  1. So then the answer is no country has ever had a successful fiat economy and we will at some point go back to gold, now Gordon has sold it all at historical lows.
  2. Has an economy ever been successful based in fiat money or do they all revert to "a gold standard"

  4. The problem in the English courts is not having a prescriptive regime of punishment that is fixed and not flexible dependant on circumstances. Mr Robber breaks into a house and steals all the valuables that some poor sod has worked hard for simply because he is a lazy good for nothing. He gets caught and is found guilty. The judge simply opens his little book of punishments and finds page 10: Breaking and entering, theft. 1 year in prison. No get out in six months , no my daddy beat me so can i get out in three months no , I didn't have any money because society let me down educationally and I resent people who have money. Non of these mitigating circumstances or as they are in fact, excuses. Mr Murderer breaks in and kills a person to steal their goods, gets caught found guilty. The judge simply opens his little book of punishments and finds page 129: Breaking and entering, theft, murder 100 years in prison. In fact we could all have a vote every 20 years on punishments for crimes, now that would be interesting to see what people really thought. I believe that if a person has been given half a dozen or a dozen ( the number is pretty much irrelevant) chances to behave within the accepted laws of this society and is unwilling or unable to do so they should be locked away until they die. Why should I as a law abiding person have to accept that these people can do as they please with no final consequence, and if that is going to be the case maybe i should start breaking the law when it suits me as well because there would seem to be no reason for me to obey it. Justice must be seen to be done for society to work and at the moment we have a system so tied up in red tape by clever lawyers/protest groups that we have little or no faith in it. I believe in the death penalty not as a deterant but as punishment for certain crimes so abhorrent that nothing else will suffice. I look at my beautiful little boy and know that despite my catholic upbringing, despite my despising people who commit murder, despite all this if some person did that to my son they would have to die and very very painfully. So revenge is in my opinion a valid response either by the state in a form of punishment or by an individual let down by the state.

  10. I was put in an orphanage at birth until aged three and then adopted and I would like to know my family history but don't want to upset my mother,so my advice is find her on the understanding she may well tell you to get lost.
  11. Belle, We know this because she had been off formula for a few weeks and on normal milk and we were driving to Provence for a holiday but worried about getting any milk for her when we arrived so we took a couple of pre-made cartons of SMA for her in case. When we arrived it was a holiday so we gave her the SMA for a day and the next day she had a major flair up. We also took our own bed linen for her and a pack of filletti to wash her stuff in so the only different thing was the milk. Once we stopped giving to her it cleared up, this was also where we discovered L'Occitan cream for her skin. On our return we mentioned it to someone and she said she had heard that it can trigger it.
  12. Fairy tale of New York If you look at the two artists and the lyrics it shouldn't work, but it does and its beautiful. Last Cristmas - Wham sorry but I like it ! White Christmas - Otis Redding Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Frank Sinatra I'll Be Home For Christmas - Diana Krall And anything by Nat King Cole
  13. My daughter had/has it and we controlled it with: Washing powder called Filleti in a pink box, does not wash very well but she has no eczema now. Especially wash bed linen and pyjamas tights socks jeans etc. After bathing covered her in Aqueiouse cream SMA formula milk was a trigger We have L'Occitan Shea butter hand cream/ moisturiser for any flair ups it works a treat, like last week she bought a new pair of jeans and wore them before we could wash them so got it on her legs from the dressing shops put on cloths. Out of all of them the washing powder is the most important onefollowed by no soaps in the bath just Aqueiouse cream. It is a matter of elimination, finding out what is your child's trigger and removing it from their lives. Vince
  14. Got an email from Amazon saying they are refunding me ?11 due to pre order price promise I guess because Sainsburys selling it so cheap. Amazon are great at what they do, as it did peeve me a bit when I paid ?38 and could have got it for ?26. That said my local Sainsburys in Chislehurst had sold out and still don't have any.
  15. emc So how many replies did you get to posting your pic,. and yes you certainly are the yummiest of the yummy's you must have got loads!!!!
  16. A black person spiting out hatred about white people is as unpalatable as white people spiting out hatred about black people. What gives you the right to use that word if silverfox cant.
  17. Perhaps we could start a thread: Is the word c*nt necessarily rude? Stupid thread that is quite obviously offensive and how its been allowed is questionable.
  18. I find it horrifying what they are going to do to him, until I think of the little boy he kidnapped took to the desert sodomized and then left him there to roast to death in the sun. Some people deserve to die in the most horrific and painful ways simply because of what they have done, that little boy wasn't one of them.
  19. I actually feel genuinely sorry for him, what he has tried to do without making a public fuss about it is a thoughtful and decent thing and it seems the media and most of the country are taking the piss out of him when he simply did not have to do it. The man is verging on blind for Gods sake and he knows the utter pain and devastation that comes from losing a child, so writing a letter to another parent for the loss of their child through his decisions must be very hard. He has certainly gone up in my estimations and as for the mother recording the conversation and giving it to the Sun, i find that a bit low really.
  20. ?26, I paid ?38 for my one from Amazon but they did deliver it at 10 o'clock this morning, very impressed.

    X Factor

I have a Humax PVR and can tell you they are great, we pause the program and start watching twenty minutes later and just skip all the ads. If I could get sky I would but too many trees near my house but I guess i save ?50 a month and my son actually does homework rather than just watching football all day and night. Cant believe Cowell could be so obvious in getting rid of any talent that may compete with his lot. Vince
  22. When I was a school a class mate had feet like that and was called spaz all the way through school and teased terribly, I know it is hard for you now but you must keep on with it for your baby's sake. Vince
  23. The Boyzone singer Stephen Gately died of natural causes, a post-mortem examination in Spain has established. An official said he suffered pulmonary oedema, which is an accumulation of fluid on the lungs. The 33-year-old star was found dead at his holiday home in Majorca on Saturday. The judge said his body can now be flown home. Seems my forensic pathologist career has come to a sudden end. As for beds ?1million does not buy much in Port Andraxt
  24. Does MrJ go to the bedroom with these friends and you sleep on the couch? I am not prejudiced at all just saying with the facts as they are it is easy to jump to certain conclusions.
