  1. Hello Just wondering how much, very roughly we should budget for a rear and side dormer window on a 1930s style semi? Has anyone had anything similar done and happy to give an idea of cost? Thank you
  2. My brother has 3 children, slightly older (6, 4 and 2), but they use 1 or 2 of the inflatable car seats (bubble bum). They have an attachment to make sure belt is in the right place. Might be possible for you eldest? Weve got 3 kids in the back using one of these. With a toddler seat, high back booster also.
  3. Hello I know looking at smart phones/screens etc is bad before going to bed as disturbs melatonin etc, but is the same true with gro clocks and blue n8ght lights? I presume so, but any thoughts? I know you can turn the light off completely on a gro clock, but we use ours as a night light as little one scared of the dark.. Thanks
  4. Had this issue with son no2. Took 6 months and lots of different bottle types (and money!) For him to eventuality take the bottles we'd had from first child! What worked for me was feeding when he was quite hungry (but not starving hungry) mid morning in the park when he was in the buggy. First time he didn't take much but did the right sucking to get some so i knew he could do it. Then tried again later and was fine from then on. May not work for you, but i think it was the distracted situation which helped.. . Good luck!
  5. I used ten dental in Clapham for teeth straightening. I went the invisalign route... It was quite pricey, but did the job!
  6. It's good that you've booked sppointment to get him assessed if you're worried. A lot of children (esp boys) develop speach later than others. Can he make you understand what he wants by pointing for example? Can he follow instructions? A friend's son didn't start speaking until much later abd it transpired that he had hearing difficulties. Is this something you've considered? Maybe he cant hear properly? Can often be easily treated. My son didnt start doing puzzles until 2.5-3, even quite basic ones. Have yiu tried other things he is interested in - like making shapes out of cars or putting them in a line for example? It might just be that he's not that into books. My son loves them, but goes through phases. Hope all is ok and sounds like you're doing the right thing. If there is an issue its best to get help asap. Good luck.
  7. Hiya, thanks for responses. I think worked out slightly cheaper way - where each of us covered for half the mortgage rather than each for full mortgage. Gives protection we want...but more affordable. Xx
  8. Hello have recently bought a house and have been thinking about mortgage protection in case one (or both) of us gets ill or dies - so including critical illness cover - as we have two young children! we've been quoted ?58pp for this (we're in mid-late 30s) and it seems like very comprehensive cover (including an optional ?4pm for what is almost private medical care - where they will send you to the best dr worldwide), but it seems quite pricey to me. Would be a stretch on our finances with current childcare costs... Obviously don't want to get the cheapest as want to actually be covered, but just wondering what others pay (if people don't mind revealing)? Our mortgage isn't that pricey (although aware interest rates may go up), we really just want something so it's not a financial struggle if the other one gets ill or dies (cheery!) thanks xx
