morning with school run with a baby and toddler. So it makes sense forus to leave the buggy in the car during the week so that we can leave on time. And besides, it was in the boot so no one could see it. I did not put this on the forum so I can be told what not to do. Thank you for your advice.

We are going through a legal process to buy a house and it needs a downstairs WC?s. we think we can only fit that into their current kitchen which means, although it may seem small we need a good builder who can build a downstairs WC?s and change the existing kitchen layout to accommodate it. John, Rob and Alex came to our house and helped us on small things around the house such as hanging a mirror, sorting out door locks etc. they also did a brilliant job in typing up our messy front garden and back garden. Hi we are currently living in ED and thinking of moving to WD as we need a bigger house! Seems the houses in WD are bigger than ED. Although I have been living in ED for awhile, must admit I have no idea where to look in WD. I would appreciate recommendation on which roads to look and avoid? Any school black holes to avoid? We also found a house we like which is in border of WD an West Norwood. What is West Norwood like? Any advice, recommendations would be gratefully received. Thank you!
