Hi In certain parts we had to go down to 1.8 meters. Only 1 meter was included in the original price.

Definitely try Plusnet. BT?s ?value for money? brand. But gets a lot better customer satisfaction scores - and as post says above is run as a different company.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
Northern Star replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James, any update on the CPR / Whately crossing please? Works to ?widen? the pavements are complete. This resulted in the pavement being wider by a few inches so frankly in my view a complete waste of money. You should come down to take a look - I?d be more than happy to meet up if you have time. The island that was helping to cross in one direction has also been removed. So now we have a much wider crossing in that direction. Is there anywhere to complain to Southwark council do you know? jamesmcash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Dear all > > Sorry for delayed response, I have been away. > > Mrs D - I am looking into seeing if the scheme can > be amended to become a controlled crossing. Thanks James for the update. I think it is a wasted opportunity. There really should be a zebra crossing. Raised platforms won?t make it safe for kids to cross. Can the lollipop man at least help kids cross the other direction too? jamesmcash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Mrs D > > The work is initially to build out the corners to > reduce the crossing width for pedestrians, and > then later on to add a raised table to further > slow down vehicles. > > Best wishes > James -
I live a bit closer to ED station than you but always go from forest hill to east Croydon and then change.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?

James, I received a letter a few days ago regarding work to the junction of Crystal Palace Road / Whately and Underhill Road. Does this mean that we will finally be getting a proper crossing at this junction? -
Hi BT owns EE now. So EE broadband IS BT broadband.

James, I couldn?t see anything in the interim report in regards to the proposed double yellow lines on the middle of Crystal Palace rd - we have managed very well without them for all these years so why are they needed? It reduces parking by at least 5 spaces and I think it may just mean that cars increase their speed if the road is wider. And whilst I am at it - Why not focus on safety and sort out a crossing for kids crossing Whately or Underhill rd instead on their way to Heber or Harris? Current lollipop man is not allowed to help kids crossing there and it?s really not a safe crossing. -
Hi, there is a shop by East Dulwich station that would be able to fix it.

We actually cut a hole in the plaster ceiling of the communal staircase once in order to flip our newly bought sofa vertically into our flat as it couldn?t get around a bend in the corridor to our front door any other way! We then made good the plaster ceiling so you couldn?t see it had been touched. (The delivery people left the sofa downstairs as they couldn?t get it in). When we moved we hoisted it down From the balcony.... Sorry, doesn?t help your situation though.

Lollipop man on Crystal Palace Road
Northern Star replied to Northern Star's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi edcam - the point is that if I do what the lollipop man said (it was his supervisor actually who was there on the first day who said it) then I don?t get to where we need to go! We need to cross Whately or Underhill to continue walking on CPR towards Heber. The lollipop man will not help you to cross either - he will only take you over the island part of CPR. We?ll still be on the ?wrong side? of Whately and Underhill..and as he is on his own he is only allowed to help in that spot. No other lollipop men or ladies :). Thanks for suggestions as to who to turn to. -
So I was very happy to see a lollipop man by the crossing of Crystal Palace Road / Whately Rd / Underhill Rd. I have kids in Heber and I have to dodge the traffic (including P13) every morning taking them to school. But it seems that the lollipop man is only supposed to help people cross Crystal Palace Road from one side to another. When I asked why they wouldn?t help us cross the other way - eg crossing Underhill or Whately to continue towards Heber, I was told that ?to cross CPR was the safest way to cross the road? according to ?the study?. When I told the lollipop supervisor that most people didn?t just want to cross CPR with their kids they actually want to cross Whately or Underhill to take their kids to either Heber or Harris I kept getting the answer that ?it was the safest place to cross. Does anyone know who to contact at the council in regards to this(I literally just want to give them the feedback)? I am super happy to see a lollipop man there but if he could help people cross the other direction that would be even better!

Xmas presents for local children in poverty
Northern Star replied to trefford21's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
At my work we wrapped 40 empty shoe boxes in Xmas paper, and filled each box with gifts (toys, clothes, stationary, books etc.) We then delivered them to the Camden Home Start branch as that was the branch closest to work. They wanted everything in boxes so that they could easily open up the presents to check what was in there. Home Start Southwark is based in the Albrighton Centre - May be worth it to contact them to see if they also accept and distribute Xmas presents? http://www.homestartsouthwark.org.uk -
Hi My kids are in school now, so can?t recommend any myself, but you may find this link useful. http://www.edtots.co.uk

applying for British Citizenship- lawyer recommendation?
Northern Star replied to mima08's topic in The Lounge
Hi Have you tried the UKCEN Facebook group? They have lawyers who volunteer answering permanent residence and citizen queries. I am sure they would also be able to recommend lawyers for 1:1 advice. Good luck! X -
You can also try ?mind over matter? boxing run by Simone. She is great and has many recommendations on here. She runs her classes from the gym by Dog Kennel Hill Sainsburys too. I have been going for a few years now. It?s great! She does family boxing on Sundays as well if you fancy giving it a go!

Changes to your train times from Monday
Northern Star replied to A Cinderella Line's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I now go from East Dulwich to London Bridge and then tube to King?s across. I find it really annoying that this whole farce is diverting people onto the tube which is already packed + it takes longer to get into work. It?s stressful, especially when you have kids to pick up from after school club so need to get there on time. Can?t bike as I have an injury. -
