  4. Hi radiantrooms, Thanks for your post. We're now looking to also find separate homes, although initially we only wanted them to go together, as you're absolutely right, they had such a bond. But the pups are growing up now, and they're beginning to have their own independence, so separate is absolutely fine. We've got some potential interest for the little girl (the brown pup) so now need to find a loving forever home for the little black boy too! Thanks, Anelia radiantrooms Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If only we could take on more dogs! > > Do they need to be homed together? 6. Hey there, I've previously put out an appeal to try and ind loving forever homes for 2 beautiful puppies that I found and rescued while on holiday in Greece this year. Since then, we managed to bring the pups to the UK, where they are currently in short term foster care, and they are looking for loving forever homes ASAP. * Please share * UPDATE--- This is Rene and Pepe! These beautiful puppies reached the UK on (25/10) and are desperately looking for loving forever homes ASAP. They are currently on kind short term foster care together. Because they're going to be at least medium sized dogs, a house with adequate space and a garden is a must. The new owners will have to have enough time to exercise the dogs everyday too. This is their story: During my holiday in Greece this year, as I was walking through a country road in a village near Athens (6th Aug 2016) ,these two beautiful pups jumped out from the fields howling in desperation and craving love, help and attention. Abandoned in the middle of nowhere... (I had walked the same road another 5 times the previous couple of days), so these pups had clearly been abandoned that day and left to die from starvation, dehydration or be killed by speeding cars. I could never leave them there, and there was a country road with speeding cars that passed by the fields, so I took them home with me...one in each arm!!! We managed to find a kind lady who fostered them until now (obviously paying her and for everything the pups could need), but she just couldn't look after them anymore. We pushed it until October, but because no homes were found in Greece, we fought to get them here, with the help of a fantastic charity, who helped us with their transport. It's been an incredibly difficult road to get this far, we've entirely self funded, money that we just couldn't afford but what else could we do! These poor souls deserve a chance in life The brown and white pup is a girl and the black pup is a boy, and should become medium sized dogs. They are microchipped, fully vaccinated and have passports. 8. Thanks turtle!!hahaa why dont we just start talking about global problems then!!! And exactly- i dont think that's what Alice meant in any way!! 😁 turtle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well said Anelia, where did that come from? 9. As both my parents being Greek, I understand the hardships faced by the Greek people, as my family have been effected too....but then do you suggest we just stop caring about less big problems then? This is simply a post asking for help for 2 puppies- it is not bringing politics and nationwide problems into account, and it does not attempt to prioritize 2 puppies. it is simply a post asking for help! intexasatthe moment Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I don't know if anyone's heard but there's a bit > of a crisis in Greece . > > A ?12.82 bn cut in public funding -public sector > wages cut by 20%,wages of employees of state-owned > enterprises cut by 30%,health spending cut by > nearly 2 billion euros ,pensions cut by 20% ,huge > tax increases -property /income/VAT .Self employed > and farmers have to pay 100% income tax in advance > . > > Considering the effect on people loosing jobs > ,loosing income ,schools closing, trying to find > pharmacies that have drugs for heart conditions > ,insulin for diabetics ,ventolin for asthmatics > ..then yes ,I agree with Alice the priorities > displayed in this thread about 2 puppies seems > distatesful.
  10. Hi everyone! Sorry ive been absent these past few days...for some reason i stopped receiving emails that people had commented on this post!!! Thank you so much for all your kind words and positive comments :) :) binkylilyput and turtle and louisa- I really appreciate your kind words! take note, nigello and Jules-and-Boo: Again, thank you for your kind words, and I absoluetely do agree with you. I know..this may add to the numbers of UK unwanted doggies. Im just literally stuck and because the foster lady cant look after them till the end of october at a push, reallyyyyy worried about what's gonna happen next. And you're absolutely correct- education, and working with charities to raise awareness etc is the ultimate goal. however, from what i see every year when i go back, its like hitting a brick wall when the animal volunteers try this!! the boroughs, the government, the education system- there is just not enough interest and effort from them. i hope to one day try and help with a change...but for now im gonna try to save these 2 pups :) ill keep you all updated and once again thank you for all the nice things people have said

  19. Hi, During my holiday in Greece this year, as I was walking through a country road near Athens, these two beautiful pups jumped out from the fields howling in desperation and craving love, help and attention. Abandoned in the middle of nowhere. I had walked the same road another 5 times the previous couple of days, so these pups had clearly been abandoned that day and left to die from starvation, dehydration or be killed by speeding cars. I could never leave them there, and there is a country road with speeding cars that passes by the fields, and took them home with me, where they are kindly being fostered by a lady. However, she cannot look after them for much longer, and we are desperately looking for serious people who can offer loving homes for these two beautiful doggies here in the UK, as nothing has been found in Greece. It would be amazing if they could be adopted together, because they are inseparable, and never leave each other's side. But even if they have to go to separate homes we have to look at the big picture overall. The brown and white pup is a girl and the black pup is a boy, and should become medium sized dogs. They will need to be microchipped, vaccinated and have their passports made. I'm willing to contribute to the costs of those, but am also on a limited budget. I am making inquiries to find the most affordable option for these. Their transport from Athens, Greece--> UK needs to be covered by the new owners, but am in contact with a lady, Elaine Karmasyn, who helps many Greek strays and the cost of travel is very reasonable. It will be 80 Euros per dog from Athens-> Brussels and then Pet passport control in France is ?18 per dog. I would also please ask for a discretionary donation towards the lady's extra costs, such as petrol during car transport from Brussels to UK and her costs to get to the UK. She runs the foundation Greek Strays and does a lot of fantastic work. 20. Hi, We have a 5/6 month old male puppy, who is literally causing havoc in the house and in our lives! he's completely uncontrollable in the park, running off with whatever dog he sees, and whoever he sees. Every day since thurs, we have returned home to find CHAOS...carpets chewed, wallpaper chewed, cushions destroyed etc etc. The cat is living is constant fear, and we are struggling to walk him on a lead as he pulls. We are trying to apply whatever knowledge we have, as we already have another dog (15 years old) but back in his youth, we never experienced these kind of problems to this degree especially. We obviously need some help, and am wondering if people could recommend any fantastic dog trainers. We are on a budget, so they do need to be quite afforable though. Thanks very much, Anelia
  21. Hi lurchergirl, thank you, we will hopefully come down and have a look next week!
