  1. The Brickhouse closed just before Covid December 2019. Nothing to do with Gails muscling in as they didn't move into till December 2022. Stop trying to fit a false narrative into a story
  2. Don't see an issue at all. Sounds like the protest is being made by friends and families of the two off licences, Morleys, pret and maxim chicken who are within 100 m of the school. Much ado about nothing. Besides if it doesn't proceed, the kids will walk a but further!!

  4. it's so good, the new refurbishment. I couldn't believe how new and fresh everything looked. The treadmills are amazing and it's just nice to get new stuff!!! Well done Southwark
  5. I thought Galahs were a native Australian bird
  6. 100% recommend Neighbourhood Vet. Love using them and their staff are always polite and helpful.
  7. I've never had an issue with them at all. I think they are fantastic. If you are concerned about costs, before anything is done ask them first for a quote.
  8. Given the amount of people complaining about the poor quality of fish and chips, despite the owner being lovely this is a must win. I've noticed that when ever any kind of cafe / food shop opens, people always whinge. Someone opened a cafe specialising in brunch and the first comment was - don't be a trendy poached eggs style cafe etc... Why not visit the stores and keep the economy going instead of whinging and moaning..
  9. Stupid fat fingers... Should say then

    Queues

Shorter not the other word :)

    Queues

If someone in a queue is oblivious to the line moving due to being on their phone, is it ok to take their place? Asking for a friend. Also if people used the width of the car space as two metres, the queue will be sgortee
  13. Great idea, however what are the insurance implications for doing such? Need to be mindful of the duty of care.
  14. William rose, mons and moxtons all have a great queuing process.
  15. Milk and more are great
  16. Fresh pasta is always available(including spaghetti amd tagliatelle) and the use by date is beginning of May. Also tastes a hell of amlot better than the dried stuff
  17. Well worth a read. For those aren't inclined to read, the essence ofthe research study is that panic buying isn't the result of a few selfish individuals but rather all of us buying slightly more than usual. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-stockpiling-crazy-selfish-behaviour-seems-chris-morley
  18. It appears the same people that are complaining about this were also complaining about the self scanners at Sainsburys. I'm amazed that the majority of the self scanner users are elderly and they appear to love it if the evidence is the lack of self scanners at the bays. Stop whinging about the cash and get a debit card, one can limit the spend and also monitor how much they are spending via their banking app. And it is secure. technology is your friend and it's why forums such as east dulwich form exist. And if you are a technophobe then why are you using the internet now on the forum. COntactless banking is just another form of using the internet, you've come this far you can go a little further. Apologies if I sound condescending...
  19. Totally agree. It was very nice in there and there was a sense of calm. Although I did engage with a chap in the coffee aisle and laughed that having limited roast and ground coffee was indeed a first world problem. He even said, he might have to get Taylors, I said the Lavazza was great but he reminded me that it wasn't fairtrade coffee - however in response I mentioned it did support our Italian friends. We had a chuckle and both agreed that one shouldn't caged eggs. Even though this story is boring, i even yawned as I wrote it. IF everyone acts civil and obeys we will be fine
  20. Also its impossible to bulk buy at Sainsburys as the checkouts are set up at the scanners to refuse multiple items of the same kind.
  21. It's a global issue and not a Sainsburys DKH issue. We are not unique so deal with it. The same way we have the sudden issue of Coronavirus putting pressure on the health system is doing the same.
  22. I think whilst it's honourable for the council to ask what they can do? I'd like to know what can they actually do? Supermarket logistics isn't a local issue, it's a global supply chain issue that whilst Southwark council would like to assist, there is little they can do. What is Southwark council empowered to do?
  23. One can always walk to the park and enjoy it's surrounds. There is no cover charge and never has been
  24. Separating recyclable goods on a conveyor belt on night shift on the central coast (1 hr nth of Sydney). Pay was ok, but at times it felt like the conveyor belt was still and i was moving. Went back into advertising afterwards...much better
