  1. So from £25 to £80 in the space of a few years to pay for a service we should actually be getting through our Council Tax.
  2. Sorry to hear that. I literally had one frozen item on the list and we can wait a week to replace it. I did get a text from them last night saying fridges were affected as well, but happily this turned out not to be the case.
  3. IIRC Snappy Snaps at Camberwell Green used to convert them
  4. I'd also recommend avoiding the Royal Albert Hall - £15 for a 250ml glass of red. 175ml is a bargain £13
  5. That is dreadful. Last Friday I received a letter regarding my x-ray appointment, which had taken place on Tuesday (luckily they had texted). Today I've received a fairly important hospital letter which I should have received two weeks ago, looking at the date on the letter.
  6. As what the baron would describe as a "blow in", I had no idea he started off here. Fascinating
  7. I'm really sorry but if she's capable of doing that, she's not lovely. She's incredibly cruel.
  8. It's because of the smog we need ULEZ. The less pollution caused by traffic, the better the air quality.
  9. Is anyone else aware of a burning, acrid smell in the air this morning? Is this coming from the fire? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66748968
  10. Didn't support Adam's Cafe very well, did they? (not myself and the Baron, we frequented it often)
  11. The last time I was in the Cherry Tree on a matchday, I asked a girl wearing a Hamlet scarf what the score of the match was (I'd been to Chelsea that day and went in to meet the Baron). She said she didn't know...
  12. I honestly felt really sorry for Adam and Cheffy over the Grove (aka Adam's Cafe). Food was really nice, as it was when it was Ciao. Poached is always busy but sometimes only a fry-up will do, especially if you're going out for the day.
  13. It was on in the Cherry Tree. The baron ended up watching it in there
  14. It was a lot earlier than that - I got up there about 3.15pm and it was closed then. In fact that was why I popped in here this morning to see if anyone could shed any light on it.
  15. Well, this is incredible news. I have told the Baron and he is beyond excited!
  16. I could have sworn I shared the lift with her at DMK station before Christmas and having seen this post can only assume I was right!
  17. Stradella Road runs between Dulwich Village and Herne Hill, so if it is correct that he is moving to that road, it would depend which end of the road it was. I was told by a friend with family living there that it's definitely Stradella Road
  18. This was such a shame as Fabian and Luis were doing a fabulous job. However, I have high hopes for Adam's Cafe - I popped in for coffee this afternoon and plan to road test breakfast on Thursday.
  19. I had just bored a bus outside the DIY shop by EDW station and, having sat down, gazed out the window to see the odd man known as Laurence Fox walking past. So I gave him the Nescafe Handshake.
  20. Codfellas in Bellenden Road are open for takeaways and Made of Dough, also in Bellenden, are offering a delivery service via Deliveroo.
  21. They were making children put the password in at the time of the robbery (which meant they could then change it)
  22. Apologies John - I have only just seen this. This sounds very much like the MO of a gang who have also been targeting children at the local private schools and stole the phone of the young son of a colleague. However, the same family whilst out the next week fortunately parked their car in a different location to usual, the gang was spotted, the Police called, and the four youths arrested. The word is that the youths were working for other, more experienced criminals who were using the stolen phones to obtain contacts, who were then sent phishing messages to obtain access to bank details. Sounds like a 21st century gang of Artful Dodgers working for Fagin.
  23. I think the disappearance of the binliners on the Bellenden stretch may have been to the recent high winds more than anything. I do wonder, though, what is the point of 9am - 11am? Seems a short space of time and won't stop parents from parking for the school pm pick up. Could have understood it if it were 7am-7pm daily
