We too would thoroughly recommend Aston. He did an excellent and very careful couple of jobs for us, was a very friendly person to have around the house, good value, and tidied up thoroughly before he left (also voluntarily took his shoes off upstairs). We'd definitely use him again, and would wholeheartedly recommend him.

I recently stopped work because my partner and I are about to foster (to adopt) a baby, but proceedings have been delayed. Suddenly September and much of October look blank. So I?m looking for interesting and creative bits of paid work to occupy me locally for the next six weeks or so. My background includes journalism, foreign affairs, NGO strategy development and even Chinese and Italian theatre translation work (though I'm not expecting to find much more of that). Hi. We've used Steve and Nicola a couple of times before and they've been brilliant. Last week, we contacted them about a large old Georgian floor board in another part of the house that had split. Steve popped round today, whipped up the floor board, glued and braced it, then replaced it and checked and re-secured some of the creaking floorboards around it - and then refused to take any money from us. Once again, we think they're great.

Steve and Nicola from Back to Wood recently restored and stripped our wooden floor. They were brilliant - a delight to have around, did a fantastic and very careful job - ensuring the floor came out at exactly the right shade and level of 'old' that we wanted. The price was very reasonable, and they sorted out a couple of additonal flooring issues for us for free. They left the house very tidy. We'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Thomas Lawless, painter and decorator (07802 485538), highly recommended. Thomas decorated several rooms in our house in Peckham Rye while we were away. He did a meticulous job and was a pleasure to deal with. Very good value too.
