  1. Personally I haven't bought a paper ticket from a ticket office in ages, but at Peckham Rye I do see people using it quite often. The only thing I'd be concerned about is having more ticket machines, and staff to help manage it. Only having two there is stupid, come Monday morning where the queue is out the door for oyster topups etc.

In Paris, Brussels, many cities in Germany and some in America cyclists are allowed to do this. I'm not saying that it justifies what people do in London, especially at busier roads where there are cars and pedestrians everywhere. But more frustrated that it's even viewed as a crime and something to 'shake a fist at' on the small junctions where no harm is caused is caution is used.

If there are people about I just alight, cross the junction like the rest of the pedestrians when the green man is on (not blocking or bumping anyone), and hop back on. But then I've had people shout at me for that too!
  4. I always wondered how long that would last anyway, given that it's essentially a coffee shop on in massive venue.

  6. Yes this is great news and hopefully it wont take too long. The service from Southeastern and Southern are absolutely shocking.
  7. I agree that the shared pavement is pretty ridiculous on the street. Why it's not marked by a blue path is beyond me (other than the silver metal line is aesthetically 'cool'). I just stick to the road there and if I'm going in the other direction against the traffic, I just push my bike to save hitting the unknowing pedestrians.
  8. Why would you want to? Any particular spot in particular?

The Lyndhurst road surface is so bad for cycling on, and the speeds of the cars in the general area is just too high to be safe (given the proximity of the school etc). Just lowering the speed would make a massive difference IMO.

Did see that thanks Alan, I'm to attend that one unfortunately.

  12. I was wondering if you guys can think of anywhere I would be able to watch some snooker and be able to buy a pint in the East Dulwich/Peckham/Camberwell/New Cross area? Thanks in advance!
  13. thanks Sue and nxjen, I have had a look and found a lot of information. It's reall good to find out about people keeping hives around this area.
  14. awesome, thanks so much for the info titch juicy.
  15. Hi there, as the title suggests: are there any bee keepers in the area? I tried searching the topic but all I found was a topic about the price of honey. I am considering starting a colony of honey bees in my garden, and was wondering if you have any advice RE neighbors, etc. I have some experience in it, but obviously am wary about doing so because of neighbors and feeding issues. Thanks
