  1. Just quietly I think this is going to be awesome. Can't wait...https://www.pubintheparkuk.com/dulwich
  2. Quite excited about this. Should be a fun weekend...https://www.pubintheparkuk.com/dulwich
  3. I think this will be known as the election Labour lost. If they had elected a centre left, it would have galvanised the troops, protected the heartland. Instead they are leaving the heartland. Also interesting to note that whilst all the opposition parties have different policies they are united behind getting Boris out and what this is creating is that all people are hearing is Boris Boris Boris and if you are a swinging vote, one might think why are they so paranoid about Boris. No one is focusing on the problems and offering tangible solutions. The familiar drum beat of more nurses and teachers is a comfort zone. Think about the problem, why do we have less teachers and nurses...is it because those careers aren't appealing - is it a pay or workload reason? How does one seriously increase the number of nurses and teachers? Has anyone asked that question
  4. THis is a much accurate view of the Polls - it is a two party race...https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/homepage.html
  5. Hi I am just wondering what happened to dulwich hamlet fish bar as it has appeared to have closed down. Its a shame as the chap was so lovely. Food wasn't that great but you get what you paid for.
  6. I'm also not a fan of the internet and would prefer it that forums like this would be face to face with an agenda and minutes taken
  7. I can't believe that people are stating that costs for card machines are prohibitive for cafes. They range in cost from ?15 through to ?75 and are hooked up via your wifi / mobile phone etc. This isn't a heavy cost for cafes or shops that decide to use one.
  8. I think its fantastic - so much easier to use. Safer for all parties. I'm also a huge fan of the scan and go section of Sainsburys. I can go in, do my shop and it's so much more convenient for myself
  9. WHy doesn't Extinction rebellion do any protests in China and India - the two largest contributors of waste (no recyclable) and CO2 emissions...
  10. And this pretty much sums it up and you can take polls with a grain of salt. Despite all the protests...people are warming to Boris and cooling even more to Corbyn https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2019/09/02/after-one-month-prime-minister-public-attitudes-to

But if people don't know the system, you can't have them incorrectly announce that the leader is unelected when they are elected. SAme with Remain / Leave, people should always investigate the options at hand and make an informed decision. Re: Corbyn. He calls the conservatives party as a party in shambles yet Labor is still only garnering 20% share of the vote according to the polls. IN all seriousness the Labor party should be at 45-50%...this falls on Corbyn. He needs to go. In order to have a decent government we need a decent opposition and Corbyn isn't. LAbor is not for the people but for the ideologies...it's a shame....and yes I am not a Labor voter...more centre right...don't hate me :)
  12. Note that the PM is actually elected. We vote for a party not a leader, its the party's perogative to decide who should lead. Simple
  13. why is any attack branded a right wing vs left wing attack. it's just bloody ludicrous
  14. It's blackmail, plain and simple. I'm sure the police would help out and kill two birds with one stone

    Brexit View

In order for a good government to exist, one needs a strong opposition to act as a counter weight. It astounds me that Jeremy Corbyn states that the Conservatives are in trouble, yet the Labor party are now on par with the lib dems. Remove Corbyn, get someone in that appeals to Labor's true heartland and not the champagne socialists. Offer solutions that don't always start with 'tax the wealthy more'. This is nothing more than a tagline. One of the ironies of the Brexit parliamentary voting is that all nine options were defeated which shows that people either won't compromise OR there is too much confusion. Given that it was a non binding referendum, don't make it binding but acknowledge that the UK is divided on this issue and discuss ways of unifying this great country taking into account peoples beliefs
  16. I am making Londis East Dulwich my off licence of choice now...
  17. This referendum wasnt binding either. Regardless of who you voted for, it at least provides what people want. I for one am sick of people calling leavers uneducated and fools and the same way they call remainders leftwards etc. Finally, when you vote in a general election you are voting for a party and its that parties right to decide who the leader should be.
  18. Given they made their name for chips, why would you give them away.
  19. Plus how do you know what speed you do if you don't time yourself. Be polite and if you continually get overtaken move to a lane that is in line with your speed and please don't do breast stroke in the fast pool if you can't keep up with the freestyle swimmers
  20. The reason most people do laps is to improve their times. If you are a social swimmer stay in the slow swimmer. Swimmers who usually are in the fast lane check their times, count their stroke. The Times I've also given are rather slow too
  21. It's quite a simple solution, rather than just having fast / medium / slow signs, also include a 50m time guide to be used. Eg: Fast is sub 60 secs per 50, Medium is 60-75secs and slow is +75secs. From what i've seen at this pool is that not a lot of people can do sub 60secs per 50.
