  1. Looking for a good chippy, takeaway or eat in, decent portions and tasty. I'm a northerner so Chippy standards quite high.. Gravy and curry sauce a bonus. Anything spring to mind ED, WD, Herne Hill etc etc? Thanks!
  2. Sorry, me again. Just bumping in case anyone now has any more I can take off their hands? Obviously happy to pop and collect. Thank you!
  3. Hello, Happy New Year! I have a favor to ask for my Friends Wedding. They are collecting empty Champagne bottles to use, I suspect, as table centerpieces or something. We need TWO of the following: *Laurent Perrier *Krug *Dom Perignon *Heidsick & co Monopole *Laurent Perrier Rose *Grand Siecle *Mumm *Bollinger *Moet I am trying to collect these over the next few weeks. Happy to collect when suitable. If you have any or will do impending, please do let me know, I'd be very grateful :) Jess
  4. We've taken to eating less meat but happily paying more for it to ensure better quality, rearing etc. Bit of a silly statement it may be (please have a lovely life before I eat you..) but hey ho. The above would really put me off WR, It seems very misleading..
  5. Agree with OP, transport a joke south of the river. Our daily commute has gotten so bad over the past 3 years, we are contemplating upping sticks. The trains are hugely overcrowded, if they turn up and aren't cancelled.. If they turn up, they are late. The buses too are now incredibly packed even early morning, we are lucky to get on. I'd love to cycle but personally I would not do so in London due to the pollution and I'd be worried about being knocked off etc, however safe a cyclist I was (that's my personal opinion, appreciate a lot of people do it and enjoy it!). We pay a lot for our monthly pass and it's just not worth it anymore. We are in WD and I believe trains will no longer go direct to Black friars from 2018. This is such a step back and a decision I really cannot understand, that train is packed!? Those people will now pour onto the Victoria trains which are already, as I mentioned, horrendous! Rubbish!
  6. Where is this, I haven't heard of it. Sounds good though
  7. We bought from "Christmas Tree world" or something like that, on the Cricket ground last year. Not cheap (where is!) but that was a good tree and lots of choice! Will try there again this year, unless anyone suggests otherwise in this thread that sounds good.
  8. Ahh thank you for clarifying Admin, I will try and post n the correct place next time! Thanks ed_pete, shall have a look
  9. Thanks DMW23, will have a look! Not sure why my post has been moved, I'm not looking for an ED business, restaurant or trade, whilst the posts asking for local pub and dentist recommendations stay in lounge...
  10. Hello, hoping to have a drive out this weekend to a large garden center, which has plenty of xmas decorations and displays on etc. We have some lovely little garden centers locally, but they are very small (walk around in 5 minutes). Looking for something a bit more "afternoon out" to go and load up on festive bits and bobs. Have a car so happy/expecting to drive out maybe an hour or so in the Kent or Surrey direction perhaps. Thank you!
  11. Thank you, I shall have a look!
  12. Hello, can anyone recommend a local damp expert to come and have a look at our flat for us? We are on South Croxted road and have an area of paint bubbling on one wall and suspect damp. Need someone to have a look and if confirmed, carry out the repair etc. Always like word of mouth Thank you
  13. Hello, have my Mum and Aunt this weekend and looking for a good brunch spot but partial to a bottomless brunch.. Is the Great Exhibition any good? If not there, any recommendations for elsewhere (central or SE) Thanks!
  14. I so want to go here! The groupon deal sold out sadly.
  15. Thank you! Sorry, I should have clarified in the West/East Dulwich area! I've been to the four hundred rabbits in Crystal Palace which I enjoyed! Also like Rocca in the Village. Will have a look at Artusi
  16. Since we will be stuffing ourselves with roasts and buffets the whole of Christmas week, I'm thinking of booking a nice Italian for Christmas eve lunch. Any good recommendations? What is Il Mirto like ? Thank you!
  17. Blue mountain is lovely! Was really not impressed with Toasted..
  18. Good to see as Wayne is coming to do our Windows this weekend!
  19. We're in a Ground floor flat and would like someone reliable who will come round and do a good job of giving our windows a wash. Just been quoted an astronomical price which I nearly spat my tea out at, clearly I'm in the wrong job if people are charging those numbers for a 15 minute job... Thank you
  20. My (sprightly Grandma) is down visiting us this weekend and I'm looking for nice restaurants, pub, breakfast recommendations for Saturday. We are WD'ers but love to venture East now and then, but I haven't been enough to know too many places. Basically after a good breakfast spot or perhaps cafe for tea and cake and a dinner recommendation (British) Any thoughts on where we could try much appreciated.
  21. I go with serve guests firsts but everyone waits until all served before eating. IMO starting before everyone else is bad manners (IMO!) but questioning the host is just as bad!

There's a > stables on the South Circular (near The > Harvester), no idea what it's like... Yes, Lady Norwood, I have posted on there and keep an eye on the forum, just my personal opinion, the ED forum is a lot more lively so thought I'd try here and so far so good! Thank you for your suggestion, I'll have a look. Thanks Artful Dogger!
  23. Evening! I'm actually in WD, but it's a little "snoozy" on the forum sometimes.. I'm looking to get back into riding and wondering if anyone can recommend a yard that is not a million miles away?! I'm resigned to the fact i'll most likely have to travel out south towards surrey or Kent. Ideally I'd like something to loan as opposed to lessons but being open minded. I work in Earls Court so catch the Orpington train from Victoria home. Really missing the lifestyle. Thanks in advance for any input x
  24. Hello, we are looking to get our back garden landscaped within the next few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations of good gardeners/landscaping companies they have used recently? It's a decent sized garden, we don't want anything too chelsea flower show, just new lawn, paving, borders, fencing etc that sort of thing. It needs a good bit of TLC and I always think word of mouth is best on these things! We are on South Croxted Road (WD, but that forum is rather quiet!) Thanks
