  1. Hello, FTM with baby due in early June. Just wondering if there?s anyone else expecting or any local whatsapp groups to join? We?re having baby at Kings. X
  2. We?ve used Shuttersup twice now and were so pleased with them we recommended them to our neighbour (she?d also thrilled). Friendly, polite team, ladies in the office are lovely and so helpful, prices are competitive and they were punctual etc. Would definitely recommend and use again.
  3. Hello, We currently have a small conservatory at the back of our ground floor garden flat in Dulwich. It was there when we bought the flat but it?s looking a little tired now and we?d really like to replace it. Theres a bit too much pvc in there for my liking so would like something a little more stylish. It didnt need PP but if possible, we?d like to make the new one a little bigger (bi folds). Looking for recommendations of good companies you may have used. Thanks in advance!
  4. They aren't selling them at the bar anymore
  5. Husband has just seen tickets for the boxing day game on see tickets at ?13 each but you have to take the printout copy to get in.. are they usually that much and for sale on see tickets?!
  6. Hi, has anyone got a recommendation for a good company to hire a hot tub from? Not a huge one, max 5/6 people as it'll have to squeeze down our garden path. Tried South East Hot Tubs who got great reviews but sadly nothing available. Thanks!
  7. Sounds a fantastic event! I hope the upcoming events on Brockwell Park are as well managed and peoples concerns are eased. A lot of hype from fellow HH residents, It's actually quite disheartening. Well run events (fingers crossed) in SE London are terrific news.
  8. Scotch meats is good and lots of choice but given it's not organic (?) I don't understand why everything is so much more expensive?
  9. I've been going to the Polished on Rosendale road for years and it's wonderful! Lovely little beauty parlour, definitely somewhere to go and get pampered (with a coffee or glass of Prosecco). Treatments are really good, it's not "cheap" but considering the demographic, value is spot on. Glad there's one opening in ED, will be visiting both.
  10. See the local football clubs piece in Time out yesterday? Good to see DHFC in there, anything that can raise awareness!
  11. We have used "Shuttersup" twice now for our beautiful shutters. They are a lovely company and very competitive. Very pleased with our shutters and will go back if we want more. https://www.shuttersup.co.uk/ They are in Bromley so Local(ish)
  12. Hello, Does anyone have (recent) experience of using Neighbourhood Midwives? We will be TTC soon and thought this may be a good option someway between Totally Private care and purely NHS. I'm in WD so Kings I believe is my closest option. I really like the idea of having the same Midwife throughout and also more flexibility in terms of scans/appointments etc. Which package did you go for if so? Any thoughts much appreciated! Thanks
  13. Went a few weeks ago and would echo Tarafitness, the staff were useless! Most young (college age)with zero common sense or experience. I appreciate everyone starts somewhere but how dozy this lot were was shocking. 20 minutes and 2 reminders to come and wipe a dirty table and when you do, bring a bone dry paper towel to do so? Should have done it myself. This wasn't a one off, lots of confused looks. Poor customer service, will go elsewhere with a bit of enthusiasm
  14. Apologies for the nosy question, but we are in the middle of obtaining quotes to have our garden landscaped /made into something other than the rather plain space it is now, and the quotes are just eye watering. I would say our garden is "medium sized" (it's a flat) so it's not enormous nor is it a small space/yard. We have a large side access and currently it's turfed with some gravel around the back door. We aren't looking for anything incredible, some paving and a few raised borders. I'd be interested to know roughly what others have paid to have their garden done. Maybe we are totally delusional! Please PM me obviously if you would rather!
  15. I am off on a Hen weekend on Friday and my Salon has just let me down (staff sickness). So cross there is no one else there to cover but anyways, can anyone recommend a good local Hairdresser (I am WD) that may be available for tomorrow at short notice? Half head highlights and wet trim. Thanks!
  16. The Dulwich bakery on the Corner of South Croxted Road (WD) sells it for about ?4 , made locally and it's Delicious!
  17. Hello, I posted a few weeks ago about looking for an outdoor/park boot camp and just wanted to give a HUGE thumbs up to the one I found and started yesterday! TUF London - they run a large and very well established group on Clapham Common and have not just started in Brixton/HH. Brockwell Park, meet at the Lido. They do 3 classes: *TUF RAW (All over body fitness conditioning class *TUF core & flex (focus on core stability, body mobilisation movements and stretching -great class for recovery) *TUF BDC (HIIT Bodyweight cardio class) Class timetable: Monday evening - 7pm Wednesday morning - 6am Wednesday evening - 7pm Thursday evening - 7pm Saturday morning - 9.30am Membership prices: TUF Brockwell unlimited ?35 per month TUF brockwell pay as you go ?10 I *think* they are still doing a weeks free trial too! As mentioned, I started last night and absolutely loved it! Brilliant and very knowledgeable/motivating trainer and it seems they have a really good social side too with drinks/dinners, so hoping to also make some new buddies. The price is fantastic too, ?35 is such good value from what I found when I looked about!! Really recommend them and happy to answer any questions. They are on Instagram and I have the Trainers email/number if needed :) Jess
  18. Can anyone recommend a good outdoor boot camp locally? Found a Womens only in Dulwich Park but it's 9.30am and with a busy full time job, that just doesn't work. Struggling to find anything that fits with standard working hours (must be a big retired/not working/yummy mummy need for those times as found lots during the day )
  19. We are WD not ED, But still have found that commuting has gotten gradually worse over the past 4 years we have been here. People seemed to have moved this way out in their droves (perhaps priced out of the claphams, balhams and such) which is of course fine, but the local transport and infrastructure has fallen way behind. Daily journeys are now painful, it's hit or miss whether you get on the train/bus/make it into work on time etc. Next year, trains will no longer run from WD to London bridge. I cannot understand why. Meaning the Victoria line train trains will become even more crowded. Moving further out I'm not sure is the answer. Maybe you get more for your money, but if the journey is horrendously unreliable and long, you won't ever be in your lovely property to enjoy it! The worsening commute is one of the reasons why we will look to leave in the next year I think.
  20. Will the names of any of the business involved feature anywhere on the banners? Can we have an example of some of the ideas received so far, what is going to be on them?
  21. They are bigger than people may expect and the fruitcake comparison seems fitting! Lovely dogs but hard work
  22. Morning, any recommendations for shutters? We want to get one fitted in our front bedroom which has a very large high window (almost floor to high ceiling) and about 4ft wide) Don't want extortionate prices, just needs to look decent and do the job. We are in West Dulwich so local would be ideal. I popped into a place in Crystal Palace a while ago and left my details, but they never got back to me, so won't bother with them again! Thanks
  23. Thanks for the replies. I may give Olleys a go (although seems pricey) or Codfellas. Failing that wait until I venture home over Easter! I just have such a craving!
