Spent most of the day in the gardens of the Horniman's yesterday- what a lovely day! All the Mums, Dads and Grandparents where all so friendly- what a nice crowd! I've just signed up for the membership at the museum as my toddler loves the fishes :-)

Any recommendations? The classes need to be late morning or late afternoon on a Mon or Fri. I'm having difficulty finding much on these days! TIA

Hello I'm currently on maternity leave, and returning to work part time in the New Year. A lot of my mummy friends are now back at work, and working full time. Looking for mum's in the a area to hang out with. My 10 month old & I like Peckham & Dulwich parks, caf?s, Hornimans, popping to Bromley for shopping etc. All the usual stuff & now he is getting more mobile we are up for trying out soft play sessions and things like that. Any like minded Mum's up for hanging out? PM me.

I do baby sensory in Forrest Hill with Chee & I have to say it's my favourite class. It's not as expensive as other similar classes too, great value for money

My car just went 'ping', followed by a loud 'ssssss' noise so it needs to go into the garage. In the meantime I need to get about with my 9 month old. Do any taxi companies provide car seats? Or should I just use my own and learn how to fix it with a seat belt (currently use an isoxif in my car. Is it okay to fix your own seat in a cab? Sorry not done this before! Slightly niaeve here!

Hi Sorry to load one post with two different questions! I am looking for a messy play session locally for my nearly 8 month old. Is there anything nearby? Also I have some friends visiting in a few weeks, and we thought we could go to a soft play centre to keep their two toddlers entertained. Is there a nice place anyone would recommend. We have cars so could drive a up to half an hour to a centre. Thanks very much for your help!

Thank you all very much for you replies, I can sleep soundly again now. I rather am drawn to the Stilton shovel myself owing to the fact I could quite easily eat a whole block of that good stuff in one sitting. Failing that, one for Stilton, one for the others seems sensible; although ultimately I will now want to find a second knife with 'Stilton' written on the handle, as I can easily see me jumping up mid cheeee cut shouting at an unsuspecting guest 'stop you're using th Stilton knife on the stinking bishop!' Edited to say Stilton scoop purchased! Thanks all.

I have a friend who sublet a room off a couple with a daughter. They introduced their daughter to her 'and this is Chanel. Well, we spell it with two n's though so it's a bit different, you know' My friend politely asked 'what you mean channel?!!!' Nope they corrected her with a strange look. Chanel. Two n's She didn't end up living there long..

Had family round for lunch today. Did a very nice cheese board afterwards, which included some Stilton. Anyway we have a nice cutlery canteen for special occasions, which includes one cheese knife. But once knife was used for the Stilton, the Stilton ended up on all the other cheeses, including a nice, delicate goats cheese! So do I invest in more cheese knives for our set which a bit pricey?! Or is the etiquette to have just one knife and not worry? Serious question about a really non serious issue :-)

OP obviously never had to get a heavy baby + car seat out of a car in a very confined parking space. Ignorance seems to be bliss for budog.

Hi I'm a new Mum & a bit clueless about public transport with a baby . I need to go into London Bridge next week and can't decide the best way to go with my pram. Options seem to be no 40 bus or train. Bus- I'm worried it'll be crowded and I won't get on with the pram Train- is the slope at ED too steap to push it up?! Any advice? I know I need to man up!;)
