  1. Hiya I'm looking for someone who could make me a double loft bed. I'm on a budget so would want a basic but sturdy design made from low cost materials. I've got a pine bed base already if something could be done with that, all the better. Just looking up reviews of Ikea beds and have been totally put off by everyone saying how wobbly and squeaky they are so if anyone can make something that won't do those things, please get in touch by pm or phone! 2. Thanks to those who replied to my questions. Pancakes and waffles etc sounds like a plan! I'm interested in local produce as well, perhaps looking in to the 'local surplus and swaps' idea in some profitable way. Great ideas! I'll get thinking because it would be so great to be part of the market. I do know what you're saying about 'twee-ness'- I think beautiful East Dulwich is a little inclined to this. Just as long as we don't get a Cath Kidston opening, I think we're safe! So, if i go ahead, I'l attempt to avoid 'twee' and also all the other gripes put forward. To those who do have gripes with the market, I see your point but I really think that having a problem with this local convenience is better helped by finding positive alternatives don't you think? Moaning about the lack of pavement space and the 'tat' won't change a thing, just annoy people. Suggest something you'd like better!! Also, don't forget that you could be living in one of the many areas of London not lucky enough to have East Dulwich's charms, community and creativity. Of course you could always move to Newham, plenty of pavement space there.
  3. Hi all I'm considering seeing if the council will let me have a stall on North Cross Road to sell food. I can see there's a lot of disgruntled people who think the market isn't serving their needs SO I thought, before I do anything, I'd find out what people would like to see being sold. What kind of food would you like to see more of? Is there a cuisine you haven't found there yet that you'd like to try? Would you like homemade ready meals? snacks? cakes? salads? How about sanwiches? and soups? or somethng really different? Tapas? What about alcohol and drinks? I'm not sure about licensing there but perhaps this is an option? Tapas and top quality sherry? or maybe you'd prefer coffee? and tea? Lordship Lane and North Cross road is an AMAZING hub of foody wonder and t's worth remembering that but there is always room for more so what do you think?? All responses welcome! Thank you!!
  4. Hi all, Please help! On Friday night, I lost a pendant with lots of sentimental value attached to it and I am posting on here to see if anyone has found it! I lost it either on Lordship Lane near Magnolia or on Landcroft Rod/ Goodrich Road late on Firday when it fell off a necklace my mum has made for me. Not only did she make it for me, but the glass it's made from was a gift from a friend too so double sentimental value! It is made of a marble sized sphere of sea glass with curls of silver around the outside....have you seen it? If so, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease please can I have it back? PM meeee!!! Thanks!

Network and a lead singer/ artistic director with two world music groups. p.s if you're interested but feeling nervous- don't worry- i had never sung before I went and although it was fairly nerve wracking, it's very supportive atmosphere and lots of fun!
  6. Wow that was detailed but I have never seen that film!! So it can't be that.... Also the voiceover is English....so it's either an American or English film. BAH!
  7. I know! We just can't remember what is is! (I'm Loveshovel's housemate and probably responsible for this annoying mystery- sorry) We seem to remember that you can't hear the women- just the waves or perhaps its silence. But there is a voiceover of a man commenting on how the women are grieving properly rather than holding it all in....its a sort of wry observation type voiceover. Oh- the scene is quite disconnected from the rest of the film I think... oh i just HAVE TO KNOW! Anyoneee????
  8. Hello you lot, I'm new to the area- discovered the knitting circle already - oh yes! But I'm looking for more! I'm interested in textiles, music, meeting friends, getting involved, craft, cooking- anyone got any good idea of stuff going on I can get involved with or join?? Also has anyone been to the Bargain Pilates at the sports centre? never done it before but thought maybe I should go- any good??
