  1. Why don't you go to Putney, Twickenham or wherever to watch the rugby on pub televisions. People in East Dulwich prefer football, as do most people.
  2. Councillor Barber - please take some action re Saltash! Investigate this contractor's relationship with Southwark Council. You are unusually unresponsive / inactive. I wonder why?
  3. We don't need Lidl - shop at the Co-op in Lordship Lane!
  4. Councillor Barber - your responses are unusually weak on the subject of Saltash and associated issues!
  5. The laptop squatters appear to have moved from Caffe Nero, following recent criticism on the East Dulwich Forum, and have now started to invade the nearby and excellent Brick House Bakery. These squatters are a pest and becoming as invasive as Japanese knotweed. We do not want them - especially a particularly annoying example of the species today who occupied a table for 4 people - with his single cup of coffee - and was wearing headphones so that he could engage loudly in boring telephone conversations about his stupid little 'business' problems - oblivious to how irritating his behaviour was to other customers. The Brick House is a great place where friends can chat, eat and drink - or individual can enjoy a break, browsing newspapers and magazines. It is not for selfish laptop squatter nerds, so please GO AWAY! You are not wanted.
  6. Appallingly shoddy work by Saltash. Workers who turn up for only a few hours a day. Scaffolding that is left for literally months after work has finished. Southwark Council - you are a disgrace and unfit to be a landlord of social housing. You are responsible for letting this contract, which you clearly do not supervise and are wasting OUR money.
  7. Pete Bennison is excellent! http://www.pmbennison.co.uk/
  8. I agree that "back to wood" are brilliant. Steve and Nicola. Steve's email: [email protected] You won't find anyone better.
  9. After a long wait for a decent Italian restaurant in ED, Olivelli is so disappointing. Food is ok but expensive. The service is like a sketch from Fawlty Towers: enthusiastic staff but many have a poor grasp of English and get orders wrong, and they are not trained - not the fault of the staff - lazy, poor management are to blame. They need to get their act together quickly or they won't survive!
  10. Excellent and innovative food, interesting cocktails and great service. Agree, however, the name is dreadful.
  11. I also recommend Ray Coman - excellent service.
  12. The Picturehouse is a brilliant addition to East Dulwich. Will the moaners stop moaning please, you're pathetic!
  13. Nightmare kids - I blame the (nightmare) parents! Lovely kids - credit to the (lovely) parents!!!
  14. Is anyone else suffering from the problem of little or no Vodafone mobile reception in East Dulwich this week?
  15. East Dulwich Picturehouse is brilliant and good value - a great addition to the neighbourhood!
  16. The problem is spreading across London as laptop squatters colonise the British Library. Similar to the curse of urban foxes colonising the streets and gardens of East Dulwich?
  17. Do other people share my frustration with 'laptop squatters' who colonise coffee shops, especially Cafe Nero in Lordship Lane. They buy a single cup of coffee and then spread themselves out, over 2 or 3 chairs, for several hours while using their laptops. They are selfish - taking space that could be used by many others who actually want to buy drinks and food - and then find somewhere to sit down to consume them, without having all day to do so! These squatters cannot be great for business - spending practically nothing themselves - and would-be customers turn away when they see that there is no space! In Cafe Nero there will often be around 10-12 laptop squatters in occupation at any time. Please can they go somewhere else to freeload or perhaps should be charged a commercial rental for their use of space?
  18. Hi James - should Yama Momo, the new Japanese restaurant in Lordship Lane be required to pay for its waste to be collected? The bags of rubbish left on the pavement are disgusting - and presumably a health hazard? Thanks.
