  1. Completely right Otta. Ludicrous for anyone to think that children shouldn't be ferried from A to B via bike. People can't help but jump in before fully comprehending some of the posts here I think.
  2. To see them wobbling along Townley Road pretty regularly makes me feel uneasy. As a mother myself, I worry about what could happen in most eventualities where a child is concerned. Would it be rude to pull over and talk to the guy? I guess not. It is the most bizarre sight.
  3. I quite regularly see a male cyclist going past Alleyn's school with a toddler seated on the back (in correct safety seat) but she has no helmet and the main concern is that Dad also has 2 dogs in tow who run along the road on their leads which Dad holds whilst attempting to steer. It looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Does anyone know them? One of the hounds is quite big and it surely wouldn't take much for it to either get spooked or see a cat/squirrel and pull the bike over. Thoughts?
  4. Mark we used The London Sash Window Company. They were excellent and we are delighted with the results. www.londonsash.com
  5. I'm looking for someone to help me transform 2 rooms in my house. One's a spare room and the other could be made into some sort of 'snug' for the kids so I try and keep the rest of the place tidy. Any recommendations gratefully received.
  6. On Thursday lunchtime I was driving home and passed a fairly heavy police presence at the above intersection. Struck me as odd but hey just wondered if anyone knows what was going on?
  7. I know, daft. Can anyone please recommend a local hoover repair person? I don't think the Spin Doctor does hoovers sadly.
  8. Plus let us not forget the woman who runs it is possibly the most unfriendly person I have come across in the field of catering - she'd be better suited working in a morgue
  9. Why not TJ? I thought this was a forum where folk are free to air complaints?! Thank-you very much however for providing the contact details for the school. I have already spoken to them.
  10. To those Goodrich School Parents who park their cars across driveways near the school - please don't. It's happening to me more and more frequently. I can't get in or out of my drive and it makes me late for things. I'm a patient person and I have children too so appreciate you are often running late. Thanks for reading this and please pass it on to GSP's who don't read the EDF.
  11. I don't know if he had dreadlocks. All I can say is I wish I'd taken a number from the side of his car but I was too scared. I'm away this week but will definitely be checking this thread upon my return.
  12. Ok well I have been contacted by another person on the receiving end of this man's behaviour. She described the exact same person I saw. Black, mid-thirties. Her description of the vehicle was exactly the same as mine.
  13. Orange Logo could be anything. I'm not sure how the rules of the forum go with regards to further descriptions around ethnic origin. Will I receive a tirade of angry mail if I proceed?
  14. I don't often use EDF Alan Medic so please accept my most heartfelt apologies if I've behaved improperly. Kind of thought it might be important to put out some more information.
  15. Seems I'm not the only Mum on the school run Mr.Angry has 'targeted'. Another Mum has contacted me after my post last night to say she's been on the receiving end of some of his particularly dangerous and erratic behaviour. Keep an eye out for this guy - small black car / orange logo in the Goodrich School area. Dangerous and hot headed...needs reporting to his boss if anyone can read the logo on his door.
  16. To the utter back to front driving a small black car on Goodrich Road yesterday I hope you're reading this. You swung into Goodrich Road from Landcroft and proceeded to speed down it with your 2 drivers' side wheels on my side of the road. I stopped dead in my tracks (in my car) for 2 reasons. To draw attention to your shocking driving and to minimise any impact should our two vehicles collide. At this point you got seriously angry. Enough to do a U-turn and catch up with me as I approached Lordship Lane. As I crossed over it onto Townley Road you were level pegging with me (not remotely dangerous then) and proceeded to follow me down Townley. Did the sight of the police at the Alleyn's playing field scare you off or did you just see sense and realise what a total **** you were being. Seriously I feel sorry for you. By the way your tiny little car had orange logo on the doors. Would love to see you again soon so I can note it down.
  17. I can recommend Richard too. He's done a couple of fairly small jobs for me over the summer but is always on time and polite. I wouldn't have a clue if the prices are competitive as not an expert in that field but I would use him again.
  18. My Siemens fridge/freezer alarm has been going off all weekend. Does anyone know of a reliable person who might be able to diagnose problem? Have already spoken to Siemens skeleton w/e helpline and they just told me to turn it off for an hour...to no avail.
  19. I am adding my voice to the growing list of Spin Doctor plaudits. I have a Miele washing machine that has been pumping out the most foul smelling sulphorous odours of late. Called him yesterday evening - he came at 1300 today and has fixed it. Quick, friendly and brilliant service.
  20. Hello I am lucky enough to own a Marni handbag but the strap has become detached and I'm looking for someone locally who might mend it. Please don't advise me to take it back as it's 5 years old.
  21. I've just unwrapped 2 kitchen chairs which need assembling and there are no instructions. Please message me. Thanks very much
  22. Hi does anyone know of any beginner yoga classes starting at lunch up until mid-afternoon in the area? Most classes appear to be either early morning or in the evening. thanks!
  23. Although not technically an ED issue they are part of the same 'chain' and I think, worth a posting. I was in there on Friday looking to spend a decent amount of money on a friend's birthday when my toddler announced she needed the loo. As it happens I also needed to use some/any facilities being 40 weeks pregnant and so asked very politely if there was a loo we might use. They had no hesitation in telling me that they didn't have a toilet (yeah, right) so we hobbled over the road and used the outfitters shop (thank-you lovely man who owns/runs it). Thanks again to DT, you're officially boycotted.
  24. We're expecting our second child early Feb and would like some help. Our daughter is 3.5 years and goes to nursery every afternoon. I'm wondering what people have found most useful - help in the afternoon and early evening? live-in or not? is live-in that much cheaper? I had an emerg C-sect before and am concerned about getting my daughter to nursery should I have to have a second one (have one or two medical complications which might necessitate). It's so hard to know what to book up in advance but don't want to leave it to the last minute either. Also I'd be grateful for any recommendations of agencies. We'd definately need someone who drives.
  25. Our daughter starts there in September - the month she turns 3. She will go Mon-Fri 1300-1530 which suits really well as she's done 6 months at a wonderful nursery for 2 afternoons a week. Get your name down asap as they are popular due to excellent 'onward' links with other schools aswell as providing a wonderful start for little ones. Good luck!
