  1. Hello, I have posted in the Lost&Found section but thought maybe an eagle eyed parent might have spotted a brand new, girls size 6 Clarks fawn coloured winter boot (for a 2 year old girl). Bought today from Jon Barnet on Lordship Lane around midday. We walked down towards Blue Mountain Cafe, down North cross Rd, down Crystal Palace Rd then on to Peckham Rye. Please let me know if you have found it. Many thanks.
  2. Hello, we somehow lost a brand new infant girls fawn coloured boot, Clarks size 6 (for a 2 year old). Bought from Jon Barnet on Lordship Lane around midday today then we walked the back streets towards Blue Mountain Cafe then down Crystal Palace Rd and on to Peckham Rye, I think the boot has bounced out from underneath the pram. We retraced our entire journey but no luck. Please let me know if you find it. Many thanks.
  3. Hello, I know there are many previous threads about nurseries but I was hoping to find some recent views from parents whose children are currently at Bright Horizons. I am thinking of moving my child there but I am really in two minds and would like some candid and current feedback. Please feel free to PM me if you prefer. Many thanks in advance.
  4. Hi Alex, Our car was also broken in to the same week as you, we live just a bit further up Abbotswood Road. We reported it to 101 and they did send an officer around who thought it was an opportunist trying all cars and hoping to find some unlocked. We can't be sure we had locked it and there was no sign of the doors or windows being tampered with, the door was left slightly ajar. There was also a burglary on our road a few months ago (summer, I think). This was reported to the police who said entry had been gained through an unlocked back door.
  5. Hi Jayyfa, My child is at MG Greendale and does seem pretty happy there. The large outdoor space and wildlife garden is a real bonus but the inside of the building looks like it needs some TLC; it is a bit crumbly and old and some of the toys and equipment are shabby and dated. Are you aware that the nursery only offers 48 weeks of childcare? The nursery closes for 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks in the height of summer (it has just reopened today after the summer break). The last 2 weeks have been a nightmare as we don't have any family near us to help meaning we had to take unpaid leave and annual leave to cover it (nursery still charges 2 weeks of fees despite it being closed). The nursery also increases it's fees every year, around 6 - 10% so you need to work this in to your childcare costs. Having discussed this with other patents in the area, it seems that other local nurseries either have not increased fees or only increased by 1%. I would say have a look at several nurseries before making a decision. There are a lot to choose from in the area and obviously you need to be totally happy who you're handing your baby over to. Hope that helps.
