And Red Post Hill will be closed to traffic.
-
It looks like the 42 being a double decker is going ahead anyway!
People living on the Sunray estate had a letter from Conway/Southwark through the letterbox on Thursday morning stating 'highway improvement works' would begin this Monday through to Friday which is short notice for people living on Red Post.
It's going to be re-surfaced from the top end of Denmark Hill right down to the roundabout near St Faith's with a lot going on in-between that area including a tree being chopped down, which they didn't put on the letter but as I was walking down Red Post today spotted a notice on the tree which has been there for years. It is an old tree but a double decker would hit it so Southwark are taking it out.

It's a jumble sale so anything and everything! I've gone to the DP jumble sale over the past couple of years and picked up some bargains.
-
Have you voiced your concerns with the Manager/staff and maybe talked to other parents there?
-
Southwark also publish a list of childminders (Nursery vs. childminder) if that's any help.
-
Magogley, I also think the 42 extension to Sainsburys is a great idea. Getting to East Dulwich Hospital and Sainsburys is a struggle for some people living on Denmark Hill and the Sunray Estate. Handh is right that it goes to The Charter but also the 37 bus goes nowhere near to Sainsburys if you live on the Sunray estate which comprises Red Post Hill, Sunray and Casino Avenue. You would have to get off the 37 bus at Goose Green roundabout and walk up the hill to Sainsburys (a big walk for some people) so the 42 going straight into Sainsburys would be great.
Going the other way towards the City the 42 does take a lot longer i.e. visiting the Tower of London or the Tower Bridge Care Home but it's always been a reliable route for me when planning journeys but I'm old school.
My daughter had to be at The Museum of London this morning for 10am. The 42 bus is on our doorstep but after talking to me she chose to get a train from Denmark Hill to Lewisham on to the DLR which stops somewhere over near the Museum. I was worried but she got there a lot quicker than the 42 bus route.

Maybe you could get together to contact TFL with your concerns? Get a petition going, doesn't have to be on-line.
Looks like the CPZ will be coming into effect soon and might have an impact on things in Red Post Hill anyway, including the width of the islands so I would act soon.
-
But that's what will happen rahrah.
Before Lambeth imposed their CPZ across the road we didn't want the same but fast forward to now and, speaking for myself, I can't wait.
Unfortunately it will push the problem into Dulwich Village and beyond.

If you mean the North Dulwich and Denmark Hill parking project, we had a letter last November telling us of the outcome.
After the consultation during last May/June there was a 23% response rate after informing all residents and businesses!
59% said yes, 32% said no and 9% were undecided.
The next stage was a Statutory consultation informing people like the emergency services, bus operators, cycling and disability groups and if there's no objections it will go ahead.
We were meant to be told how to apply for permits in January but not heard anything so maybe there's been an objection?

The Jelly Tots Caf? in Herne Hill is good for the ages you mention.
-
Is there anyway you could get her to a local vet to see if she's microchipped?
-
Let's hope they keep the ticket office staff at stations. If not, station staff that can help and advise at the ticket machines.
I hate machines and I'm probably one of those people who are 'confused' when trying to use one!
There's lot of people that only use a train occasionally.
-
OK thanks for that info. Will still be more traffic though.
-
Looks a good idea and especially for the elderly living on the Sunray Estate wanting to get to Sainsburys.
Like sanity girl I can see traffic tailbacks and chaos on Red Post Hill though if the route from Sunray Avenue is taken away. Can't imagine two double deckers trying to pass each other on the hill.

Spangles?
-
Yes, well done for raising the ?2,500 you mention for your cause but let somebody else get a look in too!
-
Fatcats, I would agree with Mark and just pay. Southwark don't want to know your reasons. I still veer towards that direction (turning right onto ED road) as you could do that sometime ago but now you have to turn left (green sign) to go away from where you want to get to!
-
How frightening for you! Hope you're feeling ok. The lengths one, two or maybe three people would go to for stealing a bike and causing injury to somebody in the process beggars belief!
-
Very sorry to hear about your burglary.
It happened to my next door neighbour on Christmas Eve and lots more neighbours over the past months and couple of years.
Some of them were elderly and they were left feeling very vulnerable (I know I felt the same living next door).
Burglary and car crime seems on the up I'm afraid.

Just looked at the Kingsdale admission policy and got to section 1.3 at the beginning and lost track. So many capital letters where not needed and no commas or full stops in the whole paragraph and came out non the wiser what they were going on about!

Maybe he's just worried about 2 year old using older childs scooter? There is a safety aspect, other than the colour.

St Faith's in Red Post Hill have got their carol service for all ages at 5pm and Herne Hill United at the top of Red Post Hill have carols by candlelight at 6.30pm.
On Christmas Eve at 4pm there's something for families at St Faith's. Christmas carols and a story around the crib.

The fourth in a couple of weeks didn't show this evening. This has been the case on the forum for years now. These people seem so genuine/plausible by pm but in the end don't show up and don't make any contact even though I provide all contact details. Some have been browsing the forum when they're meant to be picking up!
I've bought lots of things on the forum over the years and wouldn't dream of doing this.
Recently joined Freecycle and they have a strict policy on excluding from the site anybody who doesn't show with no contact.

If you can get to a Tiger, Poundland or The Works you could pick up some Christmas bits. I get all my crafty bits from them and the Lewisham Centre has all these under one roof (went there last week) and they had plenty but was going fast! The ELC (in Mothercare branches) sometimes has Christmas crafty bits in store but then again it's always pot luck on which store has what.
