  1. What an appaling shambles that people trust the council so little, even if the data is full and complete and accurate. This whole episode will be severely damaging for any future campaigns to implement active travel measures because a large number of people genuinely believe that the council are acting in an underhand way, or have been hoodwinked and bent over by lobbyists, or are telling us bare faced lies, and in some cases people believe there is out and out corruption at play What a travesty that the council has damaged its relationship with residents so badly. It will be very hard for them to rebuild that for future projects.
  2. They've been leafleting too... It used to be that politicians asked the electorate what they could do to make things better rather than doing things to make things worse and then telling the public to vote for it in a consultation. They treat us like mugs
  3. If the figures are for the whole month that cycling number would make sense. 37 more cycle journeys per day this year seems feasible.
  4. The police should release the bus's CCTV images to that these so-called fans can be identified and barred from any of the local pubs before Sunday.
  5. They have far more correlation than the figures you have quoted for the whole of UK.
  6. Redpost your accusation is completely out of order. UK wide transport data is incomparable with Southwark data. Come back with some relevant facts yourself instead of accusing people of making things up.
  7. That's shamefully disingenuous. They were given a specific pot of additional money to implement the LTN disaster. If anything has gone wrong with that it is entirely their won fault, nothing to do with money from 11 years ago.
  8. Hello James, before I complete the survey on the Dulwich road closures, please could you feedback on the information you said would be key to the decision: "The two key criteria are air pollution and traffic volume. Put simply, if these two measures are not reduced across the whole area then the scheme has failed. It is not enough to displace the traffic - we want to reduce it overall. ... I have spoken to Cllr Rose and Cllr Burgess (the Cabinet and Deputy Cabinet members with responsibility for this area) to request that these measures be evaluated as soon as we can. I have further requested that the evaluation considers the following factors: - Overall levels of pollution - Overall levels of traffic - The ?social justice? implications of how pollution and traffic are distributed (i.e. who lives on the more polluted streets?)." Can you tell me where I can find your evaluation of those measures. It doesn't feel like air pollution and traffic volume have reduced across the whole area but perhaps you could reassure us otherwise?
  9. The two are wrapped up together though. They both do absolutely nothing to stop the spread of Covid. There wasn't even any logic to putting the barriers there where shops have large forecourts and wide pavements as opposed to those with no such space and an actually narrow pavement, like the cheese block, smbs etc. But entirely coincidentally both these measures free up traffic in the same stretch of Lordship Lane and hasten bus journey times, which are beneficial to anyone hoping to collect data that shows low impact of nearby LTNs.
  10. Agree with that LA. I took four people to west berkshire recently (could not have gone by cargo bike) and it took me over 100 minutes to get to the M4, 11 miles away from here due to LTN closures around peckham meaning more buses and the oval backing up traffic, and the near round the clock congestion charge also pushing traffic onto the same "main roads" etc That was probably 45 minutes of unnecessary additional fumes and pollution from my car that London has chosen to inflict on itself.
  11. The barriers on the other side of the road need to go too, no later than 19th July. There is no need for either of these measures any more.
  12. There is no other logical explanation for it to remain closed.
  13. I get up around seven Get outta bed around nine And I don't worry about nothin' no 'Cause worryin's a waste of my, time
  14. Ugh . Good luck to them Club has changed a lot in the last ten years. Barely recognisable.
  15. I suspect it will reopen shortly after the council have proved that buses on Lordship Lane are not being delayed by the new LTNs. Having fewer stops offsets the impact of the increased traffic on bus journey times, so I don't think you can expect this stop to reopen any time earlier than the end of the LTN consultation.
  16. There are some significant road works on the M4 at the moment
  17. Isn't more accessible public transport supposed to reduce traffic and noxious fumes? If it is causing the traffic and fumes then we should get rid of all buses to clear the roads for cars.
  18. So no planned changes to the road closure in the next six months?
  19. I assume it's still covid related, but it was pretty obvious when they built this obvious white elephant that the water would be permanently turned off pretty quickly after opening, because the same thing happens in every other park where they've ever built one of these. See Brockwell park for the nearest example.
  20. Hello James It looks like there are about to some fairly significant changes made to the road closure on Melbourne Grove. Can you explain what is going on please? If there are changes being made now, doesn't that render Southwark council's ongoing consultation on this road closure entirely pointless?
  21. Where does this change leave the so-called consultation?
  22. Was this from one of these green carbuncles that the council have been spending thousands of pounds on?
